Isn't there a little detail about the ball breaking the plane? I don't think the rulebook says the player's foot must break the plane while airborne. But it's moot anyway, it was a sweet and clean MSU win no matter how you look at it. Nothing is sweeter than victory against "the victors" - such arrogance.

ooooooooooooooooooo. just read the rule. when he catches it and he lands on the pylon its considered out of bounds. but if he catches it inbounds the pylon is part of the endzone. thats kind of a dumb rule. if he drags one foot and one lands on the pylon it should be considered a TD just like if one of your feet lands on the white. that rule should be changed

The right foot touched out of bounds before the other foot came down in the end zone. But I still don't understand why people are debating this. It didn't effect the outcome of the game at all.

Rule 4 section 2 artical 1 B states that an airborn player who touches the pylon is out of play. So no it was not a touchdown.

Either way, if MSU loses this game it still counts as a loss and UM would still get a seventh straight win. Its funny though isn't it how UM fans didn't bitch about this call. Weird. Seems like they've been bitchin for seven years about another infamous call. (Guess which call the Big Ten said was correct though).

@Hexydes I know it was a bad call, but I don't get why the rule is what it is. The rule is if a player lands on the pylon he's out of bounds even if he catches it. Why don't they change it so if a player lands on it but still gets a foot in bounds it's a touchdown?

no matter which side you are on, you can't retain credibility if you think this changed college football more than the other 2 calls/plays that went the other way

Thats was clearly a blown call. The rule book states just because a players foot hits the pylon does not make it a Touchdown. I love how the refs tried handing the game to Michigan just because it was in Ann Arbor. Fuck you Michigan fans.
