The freight industry is doing well because they are far more efficient than big rigs. Gas prices are skyrocketing, which ultimately is causing the recession. And it's not going to come down again, ever. Google peak oil production.
Hopefully this success will continue and help bring about a better railroad system in America, they're far more practical.
Railroad stock has risen the last few years with gas prices. When gas prices get high enough, those rails that were converted to trails, will go back to rails.
There is a lot of cool new stuff that we all know what can happen. I think that if we could all just STFU, everything would be much better in the long run.
