@kynishe Then I select to compress it using the divx codec's 720HD profile by going to Video->Compression on the menu bar, selecting divx, clicking configure, and changing it to 720HD profile (For best quality, have your in-game resolution set to 1280x720 when you record.). Then I save the selected portion as a new avi by going to File->"Save as AVI". Virtualdub will compress it down to a manageable size (under 1GB) for uploading to YouTube.
@kynishe I downloaded the divx encoding codec (different from the playback codec) from the divx website. Then after I'm done recording I use VirtualDub to join the multiple .avi files together by opening one, then going to File->"Append AVI Segment" to open the next, repeating until you have them all. Next I watch the video and place start/end markers (on the bottom toolbar) to select 10 minute segments of it, since YouTube does not allow videos over 10 minutes.
@kynishe I use Fraps to record (Full size, 30FPS). To narrate, you have to enable an audio recording device called "Stereo Mix" first, set it as your default audio recording device, and then un-mute the playback of your microphone so you can hear yourself talking over your own speakers. You may need to adjust your microphone's boost a little to amplify the sound. You need to use a headset or headphones also and have your speakers off so there is no feedback from the mic.
@Antiks72 how could have D2 be so much better? It's a really good game. But like most games like this, after you beat it, you do not want to play anymore after awhile.
That'd be nice, did you try fucking around with the console yet? I meen, don't just DO IT on your' first playthrough, but try it out on a different character. It's pretty cool.
@writertrump Considering Runic Games is partnering with Perfect World Entertainment for the MMO version of Porchlight, I believe it will be entirely free, you won't even have to buy a retail box to play it. There will, however, be a cash shop where you can spend money for extra in-game items and services. It will be possible to play without using it of course.
@HolyHelel The Schaefer brothers (Diablo) are now with Runic Games, who made Torchlight, so yeah, it's a pretty good comparison to Diablo. Travis Baldree (Mythos, Fate) being the CEO had a pretty big influence on the game too.
diablo 3 isn't coming out for at least 2 years. blizzard have stated they are only releasing 2 games in 2010 and that is starcraft 2: wings of liberty and world of warcraft cataclysm
You can get this game off off steam right now for 10$ they have a deal right now its usually 20$. its a tight game i bought it last night and i cant stop playing it. basically its a more cartoonish version of diablo 3 but still alot of fun. i bought it to last me tell diablo 3 comes out instead of paying for WOW
Primarily in dungeons, yes. Some of the later dungeon levels are very open though, and don't really feel like dungeons, if you know what I mean. There is a pretty nice editor (TorchED) that allows users to make stuff like outdoor fights, but no official ones that I know of.
Yeah, I know it can be a bit annoying to be constantly hearing click click click click. It's really my preferred method of movement though. I'll just need some time to practice click-and-hold movement.
Would probably increase the lifespan of my mouse too. Just got a new Logitech G7 mouse and I love it. Sure has a noisy clicker though.
Yeh i was doing summoner alchemist, since alchemist is very similiar to necro from d2 i think, gollems a lot of small summons, minion buffs and poison damage, but in this game summons don't hold agro at all, monsters just ignore them and charge at your guy lol.
when you play hardcore/very hard stop farm lvl make good items ,then get on with the storyline, but then again the more you play this game the more money u got and at some point u can make weapons so overpowered it's not even funny =_= it's not fair they robbed me of the sensation of having my char with the best equips:( hate that enchant system :( but the game is pretty ok
They are changing the enchant system slightly in the next patch to have an increasing chance of failure the more you use it.
I've used enchants a tiny bit in my later videos, but I haven't really gone overboard with them. Just a bit to boost a weapon DPS up to match something more appropriate for my level. Sure I could make it 10x stronger, but I don't really see a point right now.
Is it me or does the music kinda sounds like Diablo too?

Game was 5 bucks on steam this last weekend. Picked it up. I think my favorite class in alchemist so far.
Gorgeous graphics that run great on my single core p4. Kicks the shit out of d2, because Blizzard abandoned it. D2 could have been so much better...

@weward Single player only (not even any network multiplayer).
Perfect World Entertainment is making an MMORPG based off the Torchlight universe. Hopefully it'll have similar game play.
