She was sick that day, if u listen the Hero performance u'll noticed that she was very hoarse. Open your ears please. And is ok lipping when u're in a poor vocal condition, it's called "preserving your voice". Peace.

the video and audio are not syncronized.. this happens on many concert shows, maybe the place is too big that the sound cant travel as fast as the singer opens his/her mouth..

i think it pretty easy to figure out which part she lip-synched and which she really sang. Not all belting part was really sung here tho. She mixed them up.

she lips some parts UNTIL 2:25 when she starts belting. she is so smart for doing that. she played the original version in the bridges in a lower key and added some vocals live. and then when she came to the belting she nailed it because if you try to sing the song in the whispery voice she does until you get to the belting part your throat hurts and you're doing less the what you can do if you started in the belting part. you should be thankful she sang the hard part live and not otherwise!!!

Recorded live. usually during rehearsal hours before show, performed live and recorded live, that incase something happens they have a backup, it sounds live coz its recorded live. in todays technology, that practice is very common.

If she lips this song, she wouldn't stop the long high note at the end (when she stops and the backup singer finishes the last bit), I've seen her lip sync this and she dues the full note.

The voice sounds bigger here. The belts, runs and riffs are different. Don't argue with me if you have not listened to the original version less than hundred times.

As a Mariah fan I can admit when she lip's a song, but there is no way this is liped. Her voice at the end of the song is 1000% not the original recording, and her voice sounds the exact same as in the beginning of the song. There is a clear point during the bridge of the recorded version where her voice overlaps. It doesn't overlap in this performance. Anyone who's seen this song lipped knows what I'm talking about.

it was live then, you just can see it on her gestures and facial reaction, this version was also different from studio and her other performance, you just can tell it. there must be a problem in the video thats why.. :)

i rili wonder, how can someone inhale (check her chest rise at 0:30) while uttering words out from her mouth? (bcoz shes lipping idiot) but the good thing is she did the last part live (the video is not in sync with the audio so its hard to spot another lipping moment) but definitely this is not 100% live

lol are you all serious? the david letterman and snl performance and all the tour performances are live and all the rest are lip synched. she sang butterfly a lot of times live in butterfly tour and lipped it a lot on performances outside usa but not here or snl or letterman.

Recorded live. usually during rehearsal hours before show, performed live and recorded live, that incase something happens they have a backup, it sounds live coz its recorded live. in todays technology, that practice is very common.

@jusifymysoul. The high notes aren't lipped, did you hear her voice struggle on the high notes? that was her tour voice. If she lips this song, she wouldn't stop the long high note at the end (when she stops and the backup singer finishes the last bit), I've seen her lip sync this and she dues the full note.

The song sounds the same wether she lips it or sings it live, its actually sad if your life revolves around watching performers sing live and im not saying this to you, but to others that always constantly watch her for lipping.

@msyouso . Mariah doesn't lip-sync on tour, she always sings. She doesn't go on tour if her voice isn't fit for it, its why she didn't tour fo E=MC2 because her voice wasn't in a proper state for so much continuous performing, it was struggling with just one performance.
