Firstly, obviously Paul Krugman was speaking tongue in cheek so don't even pretend you think he was speaking literally.

Secondly, Schiff even shows his understanding of Krugman's metaphor for stimulus at the end by pointing out that if aliens destroyed everything it would necessitate a stimulus to rebuild everything. That's what Krugman was saying!!!
