Estimates are that carbon credits will cost energy companies a nice amount. Obama wants that money for his Obamanation. The energy companies will not pay the tax, no company pays the taxes out of their pocket. Taxes are an expense for them, like buying material to build stuff. They pass the cost of the material expense (tax) onto the consumer. In this case, it is estimated to cost the averaghe household about $1800 per year for their electricity. A tax cut for 95% of Americans.

I guess you're missing my point of the gov't creating, literally out of thin air, something they will now CHARGE (tax) companies for "producing"

it is a fact for long time where i am.
are you joking?
since decades, all countries know exactely how much emissions they produce. they count it in
tons. now, if corps. want to put emissions in the air they think twice, may be modernize or take a look at efficency.
