  • hehe you're a good teacher , Chef Jean piere!! :)

  • Thank you so much for this video

  • aye aye

  • this somehow only seems convenient if you are cutting celery

  • good tip

  • Haha "This requires a lot of practice" - good to know!

  • yes you are!!

  • Very Nice - Now do it with a bundle of lemongrass. : )

  • Done properly, its probably the safest method to use a knife for chopping.

  • lol every on has his method i think only practice ;p

  • YES! Exactly what I've been looking for! Thank you!

  • Won't he cut his thumb that way? and if his middle finger slips, it wouldn't look too good...

i wouldn't recommend it for newbies in the kitchen

  • Yeah, I also wouldn't recommend it for people with little practice, honestly. To do something like that, you'll need a good feel for your knife, your area and the food item you're cutting, and how it cuts. If you're trying to do that with say, celery with a horrible knife (Blunt and/or rusted), in an unfamiliar kitchen, you'll do poorly and most likely cut yourself.

  • cutting is simple, people just have to remember to take their time, thats why you practice in a kitchen you wont have the luxury of time so when you practice on your own take the extra time ^_^ also i hate the searing sensation of getting cut...so 5 extra seconds to save me a pint of blood is worth it

  • merci chef

  • Thats not his index finger, thats his middle finger but nonetheless helpful

  • very helpful!

  • CHILDREN, take care!
