  • I only had the pleasure of seeing a TU 154M once taking off. That was from Istanbul and it was Caspian Airways. Beautiful plane...

  • crystal clear videos

  • Beautiful Plane...

  • Another TU-154 crashed last week ._.

  • I wonder if Tu-154 is still used on international routes. I lived a short distance away from Helsinki-Vantaa airport (HEL), and could recognice the Tu's (134 and 154) by their noise. The early DC-9s were not much quieter.

  • That's never a 20 degree climb-out, it's almost verticle!

  • Hot plane, great sound. Check out the tail rudder action on its way down the runway!

  • Omg i love how everyone defends the tu-154...

Yeah its a nice plane! but its coffin with wings...

Thats why its been banned... in areas around the world.

    Doesn't meet standards...

  • @badboiant29 r u sure? only a few crashes caused by engine failure

  • @Atherii im sure!

  • @badboiant29 Yeah, it doesn't meet emissions standards but that's it. In terms of safety they are top notch. Blame the airlines that fly them for the crashes. It's up to them to keep them at a safe standard

  • I actually flew it twice by АЭРОФЛОТ - great plane, great airline !!

  • a military pilot :)) They all take off so :))

  • 100% vodka! =D

  • That was amazing, what's not to like? I'm very impressed.

  • very steep climb.

  • i went on that on my way to bulgaria

  • did russia make this?

  • @MrKyvegas00 Of course.

  • Climbs like a proverbial 'homesick angel'

  • She served with one of the WORLDS BEST AIRLINES

  • whoa it went up like a rocket.

  • There is no plane that sounds like this one!!!

  • the same as Boeing 727

  • @iphopad Not at all. True that it looks alike.

  • Best airliner ever! ;)

  • Nowadays, BH Air sends the Airbus A320 to Manchester Airport, of course you'd already know that.

  • @superjta59 I'm flying with BH Air this August and it would be great to be able to fly on one. Don't get me wrong, A320's are good aircraft but they're so boring compared to this

  • @aspiringdrummer17 Even though I don't see this aircraft here in America, it's definitely better than the Airbus A320. Are you flying to Sofia, Varna, where?

  • @superjta59 I'm flying to Bourgas

  • @aspiringdrummer17 Thanks for the info. :D

  • @superjta59 probly Burgas

  • @rugeley123 Ok, Burgas is a good city. BH Air is a good Bulgaria charter airline.

  • 35 másodperc alatt felemelkedett. Nagyon kedveltem ezt a gépet. Ennek még lehetett hallani az erejét.

  • wtf the climb is impressive

  • Oh my gosh, I'm an American and I think this plane is gorgeous!

  • @Jimb0tr0n me too!

  • @Jimb0tr0n I couldn't agree with you more! I've always loved the look of the TU-114, the TU-134 and especially the TU-154! :) I don't think anyone could ever take a back picture of this airplane! :)

  • what a climb!!!!!! bravo!!!!

  • LZ - Bulgarian Civil Airlines.

  • Nice to see one of these old classic birds, climbing like a homesick angel.

  • Like !!!

  • ugly tail :

  • Wow, that was steeeeeeeeep!!!!!!

  • very steep takeoff, it looks like it, but is it?

  • my god that was a shuttle launch!!

  • beautiful, I wonder why they angle the two outboard engines in.

  • Gotta love 727 copies!

  • @trekkieguy34 Was brought into service before a 727 :)

  • @satojinnthehero Tu-154 production started in 1970, while first passenger flight was performed at 9 February 1972. Powered by Kuznetsov NK-8-2 turbofans, it carried 164 passengers. About 42 were built. Tail numbers from 85006 to 8505 (wiki/Tupolev_Tu-154)

  • @trekkieguy34 Nice search up on wikipedia can't you use your own brain?

  • Montenegro?

  • interesting climb out....... brilliant wish i was on that baby!!!

  • why every Tu-154 has scorched tail and smoke behind after the take-off? anybody knows?

  • WOW that was an interesting climb rate :O

  • STALL!

  • If my life depended on it I would fly in a well maintained TU154M before I put my foot in a Boeing or Airbus, or any other bird. Love the 154, best dependable, rugged, heavy aircraft ever built.

  • Tu-154's have only 37 hull-losses which were never caused by mechanical failure! Now look at B737, B727, B747... all three have over 100 hull-losses! So don't even bring Boeing when talking about aircraft safety....

  • @ArmAFan Those 100 hull losses are not caused by mechanical failure. Second, soviet union probably blamed pilot error rather than their bad maintenance. Third, 747, 737 and 727 have much more flight hours than all russian aircrafts.

Accident rate per flights is much better with 747 and 737 than TU-154, im not sure about 727.

  • wow what a climb rate !

  • @KingOfPopLive : right, "you hear", plz try to listen more. Because you're wrong: in the last 20 airplane accidents, only 1 were russian-made (actually this one, a Tu-154, but not for technical reasons) and 2 ukrainian. In those 20 you'll find 8 (eight!) Boeing group planes, 3 Airbus and 2 brazilian Embraer. See airsafe.com/events/

  • @KingOfPopLive : actually, the Tu-154 is a very nice, safe and pretty well-designed plane. Sorry, pal.

  • @Congamako true, false

  • @Congamako not to mention one of the fastest commerical planes.

  • @KingOfPopLive stupid. It's not ugly! one of the most beautiful planes!

  • @KingOfPopLive Ok The Most Russian Planes Crash of Pilot Errors... and Boeings & Airbus crash of Technical Malfunctions.... i think this is more dangerous because if a captain makes a mistake than you can correct him, but a big technical error means... youre dead man

  • @TurkishRapVideoz Bullshit, pilot error is biggest cause of all crashes. Why would soviet made planes be better than western made planes when everything else was worse in soviet union than in west?

  • @KingOfPopLive There seems to be a lot of relaying info from other comments without any background knowledge here. From my own following of the news i've only seen boeing and airbus crashes reported. Russian planes are completely safe if maintained correctly, and if they were flying with a recognised european airline then i would expect them to be well maintained. And i agree they are pretty ugly haha :)

  • @KingOfPopLive you're f***'n idiot

  • that sound ! WOW

  • i want back this plane^^

  • I have flown on these wonderfull aircraft on 4 occasions and love them, the sound is breath taking and so is the runway performance, I too get fed up with hearing about their saftey record since if you read into the facts regarding TU154 losses you will find that the vast majority of crashes are nothing to do with the design or reliability of this plane.

  • Cabbageowen you will have a job as unfortunatly balkan use western aircraft now. you dont know what your missing! one of the most heavily engineered aircraft out is the Ty-154M. Like the British VC-10 you couldnt be in a safer aircraft.

  • you would never get me in one of those

  • @aceridgey you don't know how much you're wrong!!! TU5 was and STILL IS one of the best planes ever build!!! take a time, read some more about it...

  • @lyub4o69

by the use of your language i guess your not english.

the thing is, its personal opinion,, the aircraft looks unstable, unsafe.

    I am a boeing/airbus fan

  • @aceridgey English or not english that's not the point...My advice to you is to reed some more next time before putting comments about the things you obviously don't know...

There is plenty of speciallized literature about this plane, read some.

For example TU5's wing is known as "elastic wing",which gives the plane more stabillity and comfort in the air compared to the earlier Boeing and Mcdonnell Douglas models...

    And yes,i'm a Boeing/Airbus fan too...

  • @lyub4o69 i cant belive your having a troll about my opinion..

look i wouldnt like to fly it,, thats not opinion, saying that this aircraft is amazing, is NOT FACT.

so back off please, i have simply stated an opinion

  • @aceridgey I would pay $1,000 if not more to get a chance to fly on one of these and pay another $3,000 to fly on the Il76MD Il62M and Tu-134 :D

  • @TonyFirelli what ever floats your boat man

  • That's a great soundtrack! I love the Tu-154 unfortunately it doesn't come to DUS anymore, since Aeroflot,S7 Siberia and Rossiya changed them für Airbuses A 319/20.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • very beaty plane of the world

  • The coolest soviet jet. And the coolest way to stow away the landing gear. Backwards !! Love it.

  • tupoleves are awesome, the 154 is the fastest sub sonic plane built, better sounding than boeing or airbus!

  • Check out the climb rate!

  • Glad Balkan have A320's now, wouldn't feel very safe on a Tupolev airplane

  • pilot- this is a passanger plane ,not a fighter.! Very cool vid- thanks

  • Climbs like a rocket, raw Russian engine sound! Nice one

  • pls tell me they r not using this plane, im goin on a balkan plane in june, wont be happy is i go on that :<

  • They have Airbus aircraft now!

  • @1970sPlaneSpotter I wish they still had them

  • @1970sPlaneSpotter Sadly..

  • This is very good aircraft!!!!!!!!))))

    Dont tell another

  • BH Air doesn't have the Tu-154 anymore. They've got four A320-200 in service.

If I had the choice, I would prefer to fly in the Tu-154 instead of an MD-11, as an example for "not using a plane".

  • @cabbageowen yeah you're right to say that. i had to try and survive 4 hours on one of those !!!

  • @cabbageowen You should be more happy to go on it!

  • @cabbageowen : the climb rate is not the pilot's only choice - they are not mad, nor PS2 players. You don't fly too much, do you?

  • @cabbageowen u r a moron~!

  • @cabbageowen And now i bet you loved it :) great great plane!!!

  • @cabbageowen why don't you want to go in that aweasome airliner

  • @cabbageowen Whats so bad about a TU-154?

  • @cabbageowen Why?

  • @cabbageowen lol love these kind of replies, Delta still uses MD-80s from the 70's this plane is brand new compared to them..

  • @cabbageowen y has this received so many negative votes, its nothing nasty or offensive :s

  • @cabbageowen

I'd love to go on it! the next best thing to a space shuttle launch ha ha!

  • where does the thrust from the tail engine go? i cant see any holes for it to get out :/

and wow at the wide wheelbase on that thing.

  • ever heard of the tristar............? same thing.

  • yeah ive heard of the tristar. does the thrust come out from the hole at the back of the fuselage, right on the back tip where the apu usually is?

  • Yes.

  • @KuostA

    Good plane?good history

  • I hate the TU-154.

  • Nice video

  • Tupolev aircraft are best know for their speed capabilities!! Incredible. A mate of mine pilots the TU-154 and claims to get a 480KT cruise at 37,000FT.

The B777-200ER is what I fly. You would be looking at 440KT @ 35,000FT

  • throw this plane awayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.

  • August 2006. Many thanks. Simon.

  • Jet noise is the most beautiful sound ever.

  • Amen to that my friend!

  • Wow! I would have loved to see one of these. When did you film this?
