  • The Europeans have a distinct way of moving, when they dance to this kind of music, I noticed that German women, who were into Soull and R&B music moved the same way. It looks as if they are a bit off beat, but it's still nice and they are still jammin'!

  • Music with consciousness just smooootthh! 5*****

  • Sends shivers up my spine... sexy tune...

  • Big up the ol school dance heads...Fair to say Fairplay is an Alltime classic...big up to all the Jazzy players...plus Norris "the Boss" Windross ..(Rose's brother)...and all the Funki Dreds of yesteryear!?!...any one know who the backing singers were?... they should've had hits on looks alone!!!?!

  • oh what was the name of that tv show on bbc 2 with normski doing the chitty chat, i'm thinkin no limits, but that cameb4 it didnt it, that had i think jeeny powel and some spotty blond teenage boy doing the links, did normski take over the show or did it have another name.

  • @bryngOneOn!

With Normski it was; Def 2 & Dance Energy during the late 80's - 90's.

    Before that Jenny Powell presented;

    No Limits.

  • Oh I'm so glad I found this!

  • This is, without a doubt, my all-time favourite Soul II Soul tune. No one could have owned "Fairplay" the way Rose Windross owned it. A flawless classic!

  • the best trak really captures the underground scene ....before acid house came along

  • Classic!!!

  • This is so good.

  • The definition of UK Street Soul, as always us Brits have put our own unique spin on things, took the glam & shine off US 80's Soul & run it thru Jah Shaka's sound system & added some funky beats & what you get is the template for many early nineties pirate uk soul

  • @ Enigma Soul II Soul's first album did 2 mil and earned them 2 Grammy's here. Dahell r u tawkin about?? lol...

Man this takes me back to a good time in music. I love what Soul II Soul were all about, good vibes and good music. Yeah, Caron had some pipes, but Ross flipped it on this joint. What was the other lady's name that used to sing with them, the one that got killed?

  • never seen this video...this is a blast from the past!!! it gives me a taste of such a sweet time in life, when music came from the heart and not the pocket. Soul II Soul didn't hit too hard here in the US because of the dollar due to them being ahead of their time here. thanks for the post!!!

  • I miss music like this real music for he soul that has a beat !

  • recenlty found this CD hidden away, now the weather is getting warm, it is nice to blasted this out in the car, especially this track and "keep on moving", wicked.

  • It's amazing how Jazzie B would keep blessing us with great female vocalist. Yes, rose also had the chops. She took this song and squeezed every ounce of emotion she had. Soul 2 Soul was like a university someone would graduate and a new member would take the mike. I would love to see a Soul 2 Soul reunion. for the record Rose Windross made her mark as a member of Soul 2 Soul.

  • == JAY: == Love Soul II Soul 4 LIFE!! "...a happy face, a funkin' bass... for a lovin' race..."

You know how they do!! Peace to Nellee too!!

... USA to the UK... make da funk stay!! ;)

  • It is called Funki Dreads

  • Good song! I love Soul II Soul

  • I went to a gig at the Barbican in London recently and Jazzie B (from Soul II Soul) played a DJ set afterwards. Rose Windross turned up, took off her coat and put down her handbage, picked up a mike and sang live to this. She still looked and sounded just as wicked 19 years on from this video. It was a brilliant night - and I got to give Jazzie B a kiss!

  • OMG...that night will stay with u forever....such a jam! still love it now as much as i did at 15 yrs old!

  • This is the first Soul II Soul single, from 1988. I Love this song!!

  • what year was this? i like the hair doos the black blokes have.

  • This was the jam. I didn't know they had a video for this song.

  • so many people think the same thing! I hope all the boogie lovers get to know! Bless you.

  • Respect to Carron Wheeler, who can argue with such tremendous commercial success, but Rose Windross was really a great talent, this single ranks up there with the best. Where is Rose Windross now?
