  • "Because they can't swim, hippos don't like being out of their depth".

One of BBC1's idents involved hippos swimming around in circles in deep water, which I think was a bit exaggerating now

  • hippos really are weird animals.

  • Incredible animals but they are very dangerous. They are responsible for most human deaths related to animals in Africa.

  • @liuton2005 Its becuase Hippos are racist to Niggers brav!!! ;)...

  • If you want to know what whales USED to look like and behave when they still had feet and were on land, Hippos are probably pretty close.

  • I love how he says "beach boys." These animals are amazing, so graceful underwater.

  • ballet

  • I'm starting to think the aquatic ape theory has some good ground. They seem to have many of the same aquatic abilities we do, such as voluntary breath control and virtual hairlessness.

  • Duh, just read the description

  • Ooh Dolphins! =O

  • every time i look at a hippo, i think "yup, that's a dolphin alright".

  • seems like the other animals like hanging around with the hippos. The fish and white birds seem to like their company. The fish probably feel safe by them.

  • Oh, I'm pissed! In the US broadcast the narrator was freaking Mark Hamill. I would much rather have listened to Stephen Fry!
