Although most handguns shoot over 800 fps, there are a few that are close. Even though they are traveling at the same speed, a bullet fired from a handgun will have more muzzle energy than a paintball because it has more weight. Also, since bullets have more weight they retain their speed much longer than a paintball.

No less than 75 feet, otherwise this thing could do a lot of damage. Since paintballs are light, they slow down fast and then the speed is not an issue.

Not shooting someone unless they are more than 75 feet away seems reasonable to me. This could hit someone from much farther away than that, but that is the minimum. I didn't think it was safe to shoot anyone with this from any closer than that. What is your problem?

That is the reason why I don't shoot them from any less than 75 feet. Even a paintball that is going 500 fps to start with has slowed down to probably 200 after 75 feet.

Actually paintballs aren't very heavy so after just a few feet it has already slowed down considerably. Past around 250 feet I had trouble with paintballs not even breaking on impact.

Probably not as quiet as you think, the hammer would have to stop somewhere, probably pretty suddenly, which would result in a bit of noise.

It has an air chamber mounted on it, which is filled with compressed air from an air compressor. The gun uses all of the air from it's chamber, but I can get around 5 shots out of a one gallon compressor tank.

It isn't too bad, now I use a 5 gallon tank and a regulator so I can get around 40 shots per tank.

It WOULD have broken, if it was going at a normal paintball gun speed, but it was going three times the speed of a normal paintball gun, so it didn't break until it had gone through one side of the milk jug.

Well, recoil is dependent on the ammo you are using, with paintballs, this gun has little to no recoil, but with 3/4'' steel stock (usually in 10" lengths), this has a lot of recoil.

More like ten seconds at most, check out some of my other videos, one of them has the loading system. The air compressor is hooked up to the gun the whole time I am shooting it, so it is fed a constant source of air. I am also working on making it semiauto.
