I love James Newton Howard so I love all the amazing piano covers you do of his work! :) I'd love for you to do either Flying or I do believe in fairies from Peter Pan! If you had time that would be great but thankyou for all the amazing work you've done so far! :D x
@LauraCx1996 Hi Laura! Thanks for the kind words! Makes me happy to see more JNH fans! Your right I was planning to do use a Peter Pan cue for my next suite. I was more thinking of Fairy Dance! Flying is very though though. But a great option as I want to use more action for my other suite ^_^ thanks a lot for advising! Right now I am listening to I do believe in fairies! Great piece indeed!!
This is probably the greatest video on youtube. all these pieces of music from the wonderful james newton howard put into one complete peice is a total work of art, i think i've listened to this at least 20times now and it just gets better each time i hear it. The peices from i am legend in particular are amazing but eptisicus from batman begins is easily the best peice of music ever written on piano. You sir are a very talented man, thank you so much for creating 15minutes of pure beauty....
@joey678ful Hey Joey! Thanks mate for your very kind words! I am glad you like it! As I putted a lot of effort in this suite! You know it was really hard to find the cues together as it is just too much. Just think of it. If you would like to make a suite and puseseveral cues. You immediately think of all the Night Shyamalan videos, blood diamond, King Kong, Prince of Tides, Snow Falling on Cedars, The Tourist, Dark Knight, Batman Begins etc. etc. It is just too much ^_^ Now up to part 2 =D
WOW, you play so amazing for 15 MINUTES without screw things up!! I've done a video of the King King Soundtrack as well, but that just lasts for 3-4 minutes, but still I could barely breath toward the end cause I was afraid to mess up... I assume you felt the same way toward the end too ^^
@Pianomusikk Hehe, yes I was nervous. But after the unbreakable cues I was more relaxed. I finish with the Village pieces. Which is my most favorite soundtrack and I know the score very well so was confident in the end. But still you don't want to mess it up indeed ;-)
wow. truly amazing. i must say, i hear everything in music, from classical to jazz, pop, rock, heavy metal, all kinds of electronic stuff... but i am a complete film music maniac too. especially hans zimmer and james newton howard. so thanks for posting these videos!
this is.. absolutely incredible.. definitely your most ambitious video so far. I have never seen something so.. amazing... wow. I can't wait for the second one, and I can see that you put so much work into it! It would be great if you could share sheet music, or point us in the right direction.. anyways, thanks for another wonderful video!
all of it was incredible!! you are very brave for posting 15 minutes of this on youtube!! i know i would have messed up right around the end and started over! you did wonderful! keep it up! you'll become a great composer one day!
@eyork9 Hehe, thanks mate! I am so glad you like it! Well it is not brave. It is just passion! I noticed that no one made a piano suite for this incredible living legend. So I am happy that I am the first who made it =D I am glad you like it. But there is no way I can compose stuff like this. I leave it up to the maestro's!! But thanks for your encouragment!! Cheers!
omg, you play for over 15 minutes, you are obsessed with this composer ;)
Did you get nervous towards the end of the 15 minutes in case you slip up and have to start the recording again??? I would be shaking by the last few minutes lol.
@UKpiano Haha, yes I am definetely obsessed with this composer! Just like you with Hans Zimmer and Bach ;) Well actually I was getting nervous at the Batman Begins part (Eptesicus) because that has some tricky chords where I need to stretch my hands extremely wide and I save the last for best. I mean the Village. I know that part by heart. Also I simplified it a bit ;) I am now working on a very rich arrangement of the Vote! One of the best pieces I know! Thanks for watch and comment! Cheers mate
I absolutely love I am Legend soundtrack... it is wonderful, the melody is so touching! Otherwise all Howard's soundtracks are great! Thanks for uploading! I guess I will download your music to my iPhone to listen whenever I need to relax my brain ^_^
@MoonaticFairy Glad you like it MoonaticFairy! Shall I upload a mp3 of this suite? Just let me know, but don't wait to long as I will go on vacation this weekend!
@molossuspiano Thanks for the suggestions. But what pieces do you like of those scores? I have to say action music from TDK is definetely from HZ :S I can't use that for a JNH piece I am afraid :S
@juggernoud1 well, from TDK it's mostly hans zimmer , and from batman , i like myotis, i think that one is from JNH.
I was listening to his action pieces, some from salt , but, it doesn't fit on piano, but from salt, i think you 've played already some others i like. you could include those on your next suite :) . cause i think he has some good action pieces but i don't remeber right now. and they don't fit on piano , i think.
@molossuspiano I have listened and read so many interviews with Hans Zimmer, who says that his sole responsibility for the Dark Knight score was the Joker's theme. Howard covered Harvey Dent, Rachel Dawes, Alfred, Bruce and Gordon's scoring. If you listen to it, over half is recognisable as Howard's. You may think that just because there's a lot of action, that Zimmer was responsible. I recommend listening to Flow Like Water, and you'll see Howard was heavily involved in Batman's action scoring.
Hey great suite! ;-) For the second part I would suggest to take something from JNH's adventure scores as well, e.g. from Dinosaur or Atlantis. I could do a little arrangement for you if you like.
@cosinusomikron Yeah I heard some good thinks about those scores! What are your favorite themes? I am not really that familair with his animation scores! Thanks for helping!
@juggernoud1 My favourites from Dinosaur are definetely "Epilogue" and "Across the desert". Concerning Atlantis I was thinking of "The Submarine", but Atlantis has some really beautiful lyrical themes as well! "To the spaceport" is a cue from another great animation score of JNH that's worth a listening.
This is insanely good man. Well done. In your 2nd part you could include, Flow like water (The Last Airbender) End Titles (Lady in the Water) Be With You (The Happening)
@MrHPsauce01 WOW!! You are mentioning one of my favorites themes!! That is great!! I see there are a lot of JNH fans out there! I am glad you commented! I am working on We're going to Fly now! What a magnificent theme! I love it! I am definetely going to use that one! Also Circus Fantasy is my favorite track of Water for Elephants! Thanks mate for advicing those incredible themes!! Highly appreciated!! All the best, Noud
@MrHPsauce01 Another great themes. But I already made videos of Flow Like water and End titles of Lady in the water. So I would like to use new cues. Be with you is adorable! Thanks for the advice! BTW you are a huge JNH fan aren't you? You are really mentioning some great themes of him =D
@juggernoud1 - I don't want to say it as you may take that title, but I consider myself his biggest fan :) I have followed him since I can remember. I've listened to his work constantly for over a decade. I have all of his scores and there isn't a day that goes by, where I don't listen to anything of his. I'm listening to The Hand of Fate right now lol. I can't get through a day without hearing one of his pieces. He is truly the best, and a music God!
Hey Noud! I thoroughly enjoyed your JNH piano suite! I must get hold of a James Newton Howard compilation to listen to while driving to my piano lessons. BTW, this was a big project and you did a fantastic job! Keep up the excellent work. Rob.
@TruePiano1 Thanks Rob! I am glad you enjoyed it! The hard work wasn't for nothing I'll guess :-) Hmm, I am not sure if there is a JNH compilation score. But I can make a compilation CD for you with all his best. That way you can definetely hear that he is a genius ^_^. Just let me know and I'll send you some pieces to you! Cheers Noud
@Dioscuri90 Thanks mate! Yeah that is some good advice! I was indeed thinking to do that too. But I thought maybe it is nice to leave it out without knowing what pieces I use immediately. Therefore I used the pictures so that you know from which movie it is. But your right! I'll keep that in mind for the next part! Thanks!
And I believe that you've never made a transcription of Vertical Limit soundtrack, which is pretty good. I understand that it's easier for you and less time-consuming to re-use some tracks that you've already performed in the past, but why not some Vertical Limit then. To my mind you could just use The Village, King Kong, I Am Legend and Batman...and it would be perfect! hihi. Oh, I almost forgot, another suggestion : Lady In The Water (if it's fit for piano of course). Thanks for your music!
@alexiskirat That is right!! I have to say I already wrote the sheets of "It's a good song". I love that piece!! I just need to fine tune somethings. But I'll say it is finished for 90%. I love the Vertical Limit score!! What is your favorite piece? I love "Three years later" and "Annie and Peter"! And I really would like to use new cues (themes) from different movies I never made a video of. But indeed making a suite of pieces I already played is much easier and less time consuming ;)
@alexiskirat Yes, Batman is great!! Maybe Corynorhinus! But I need to be absolutely sure it is JNH not a HZ piece:P Not that it is difficult to distinguish :-) And yes I also worked on Lady in the water but your right that one is really difficult to fit for piano:( Really frustrating. It is not what I would like to hear. But I'll upload a video of that piece seperately first and after that I can use it for piano suite 2. Thanks for your good advices!! Highly appreciated and I'll keep in mind!!
Hello Noud. I have been listening to your music for quite a while but it's the very first time I write a commentary I believe. Mmm, King Kong I am not sure it is almost the same cue as Beautifull. Thanks for your suggestions!!
@joydreamer Yeah, this one was indeed very time consuming. But it was really fun to do. I'll hope there will be some good suggestions for a part 2. At least if people like it. Haha, yeah I know Alex played the Last Samurai as well as I am Legend. I think the piece called "I Am Listening" sounds familair to you ;) Well I think James is a very busy person. He doesn't watch this. But I would love to meet him one day! Or go to a concert of him!!
@walsch2007 Thanks, let me know if you have some comments, suggestions for a JNH piano suite part 2. Maybe you think this video is too long or you would like to listen to more of his action music etc. Thanks for that!
