What was done to the Native Americans is now done to the Palestinians by the Israelis with the help of America. Palestinians became third class citizens in their own country. After all the land was once called Palestine > what a shame America has learned nothing from History

Wonderful! A concern: Johnny Moses (NW Native storyteller & wisdom keeper ) says some songs are for healing, sacred - not regular songs to be listened to for entertainment, like here. To me, this song is very likely a healing song. Genuine, peaceful, loving appreciation expressed in advance attracts a reason to feel that way. The Universe shifts to reflect, conform to, & perpetuate our mental-emotional energies. Carolyn Miller, Gregg Braden, & Abe say that's the secret recipe for miracles.

In the days that lie ahead, our father god will protect our mother for us, our father god, we appreciate you when you are with our mother, When you have a mother, love her (your mother) with ur heart. (Repeats verses)
These songs are my lullaby, haha i would smile in my sleep as my father sang these songs, when i was smaller i was FLUENT NAVAJO but since i joined school I've lost interest in my native culture. I want to capture my native culture and the feeling of the culture again. I know it's difficult learning Navajo but i need too try. I miss talking navajo. :) I would talk for hours to my grandmother in nothing but navajo!
@darkprincess4267 I feel the same way. I recently joined the Marine Corps and no one here speaks the language. I miss my culture. It feels as though a part of me is gone, since I can't speak my language to any one else......:(
@layzboyz202 D: good luck in the marines! :) but i don't think we should interfere by causing more chaos in the middle east. we should find a compromise or something..im going off topic, so I do miss my culture too but im glad i get to eat frybread and mutton stew <3 haha!
Great spirit, all of our mothers and grandmothers let it be that they have good times and peace and walking in beauty without un needed hardship let them be in beauty and peace, unquestionable we all love our mother earth.
@CBLawrence007 wonder why they gave it the title Navajo healing song as that is the name of the song, but its beautiful whatever it means, it has calming effect
Very uplifting, makes me feel like we all have sold our soles and holy land that we are very fortunate to walk on to very selfish needs, We all need to learn from the Native Americans they lived their lives together, true to heart ,sole and spirit.I hope this song heals all. I'm not sure if I have any Native American blood relatives, but my heart and sole tells me that I would have proudly belonged to a tribe.
I just lost a very close friend who was Navajo. My heart is broken, I miss him so much. I can only hope that his soul is flying free now, that his soul soars. Thank you for the song. It is helping me through my mourning of my beloved friend Osiel Davis. May you rest in PEACE my friend.
do not morn the lost of your friend, but rejoice..for he has been chosen to continue his journey among the spirits of his ancestors and on into the sweet embrace of our spiritual source...rejoice inthat, during his lifetime, he has touched others and within that touch, shared his spirit with them and in so doing, lives on.
Thank you for your kind words and wisdom. What you say makes me feel a lot better and it also makes sense to me. I have come to terms with his loss and I am now free to believe that his spirit is free and he "will continue his journey amoung the spirits of his ancestors and on into the sweet embrace of our spiritual source" as you said. Thank you very much.
I am a nursing student and doing a presentation of the Navajo and their healing practices. I would love to use this song in my presentation. How can I get a copy of it to use? I appreciate this, I fall asleep each night native american music, I think it is absolutely beautiful.

@OlawanWi You and I are here to "face the wind" together my relation...let us be proud to acknowledge that honour and walk together our good red road...in my language I say "Kia Kaha, Kia Maia, Kia U ki to Mauri Ora" - "Be Strong of Heart, Be Courageous, Hold Fast to the Spark of Life you have been gifted with"...love and light / arohanui
this is a song blessing the mother, peace be upon the mothers of all nation young mothers old mothers, we love you and may your children respect and revere the llife you've shown them!!! :) from a very thankful son
From my soul to the heavens...I'm still healing after all these years...My dearest mother & Grandmother, with tears running down my face so full of love for you, I look deep inside me and yearn for your arms around me again.
@chulah12 Yes, we r a nation that suffered greatly and this generation is still recovering from the cruelty our grandmother's n grandfather's parents had to suffer. In coming generations we will heal even more n rise again to be even more proud and strong.
@chulah12 I see our Dine nation like a child. As an adult our nation grew--going thru all the tribulations in a world of change, of a world of beginnings, a world who tried to extinguish us. Now in this generation and beyond we (Dine)are like a child again--still recovering--stumbling and finding our way thru a new technological world.
thank you I wish my grandfathers were here to sing for me I found their pictures in some old books I am half apache and half navajo.I will join them soon it will be a good day when i do my grandson will carry our blood as my daughters do.They were taught well and live with honor

my father is in his last summers, i cherish all the seasons i grew up with him!
those hands of his carried me when i was in a bad place, and his eyes will never lose the spirit of him and his brother where i feel most home!

it is sad how the navajo in the past had to endure the '' long walk''..what on Creators earth did the whites want to do with a desert ?....
chulah12 1 year ago 2
@chulah12 Yes, we r a nation that suffered greatly and this generation is still recovering from the cruelty our grandmother's n grandfather's parents had to suffer. In coming generations we will heal even more n rise again to be even more proud and strong.
doriannlee 1 year ago
@chulah12 I see our Dine nation like a child. As an adult our nation grew--going thru all the tribulations in a world of change, of a world of beginnings, a world who tried to extinguish us. Now in this generation and beyond we (Dine)are like a child again--still recovering--stumbling and finding our way thru a new technological world.
