how do you know when the pie is "set" ? I did the tooth pick testbut have not tasted the pie , letting it cool,  hope it tastes as good as it smells.

It seems "impossible" for a pie to make its very own crust, custard-type filling and crunchy coconut top, LOL. I think it should be called "Impossibly easy pie" LOL! I made this for Thanks Giving and it turned out AMAZING! Everyone loved it! I made 2 of them. I used a round cake pan instead of the pie pan. It looked so pretty to. I am adding this to my holiday baked good. Thank you!!!

i used to make this back in the 70's....it was on the Bisquick box and really is delicious....my mom who is an excellant pie maker was astonished at how good it was...glad you posted it since i lost the recipe quite awhile ago....dont hesitate to try this....it really is impressive and easy.....and btw...you are soooo cute....

Hi RonRay! This is such an easy recipe and it is a little like coconut macaroons (I've got a really easy macaroon recipe on here that's so yummy!).

As for the camera operator... my Mom does all the filming and she is so comical! Right now, I only have one mic pack, so we've been missing all of her laughs and witty comments (she's a great sidekick and actually makes me laugh even more but her voice is not picking up on my mic... grrrr) I need to get a mic on her... she's so funny! :-)
