  • We have a quad speed skating league that just started up in Western PA, NE Ohio, and Northern West Virginia. Up until recently I had always kind of missed speed on quads; good video 5 stars.

  • id like to know if that time is still a record. i cant imagine that being beat

  • I think it is, check USARS website for quad records. I am at least sure one of them (Tony or Dante Muse) have the record.

  • yeah it still is...we had some good 2 lap session races when we were growing up..i never made it to the nationals..started playing hockey

  • Who? You and Tony, thats cool he is one of the all-time biggest names in the sport.

  • yeah, i quit quads back in 84 after i moved to minnesota and got into hockey. but i lived in des moines until then. he would always tell me to come to the speed practice, but i knew i didnt have the wind at the time lol

  • Lol, my old speed coach started a quad league around Ohio, PA, and West Virginia a few months ago, so now I am coaching quad practices at the rink I work at. Building stamina is definitely one of the hardest things, and I feel your pain. I used to skate on inlines but I quit about three years ago and getting back into it is tough, also quads feel like you're skating through molasses. Also Minnesota is one of the bigger states for speed skating I think, Wisconsin too.

  • yeah im on ice now, but i would take quads anyday over inlines even though you dont go as fast. they just look cooler.
