God i remeber being there 14 years ago, one of the messes was closed due to a cockroach infestation. Best decision i ever made still love life in the RAF. Oh and the CS gas chamber it sucks i wont lie to you its not comfortable but it proves the gear your issued works. besides the effects of cs gas only last a minute or two and then its over, its the one and only time in 15 years i have been forced to deliberatly breath in cs gas.
i find it interesting how everyone is ost worried about the CS gas, my step-dad went through it along while ago, and he says its really nothing to worry about, its really not that bad, but until i go through it myself soon, ill stay skeptical lol
Its more like prison, no offence to raf, mad respect to them, i dropped out of training after 10 days couldnt take it, all that ironing, marching, early mornings, no personal, my advice to anyone joining is really think about it, is it what you want, are you willing to sort of die for 9 weeks, and then do training in a room of 4 or more, and then sign up for at least 3 years minimum and be ready to travel anywhere in the world and not contact your loved ones
@Graffiti731 in fairness you did 10 days not 9 weeks, so you cant comment on what its like after 10 days. I dont think anyone going in expects it to be easy but if you want it you will do it!
@Graffiti731 Well, that's what the first few days are for. To weed out the unsuitable recruits. At no point in my training or my career was I ever in a position where I couldn't contact my family or friends. It's a good career choice if you can hack it. If you can't, go elsewhere. Seemples.
3:00 no wonder she had to start again... that beret is disgraceful!!! the badge should be over the left eye and the excess material should be touching the ear...
i am 25 is it too late for the raf.
