@Strasburg1991 It was and will always be my favorite car (the Yellow version that they had). Last time I saw it was 2003, with 90 in the gold trim around the tender and cab.
@Strasburg1991 I'm wondering if Strasburg thought about rebuilding it, it's a bit bigger, has movie history, and it's unique yellow, so it's stands out.
I think I'll suggest it if I remember the idea when I go up there in October.
@2102FAN No, they definitely do! (maybe not with their historic steam locomotives though.) I was there in July (2010) and on a siding, they were unloading a grain-filled hopper car!
Just wondering why the train on the siding at the meet didn't extinguish it's headlight and why I didn't see the head brakeman standing by the switch (on the opposite side from the switchstand) and also wondering if the marker lamps on the rear of the train on the siding were turned to show green to the rear and if the rear brakeman was protecting the rear of the train.
I agree totally, when is the next anniversary so I can put that on my schedule! It's sad to see those things in a museum instead of on the rails where they belong but at least they're safe from the outside and will be a cinch to put back together for another run.
STUNNING! Brought me back to my childhood visits to the Strasburg railroad! Strasburg is still #1, BUT those were the days...You could climb onto the 1187! I also remember the site of them building the water tower! Who knows I could be in this video!
I was 5 or 6 at the time when they were building the water tower. I still do remember that old one and of course, the wig wag for the crossing. What happened to that?
Does anyone know what whistle is on the 7312 here.

To bad #1223 doesn't run anymore.

That had some humor!
The Strasburg has gone backward more than most railroads have gone forward.

strasburg should put the white trim back on 90 and 31, they had a more "Strasburg" look to them.

the railroad uses spring switches, set for the incoming train, and when the outgoing train goes through it can go through without derailing...
