  • @chiflamico contact your local guyana embassy in Colombia.

  • Guyana - Amerindian name for land of many waters. Berbice - from the Arawak word beribishi for banana. Demerara - from the Arawak word malali for waterfall. The Dutch heard the Arawak and called it De Malali. The British called it Demarary. Essequibo- from Arawak word dishiki-bo for fireside. It took the Arawaks so long to paddle across the Essequibo they had to carry their fireside in the canoe to cook food. Mek me feel prapa hungry fuh some hat dhall and rice and curry gilbaka.

  • dacid martins is singing, originally from the 60ties,to react on the venezuela claim on Essequibo

  • that song was from the 1980s by Dave Martin...

  • @kingofkingsbc Mr. Dave Martin 100% guyanese

  • What we need in Guyana is real Gouvernment not the scamps we have had for the last 30 years. Real chance for this beautiful country that is Guyana to enter the world market we have soo much to offer the world. wake up guyanese wake up

  • true true

  • Guyana would one day rise again to power and regain its great wealth, its just time, Guyana was once the wealthiest country in the caribbean and all other west indians use to come to Guyana in search of jobs. I am a proud guyanese and will always be a proud Guyanese, and those islands that treat guyanese like shit now (barbados especiallY) yal time coming. What all Guyanese need to do is regain pride in their country and dont tek shit from noone.

  • Imagine if we all moved back, Guyana would be one of the most powerful countries in South America.

The country is run by cowboys right now.

  • i know u commented disz madd long ago......but i love disz comment thanx for that =)

  • @911guyanaese1boy

Don't let dem Bajan people bother u, the only reason they don't like Guyanese people is because the wealthiest people in Barbados are either GUYANESE or of GUYANESE DESCENT. Many Bajans have to work for Guyanese business owners in Babados so it's only normal to hate the boss.

They just jealous cause we work harder than dem and when they thirsty they have to drink Guyanese Beer, BANKS BEER IS 100% GUYANESE.

BAJAN MEN can enjoy their Mount GAY Rum with their BOYFRIENDS! lol

  • guyana is an amazing place. and like so many others, i'm proud to be guyanese

  • This country must be beautiful, i am from Italy and the boy i love is guyanese. I want to come and visit your paradise!

  • I am a proud Guyanese and I ain't afraid to say where I am from like some Guyanese

  • hey what countries in south America can you live well in if you just know English????

  • is this a joke or do you really need the answer?

  • really need the answer lol

  • well this is a video about Guyana so there's your answer!!

  • is that the only 1?

  • Guyana is the only English speaking country in South America, so since you only know English you don't have to worry about communication..

  • TRUE English is our 1st Language, but it is not our only language, the MAJORITY of Guyanese is Multicultural with Nationalities from around the Globe, so alot of us can speak other foreign languages! I know where ur gettin at, u think Guyanese ppl r nothing, well I've got 2 words 4 u: SUCK IT (BLOW ME BITCH)!

  • @RazMami LOL, my mum side of the family lives in Guyana in Georgetown and I can't understand a word they say

  • me too!! im a proud guyanese

  • There is no such thing as violence in guyana.. so get the sh*t out of here.. guyana is beautiful period.!

  • god meh love da tradewinds i remember when i use to listen to dem song dis=3

  • Its good im a Guyanese

  • LOVE BEIN GUYANESE! WOO!

  • Here's to beautiful Guyana! There's no place like home... the people, friends, and warmth...not to mention the shops, rum ones too, and all. Simple & friendly! I am always happy to say I am Guyanese.

  • To much violence in Guyana. People there simply need to chill out and stop killing people like in Lusignan and Bartica and all the other ridiculous crimes that go on for no reason. I'm sure Guyana is beautiful and I hope to visit it one day as my roots go back there.

  • @brittanykhan same here

  • There's no place like home! the warmth of Guyana, the friends and places, always makes for a wonderful holiday. I,too, am looking for some tradewinds music.

  • guyana is one of the most beautiful countries in this world. Countries with big cities of concrete and skyscrapers just take away from natural beauty of which guyana contains. I hope guyana stays the way it is...Perfect

  • you are right Guyana is the best place to live

  • KNOW PLACE LIKE GUYANA(HOME)!

  • KNOW PLACE LIKE GUYANA (HOME)!

  • I'd love to go to Guyana, but I'm more scared of insects than anything else lol

  • none of that can harm you

  • excellent music

  • *Question for Guyanese: These are lovely pictures, but isn't Georgetown quite dangerous for tourists? Or is it's reputation a bit exaggerated? Some places (like Colombia) aren't nearly as dangerous as their reputation, but other places, such as Colón, Panamá, are every bit as bad as they're believed to be.

  • Have you been to Georgetown? Did you feel unsafe or are you going on what you have heard or you just making yourself a thing with two long ears and a tail...

  • well said :)

  • Nice song and video. Everyone is on here saying that its a beautiful country; and it is. However, how many of you still live in guyana if you think its so beautiful? :)

  • u know something most people that i talk to say if the know that these forign countries were like this they should have never come.and i agree guyana is way better than these countries yes u do not make lots of money but it is a very amazing country

  • oh damn! nicee

  • like many other countries yes Guyana does have crimes but, that does not make the entire country bad.Guyana is a beautiful country. from experience i can tell you that many of our own guyanese are talking these trash about guyana but really they should be encouraging people to visit our beautiful countyr guyana.inconclusion to this i would say yes guyana's reputation is being exaggerated

  • I'd grown up in Guyana before I came up to Canada to study. Nothing bad every happened to me, it's actually here where I'm more scared lol. There are some places you should avoid but if you're not involved in anything and you can cross the road properly (now easy with streetlights lol) then you're safe =)

  • this is a nice video and great song

  • One of the best videos made about Guyana. You Guyanese who now live in America and bash Guyana, listen and learn. Guyana is a beautiful country and we have much to be thnkful for

  • People should not bash. Read history. Guyana is a "Native American" name. Meaning the land of many waters. History is there to be learn by anyone. Most of the rivers, etc, all named after the natives, Guyana, South America is a part of North America.Columbus discovery of America, were mostly Carib and the Arawaks Indian. History is there for everyone.

  • this idiot is forgetting that it was Americans who did it. He just mad cause I made a comment again his Dr. McAverage on the piano. HATERS!!

  • Look how you so schupid, you trying to diss Guyana but really dissing your own Americans.

  • you stupid venuzulaian shoul listen to this song we guyanese ain't giving up anything.love guyana

  • Jagdeo been looking at my you tube videos?

"WITH limited money to market Guyana, President Bharrat Jagdeo yesterday urged young Guyanese to use immensely popular online social networks such as Hi5 and Facebook, and websites such as YouTube -- the most popular website to share videos -- to market Guyana."

  • That is a really intelligent idea, i live in Australia and would love to visit someday, i have no desire whatsoever to visit USA though and there are many people in the world who feel the need for a more adventerous and authentic travel experience so keep at it mate you are doing the country a great service.

  • LOVE IT!!!

  • Hi, i love this. i have been trying to find a copy of this music on CD but with no luck. I live in London but have just come back from a visit to Guyana - it is the most wonderful holiday i have ever had!
