  • T. Paine. Your own mind is your own church. What a wicked church that must be. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within and defile the man. Mark 7:21.

Just give it up! U don't know what Obama religion is, just like no one else knows. Under Muslim Law they say he Muslim...that part right there!

  • Of course he is not a Christian because unlike you he has read the bible and realises it is a collection of stoneage fairytales. I don't expect you to accept this as you have been indoctrinated since birth not to challenge the religious dogma portrayed as fact despite any verifiable evidence. That Obama has been able to do this despite similar intensive indocrination further proves the greatness of the man. To convince an inherently good person to do something really evil you need religion

  • @alcraig Don't try to sneak one in! Your right! Trained since birth, TOLD by the word of God to judge anyone who says they are in the body of Christ w/o verifiable evidence. Your trying to defend this man but your not making it. HE SAYS HE'S A CHRISTIAN! He knows no one will accept him in this Christian nation, otherwise. He just can't stay in character. No one would call him one if didn't claim to be one, because he does not speak as one. We're going to call him the little horn! U feel me!

  • @javavon5069 I would say Obama is probably a Deist, which I can understand. What I can't understand is any free-thinking person believing, without any evidence, the bible to be the word of God. I believe as Tom Paine "the Bible is a gross libel against the justice and goodness of God, in almost every part of it." and if you believe otherwise I say to you that you haven't read it. It is these biblical contridictions Obama is trying to elucidate but, not surprisingly, I see it is lost on you.

  • he should be making this speech today. America. you need an overhaull. The rest of the modern world gets it why don't you? Religion + Politics = Bad News.

It saddens me.. we had the same problem in the middle ages as we do today.. religion standing in the way of the advancement and evolution of the human condition. we would be 1000 years more advanced than we are today.. And regretably it's reering it's head again. Perhaps in a few hundred years it might be gone. Religion has served it's purpose

  • This man is a project by the people (the upper room people). Y'all know who I'm talking about. They were most likely extremely charmed, you know how white people get around charming black people, and I do mean extremely charmed! It's like a pimp and his hoes, they was just playing with him...lol! Wake people this man is not a Christian and he plainly states that! That was his submission to a One World Religion to whoever he was talking to they was eating it like hot soup on a snowy day in Cali!

  • @javavon5069 I have no idea what you are talking about. Is English your second language? Are you saying that because he is not a Christian heis not a good person

  • @alcraig Ummm yes. Good person, maybe. Worthy of being the U.S. President, nope! Not only because he is not a Christian, there are many people who claim to be Christians but do not follow the teachings of God. This man uses Christianity, cuts it down, then uses it again. Incase your not following his Admin., this man's is tatics are as far from Christianity as you can get, but still yet he says he's a Christian. Look...even you know he's not a Christian, but HE says he is!! GO O!!!!!

  • What is your position mann...

  • I want this guy as president. Not the guy we currently have. They ARE two different persons.

  • Barack Obama, the supposed Christian, is trying to reach out to Evangelical Christians by taking hostile quotes from the Old Testament, the Hebrew Bible, & asking them about it. The truth is President Obama shows his ignorance here. He Should know that the Hebrew Bible is more hostile because unlike the book of Christianity about Salvation & what the Lord God says, the Hebrew Bible emphasizes the sins of man more emphatically & demonstrates the need for Jesus to come & save our sins.

  • I believe he's two-face and is playing the same trick that Governor Steve Beshear (D) of Kentucky has done. Besear played "Christian" until he didn't need to anymore.

  • @steverinohayes You have to in this country, it's sad, and totally against the constitution and 1st amendment for the people to act this way. An non-christian will not get elected president if it is known.

  • @therabbithole999 I very much hope this changes for the reasons Obama gave. Good speech, we'll see who actually listened.

  • Only a Christian can tell the true goal behind Obama's comments. He wants to silence Christianity. Where pluralism has been tried, people of true faith have been persecuted. He attacks the inherency of Scripture, which proves he's not a Christian. You can't be a Christian and deny the Bible as truth. This is what Obama and others are opposed to. They want an ineffective faith to exist in people that opens them to deception and manipulation by politicians like him. His prayer everynight

  • If the scriptures are written by the most intelligent being in the universe, shouldn't you be doing what it says and gathering stones for anyone who disagrees with you so you can pelt them with rocks until they are dead, or do you prefer burning at the stake?

  • @dirtyharrycallahan1 Keep the faith ;-)

  • @dirtyharrycallahan1 Psycho, quit taking the bible literally every time. You endorse slavery, genocide, child murder, kidnapping, rape, incest, stoning... etc. Wake up! think about eternity in heaven... never ending eternity... have fun, i'll pass. Can't wait for the "Well have fun in hell then" rebuttal ... Use your brain, take it metaphorically, believe in God if u must, (it could be true, i don't deny it) but the bible is mostly worthless.

  • @therabbithole999 This kind of blatant hate speech is ridiculous. You must be a product of the NWO Public school (indoctrination centers) that teaches everyone to hate right and wrong and Christians and Jews. All I will say is that your hate will lead you to an unhappy life. Their is eternal truth and it's not in Budda or any other religion. And no, true Christianity is not a religion because it says that we've all sinned and fallin short of the Glory of God and therefore there's nothing.

  • @dirtyharrycallahan1 Funny you us ethe phrase "indoctrination cernters" ad then spew a 1-sided Christian argument... and deny all other religions! Wake up people.

  • @dirtyharrycallahan1 I see no response to taking the bible literally... what genocide isn't moral? stoning? Slavery? Let's here some justification for that, should be interesting...

  • @therabbithole999 "A fool says in his heart there is not God" - Proverbs At this point you are a fool with your mind made up to pursue hell. So I've tried to speak the truth in Love, despite your name calling and false attacks. I'll simply let you continue falsely blaming me and other Christians for every evil in the world because Jesus said, "blessed are you when other say all manner of evil against you and falsely accuse you for my sake." So you have blessed me. I just hope you'll repent.

  • @dirtyharrycallahan1 Hmm bible quotes don't work on non-believers. I never said there was no God anyway... I "don't know" since there is no proof but I am not completely shutting the door to the idea. If there is ever reasonable evidence to change my mind I will but right now the bible is not proof. I am not "pursuing hell" I don't have any reason to believe hell is real and definitely don't worry about it. I'm not hating just pointing out the irrationality in some of your beliefs.

  • Respond to this video... ""A fool says in his heart there is not God" - Proverbs" you realize this is hateful to non-Christians? You are calling anyone who is non-Christian, Fools (about 4 billion people). I never once blamed Christians for every evil (even though I definitely would have a basis for that argument). I blame them for being irrational, biased, and intolerant to other religions and people. I blame them for taking faith over reason and evidence which seriously hinders the truth

  • Respond to this video... There is no eternal life without Jesus Christ's blood he spilt for you and me. You can seek Budda and any other religion you want, but you'll never have peace. Instead, you'll continue your obvious hatred towards people who've found peace in God. And your words are indeed hate speech. I hope you find a relationship with the God who made you (not a religion). But it won't be apart from His eternal Word. and lest we repent, we can't have that peace.

  • @dirtyharrycallahan1 That is your opinion, and 4 billion people (including myself) would disagree with you. I am perfectly happy denying what can't be proven nor am I at all happy with eternity as a reward. Eternity? have you even thought about that? Conscious for billions of years? no thanks... I'm an "I don't know" person call me an atheist if you want. You keep your one-sided opinion and spread your Christian righteousness and intolerance.

  • Respond to this video... I'm not trying to convert anyone, and I'm not Buddhist, just quoted Buddha. I am perfectly happy and at peace with my stance... In fact I am at more piece with myself since I abandoned religion and the constant threat of damnation. I live a moral life and don't fear God or hell. I am not hating your belief in God just the negativity when you say things such as "You can't be a Christian and deny the Bible as truth." and then deny half the moral teachings in it.

  • @dirtyharrycallahan1 BTW, your only the victim of deception and manipulation if you can't think for yourself in a rational and reasonable manner. Taking the bible as absolute truth is the opposite of this thinking.

"Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it,

no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason

and your own common sense." - Buddha

  • hurray!! i love the sepoeration of church and state!!! if u dont well then fuck u!!!

  • to me it all living life we now of. save all life. are we perfect union of killers. times is not a good answer for aburtion

  • It is impossible to a complete degree, but is pursued in good conscience - it's the American way.

  • There are many interesting points in this speech.

One thing really bother me though

It is his superior attitude when he speaks about faith, religion and religious people.

The three examples he selected from the OT and NT are really a poor choice and shows a real shallowness in his understanding and knowledge of the Christian faith. It worked with this audience but it will backfire on him

His statistics were not honestly reported. How can he bring people together and insult them ?

  • I don't understand what you're saying.

  • I can list hundreds of reprehensible acts encouraged by god in the Bible, if that's what you want, you sinister book reading, sadist "final justice" believing cretin.

  • It is my personal policy not to respond to anyone who call me names, use profanity or insult me.

    Have a better day

  • Hear hear! Whilst I disagree with a part of your post (I don't believe Obama's understanding of Christianity to be shallow), I do agree with your basic right to say all of it. In addition, I FULLY support your stance on ignoring insults. People on both sides of the argument spend too much time and effort slinging mud in the other side's direction and flaming each other over the internet. Obama's speech was about a call to reason as much as a call to renewal, a call which so many seem deaf to.

  • I'll take that as a "No, I don't want my book proven cruel and unjust, I prefer to ignore those verses."

  • Then do it. I encourage you to search the Bible. Stay in it. For the Bible is a mirror. You will see that your life has become about hatred instead of love. But you might try opening your mind enough to search the Bible for Christ's words of incredible love and peace. I pray you'll find a place for God in your heart.

  • Did you not watch all 5 parts? Obama is talking about the role that religion and the religous have in politics. Perhaps the most important factor in domestic policy and key in recent elections.

If the only "real issue" you care about is whether or not we should revive the gold standard, then you are free to scream Ron Paul as much as you want. But there are a litany of issues that we are going to have to resolve in the future, and we need common sense and a clear view of reality to do so.

  • America, whether we like it or not, is a pillar of international stability. For the good of the nation and the good of the world, we cannot simply resign ourselves to the policies of the 1800's. That said, many of Paul's ideals are well noted.

It's clear that McCain and Clinton see American strength as justification of exerting our power however we want. Paul seems determined to dismantle that power. Obama, while not perfect, is relatively moderate, in deliberation if not conculusion.

  • Obama will just go to war

I guess you don't know what the CFR is.

"we cannot simply resign ourselves to the policies of the 1800's"

you obviously think Obama will change everything, but he has the same foreign and monetary policy as George Bush and you think thats change???

  • Blah blah, one world government... yaddah yaddah 2012 doomsday scenario.

You clearly read my posts with the care you take to listen to Obama's (or anyone's) policies. I didn't say Obama would change everything, as I said his conclusions may indeed be similar to those of Clinton or McCain (of even on occasion Bush).

I know the concept is anathema to the typical "internet individualist" but there is a role for government beyond a military and police force.

  • I think you have neglected to consider that this speech was given with in a certain place and context, and Obama spoke within that context.

  • Yes, he spoke in a black liberal church with Jeremiah Wright as the pastor. By him agreeing with their 10 point pamplet shows his evil bias and intent on this nation. He's a deceived individual as are so many. They hate God in his truth. So they've devised a cunning way to silence it under the label of peace of tolerance and of diversity. But all the while, Democrats are passing hate crimes bills that silence a large portion of Americans. They tolerate not those who oppose their Nazi ideal
