  • I live in oak forest holly shit

  • Oh my God. I couldn't even finish this. It hurt me to see the big black pile after it.

  • was this on 159th and leclaire? i lived there from 1992 to 1996 when i went to the states first! all wood...no wonder the mouse infested place went up like a bale of straw!!

  • The best part is when you pull up and you can see the flames shooting over the building in the foreground...good stuff.

  • omg i live like in the houses right behind those apartments.

  • i was there live tht nite nd the next morning whn abc 7 new wgn nd chanell 2 nd fox were all there

  • i cant belive that arab guy did that how many people died?

  • @heywatrudoin The guy who did this was an Indian dude from India. He worked where I worked at; he was always drunk, angry, sexist, and racist. So this guy will certainly spend the rest of his days rotting in prison.

  • Great Vid! Keep up the good work. Mike (INA MA1925)

  • lol, thanks mike.

  • Superior footage and photographs despite the situation. How long did it take to reach four alarms?. One of the best pieces I have seen yet.

  • aprox. 36min from the box alarm to the 4-11. The initial tone out/FD ariving o/s(still alarm) was about 3 min and shortly after that was the request for the still and box. from there on up.

  • Great vid

  • Good video, that's my husbands voice you have at the end of it. lol

  • where about in the video?

  • He's the dispatcher, the whole last minute is him talking.

  • ahh ok, well tell your husband that he did a EXCELLENT job, he always does. thank you very much!

  • great video!!!

  • Thank you.

  • Good video. Was South Holland there? If so why weren't you in town protecting your citizens instead of flying around with a blue light in another town?

  • yes the south holland fire dept was there, but i ended up going to help man/work the mabas 24 canteen.

  • Fair enough. Keep up the good work with Canteen 5... It definitely is appreciated.

  • thank you sir.

  • Great video I like how you plug the tones in.What department do you work for? I think the investigators box went6 higher then two levels.I heard them request help from Kankakee county.

  • I'm associated with the south holland fire department but work on the MABAS 24 canteen. For mabas 24 it went to the 2nd alarm (thats as high as it goes) but yes i will say, there were many FAR OUT OF DISTRICT dept. that came to that fire.

  • do you have to be a firefighter to be on the canteen or do volenteers do it.

  • you have to be associated with the district. no "strangers". mostly thornton fd and some people here and there help man the rig.

  • Great video footage here. Wow, you could even hear the motors of your beacon while you were responding, heh heh...

  • Wow, that's just amazing footage. I used to live in an apartment complex with my family and that was always one of our concerns. The fire department was called out one time because someone went to sleep while cooking and filled their apartment and the bottom stairs apartment with smoke. Fortunately, it didn't catch fire. Awesome video.

  • thank you very much man. be good eb safe! HAPPY NEW YEAR!

  • they just announced that the cause was arson

  • How many fire trucks and firemen responded? More trucks than were needed it looked like.

  • there were aprox 34 fire departments that responded. not sure on how many fire TRUCKS and firefighters were there but they were put to good work, mostly just man power than the use of the actual trucks. thanks for watching!

  • I haven't been to a fire like that in a long time. Great footage, kinda weird seeing yourself on youtube.

  • How many families did this displace?

  • aprox. 70 people were displaced.

  • did it stay at the 4th alarm or did IC do a move up?

  • it did stay to the 4th alarm. There was a investigation alarm to the 2nd level and we did have a interdivisional box so that other departments from another mabas division could cover our division while we worked at the fire.

  • Awesome footage of early fire action, wish I could have been there earlier but you picked up my slack. Keep em coming!

  • thanks mabas, thanks for the pics too, thanks for picking up MY slack when i wasnt able to take much pictures. Have A Happy New Year! Be Good Be Safe!
