was this on 159th and leclaire? i lived there from 1992 to 1996 when i went to the states first! all wood...no wonder the mouse infested place went up like a bale of straw!!
@heywatrudoin The guy who did this was an Indian dude from India. He worked where I worked at; he was always drunk, angry, sexist, and racist. So this guy will certainly spend the rest of his days rotting in prison.
aprox. 36min from the box alarm to the 4-11. The initial tone out/FD ariving o/s(still alarm) was about 3 min and shortly after that was the request for the still and box. from there on up.
Good video. Was South Holland there? If so why weren't you in town protecting your citizens instead of flying around with a blue light in another town?
Great video I like how you plug the tones in.What department do you work for? I think the investigators box went6 higher then two levels.I heard them request help from Kankakee county.
I'm associated with the south holland fire department but work on the MABAS 24 canteen. For mabas 24 it went to the 2nd alarm (thats as high as it goes) but yes i will say, there were many FAR OUT OF DISTRICT dept. that came to that fire.
Wow, that's just amazing footage. I used to live in an apartment complex with my family and that was always one of our concerns. The fire department was called out one time because someone went to sleep while cooking and filled their apartment and the bottom stairs apartment with smoke. Fortunately, it didn't catch fire. Awesome video.
there were aprox 34 fire departments that responded. not sure on how many fire TRUCKS and firefighters were there but they were put to good work, mostly just man power than the use of the actual trucks. thanks for watching!
it did stay to the 4th alarm. There was a investigation alarm to the 2nd level and we did have a interdivisional box so that other departments from another mabas division could cover our division while we worked at the fire.
thanks mabas, thanks for the pics too, thanks for picking up MY slack when i wasnt able to take much pictures. Have A Happy New Year! Be Good Be Safe!

The best part is when you pull up and you can see the flames shooting over the building in the foreground...good stuff.

Superior footage and photographs despite the situation. How long did it take to reach four alarms?. One of the best pieces I have seen yet.

do you have to be a firefighter to be on the canteen or do volenteers do it.
stats66 4 years ago
you have to be associated with the district. no "strangers". mostly thornton fd and some people here and there help man the rig.
