  • Its really beautiful, hope u shoot this again in a quiet room cuz youre with a noisy surroundings.

  • THANK YOU! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD I FINALLY FOUND A GREAT COVER OF THIS SONG YOU ARE THE FIRST PERSON I'VE SEEN AND HEARD THAT CAN SING "Your father's dead he passed in his sleep" WITH A GOOD FUCKING TONE AND ALMOST SAME FREQUENCY AS CLAUDIO CUZ NOBODY ELSE ON YOUTUBE

  • Honestly dude? This is an amazing fucking cover. Seriously, well done. This is beautiful.

  • I honestly can't watch this. The people in the room have NO respect...so dumb.

  • very good

unfortunately the people in the room don't seem to shut up!

  • great cover!!!

  • Fantastic! beautiful i wish i could do that (:

  • Yeah definately too crisp of a sound for the song haha. But i liked it. even if it wasnt very good, i would be impressed just because you're doing Coheed. But i really liked this. great voice

  • Singing was great, captured the song perfectly. Guitar? Meh. The Light and the Glass is really built around the guitar lines, and some parts were a bit sloppy. But still a phenomenal cover, especially for a song like this.

  • my god you have a beautiful voice...this song was perfect...

  • good cover girl

  • This is a good cover, but I think next time, go to the people talking and hit them with your guitar :D

  • Great Cover, Girl! Keep up the good work! Most people in my country (Brazil) don't even know Coheed & Cambria.

  • good technique and a great feeling!maybe only the guitar fx need to be improved

  • you're not claudio but you know what

    this is pretty good

but i personally think you need acoustic

otherwise it's raping my ears (nothing against you)

  • this song is extremely difficult to play and sing. I give this girl props. Its takes a lot of guts to get up on stage like that

  • why the fuck are people talking?!

  • Absolutely unreal! Such a great job :)

  • If i was there i would be cheering so loud!!! That was a great cover. I love Coheed and Cambria!

  • Hey I really like this cover, you have a sweet voice. I just uploaded a vid of me playing the intro. It's not perfect because im learning by ear but hey, I enjoy playing it :)

  • plus not to mention how many people in that crowd had even heard this song before?!

  • nice! well done dear..

  • well done! i cant sing and play for sh*t, love to see someone covering good/different songs and not the regurgitated bs

  • this is awesome.

  • This IS an awesome cover!!!!!

    You have talent! :P

I wish I was there in person to feel the energy of your cover.

  • Anyone else want to punch every single unappreciative, ignorant, blind person in that crowd?

  • nice cover

  • I love it. Fantastic.

  • What a fantastically rude crowd.

  • not the best cover, but putting yourself out there gains respect. I think you need to sing with more feeling into it. Scream! cry or get mad while you do it, I'm sure it will make people quiet and pay attention

  • I just hate how the people in the background didn't have enough respect to shut up and listen.

    Very well played.

  • Gosh i wish the poeple at the venue would shut up! im trying to listen! :p

    Pretty cover!

  • I have heard many Coheed covers, this is definately the best.

Its kinda weird hearing it from a girl though.

No offense, it sounds amazing, I have to take any C&C song down an octave when i sing it.

    GREAT job. Keep it up.

  • incutrunks! First of all it's butcher, and second of all she didn't. Don't take it out on her because every women you hit on in a bar that looks like her shuts you down. Take your obscene tiny penis elsewhere....snatch napkin.

  • Man, I totally would've done it on that acoustic in the corner, I kind of thought the phaser was a bit much. Good job though, I wish I could sing like Claudio, although you do have that whole "female" thing going for you. Do you know any other covers of Coheed?

  • I wish so bad that I could hear covers of coheed songs at the bars I go to... with every wish, it's hit or miss.. awesome cover

  • @Ridley72

I assume this is at a bar. When there's live music at a bar you can't expect everyone to be quiet. She is good, but people go to bars to talk and be rowdy.

If this is in fact just a concert that people came to, then yes it is slightly rude to be talking so loud during it. Sounds like a bar to me though.

  • Does anyone ever notice that negative comments always come from people who post no videos themselves? I used to delete the negative remarks to keep people from arguing on here but whatever. Constructive criticism is always appreciated, but blatantly negative remarks posted are so lame. This was, 3 years ago now so I'm not even sure why I'm giving it the amount of attention I am. Point of the story is I can't take someone seriously unless they're doing the same thing I am - posting their shit.

  • @ashestars1 i dig this. ever hit seattle or the surrounding area?

  • @mattxcox No... though I definitely would like to visit! I actually don't do this solo stuff anymore, this is what I do now, it won't let me link it... search for "Party Wolf Plattsburgh" We do a couple classic rock covers but mainly play billboard top 100 pop stuff! haha check it out if you can bear it!

  • I cant believe you would buttcher coheed like that. for shame.....

  • i wanna scream "SHUT THE FUCK UP ASSHOLES!"

  • needs more emotion

  • crowd must die!

    awesome cover

  • Who else wants to find out who was in that crowd and tear them limb-from-limb?

Seriously though, bastards should be shot.

    Fantastic cover.

  • @FatalEden that's pretty normal at shows, not everyone there is there for the music. there's a video on youtube of jerry cantrell and slash playing "got me wrong" acoustic outside of a venue and the crowd is actually louder than this one

  • Beautiful. Simply beautiful. I love the way you played it and I loved your singing.

    Now, for the HATING.

I HATE the crowd!! Completely disrespectful. If they had something to say, they could've at least whispered!! Dumb people! I would've shut them up for you. In a quick second. How disrespectful. I'm so sorry.

  • OMG I LOVE THIS SONG!!!! Amazing cover btw. Coheed and Cambria ftw

  • Awesome! just awesome

  • Ignore those idiots. They don't appreciate good music right in front of their faces.

  • This crowd needs to shut the fuck up, you have a great voice.

  • Thank you, took the words out of my mouth.

  • that guitar sounds awesome!

  • Verrrrry cool, lady! I dig, I dig You did an awesome job portraying a very beautiful song! :D

  • i hate a disrespectful crowd, very good playing, ive played for almost 8 years now and i still lack the skill to sing and play simultaneously, this song is one of my favorites and i think you sang and played it very well

  • Hammer, try tapping your foot every whole beat or whatever your comfortable with. When I just started, everyone said just practice but when i started tapping my foot it made me focus on gtaying with the beat meaning my vocals and playing were more simultaneous. though it isnt perfect at first it WILL take practice

  • Nailed it!!!!!!!!!!

  • very good i know how hard the vocal notes are to hit while playing progressive rock chords

  • why didnt you get up and shoot those faggots in the crowd omfg!>!?!?!?!

  • God i would love nothing more than to hit those ppl in the crowd with a baseball bat! AMAZING COVER!!!!!!!

  • people need to shut the fuck up, but other wise this is really good

  • Pretty good. Too bad those guys in the audience wouldn't shut up. But pretty good.

  • acoustic would have been better but still pretty good

  • That was good, you're very talented! I would say though, it would be somewhat unfair to compare you to C&C, simply because as a singer you and Claudio just sound different. You kind of make the song sound like it was meant to be a folksy, soulful song, while Claudio sings it like a Prog-Ballad. Neither is better than the other (except in opinion), but they just fundamentally sound different.

  • wow your vioce is amazing

okay, u probably get that a lot, but i don't think it can say it any better without writing a poem

  • I love this song. Your amazing. Nothing hotter than a girl that can play guitar, except one that is hot, really good at singing, and picks a great song that has meaning. You are what I want in a girlfriend.

  • A song that has meaning? If you can decipher any metaphor out of these songs that doesn't pertain directly to The Amory Wars, I'd be shocked.

  • So you saying since this song is about The Amory Wars, it doesn't have meaning? That doesn't make sense.

  • No, you suggesting that it is some deep song with vast life metaphors in it. That's what people say when they say a song means something. This song is about a sci-fi stroy, not nearly as meaningful as saying "a song that has meaning" would suggest.

Or when you said "a song that has meaning" did you mean "a song about a comic book sci fi story"?

  • Look, everyone is impressed that you are C&C's biggest fan. They made those comics from their songs. Just because the song is designed for a comic (or a story), doesn't mean it is meaningless or emotionless.

  • And I'm sure everyone is very impressed that you saw how "deep and meaningful" this song is. You're looking to far into it.

  • huh?

  • The songs have a double meaning, the inspiriation for what happens in the story comes from meaningful things in Claudio's life. The inspiration i s then given a sci-fi twist to make it interseting. He isn't looking to far into, you aren't looking far enough.

  • Look one way or another, whether applied to you're viewing the song through the Amory Wars or Claudio's life, which are kind of like parallels anyways, it all boils down to simple concepts. When you say things like "this song is so meaningful," it just gives off the impression that you're trying to sound intellectual and pour more thought and praise and things that don't need it.

  • You did an amazing job, this is my favorite Coheed song and you nailed it, will you marry me? LOL

  • wow! amazing you're really good.

  • wonderful job!

  • god she's pretty.

    and she's amazing.

  • wow, the people there were being total jerks! I want to hear the girl sing! This is like my favorite soft song of CoCa's I've ever heard!

  • it doesnt make you a bad guitarist to use tabs.

  • Great Job. Honestly I adored it.

  • Please send a new light and the glass cover!

  • I've actually been waiting forever for a girl singer to cover Coheed, I've always thought it would be absolutely incredible and you proved me completely correct here.

  • nice job, I love coheed! You played at nectar's in VT? live in milton, maybe i'll see you do it again sometime ;)

  • Looking through all these comments, I can honestly say that I think the ones who are saying the cover is "horrible, shouldn't be done, etc." are honestly all moronic, biased baboons who couldn't understand good music if it bit them in the ass. Who cares if you don't sound like Claudio? You did wonderful in your own way. It was beautiful.

  • She uses the same tabs I use. :)

  • Granted. But tabs are an excellent tool for behinners to learn their favorite song. I used tabs early on. But now I've been able to figure out songs on guitar by ear, as you said.

  • that is good to hear tho i gotta admit....theres too many people out there that go by tabs then when they get hooked into a band or somthing theyre clueless as to anything thats really going on and basically unable to come up with thier own unique parts bc theyre use to someone doing it for them

  • I think it's important to learn music by ear, as I do for almost everything I play on guitar and piano, IF YOU ARE ABLE. In cases where it's a really intricate part (like this), which are often hard to pick apart by ear I definitely use tabs. Why work so hard at something if it's so easily accessible? Some people really CANT learn things by ear. It doesn't make them LESS TALENTED. As a teacher I've seen EXCELLENT players who ONLY read sheet music, or tabs in this case.

  • Things are HARDER for them but they are NOT less tallented.

  • i probably shouldntve used the word talen at all haha... im not really sure the words to go with but i think you get the jist of what im saying. i think if you were to break it down and truely argue it, one of teh things that would make a musician a bit above those other musicians is being able to pick things apart and figure them out for yourself. for me its a pride thing, plus its somthign ive put years and years into, somthing i dont wanna take the easy way out for.

  • @texazranger04 I have been playin like 5 years and i use tabs.. I dont have the time to pick apart songs by ear (or the ability). But it doesnt make a difference in how i connect to the song.. I get freakin into it

  • Strat with humbuckers?? sweet

  • fat strat i believe

  • THATS AWESOME!!! people in the background need to shut it lol

  • Hell yea! Its nice to see other chicks who can actually play! Awesome song, and I'd like to see the assholes who rip on you to do it better. Props

  • holy shit she's awesome..and hot

  • Really good job I thought. Most people don't realize just how fucking difficult that song is.

  • haha thanks - the comments started off really positive, then for the past few months I've been getting ripped apart. All a part of being a musician though :)

  • job well done...guitar was on key the whole way thru but i have to agree, it does sounds a little "held back"...keep up the good work!

  • this is my favorite song by coheed and cambria

    my favorite album ♥

  • i don't care for the singing much, but the guitar was spot on!

  • sounds too restricted and held back, it's good but.. it sounds too proper and uncoheedy - catch my drift? you're cute too =]

  • oh and i forgot to mention, the palm muting sounds kinda shitty, should work on that...

  • yaaaaaa no kidding. The action on the low E string still hasn't been fixed to this day. I'm entirely too lazy.

For ANYONE ELSE who wants to say "use an acoustic guitar" I PROMISE there are more video's coming, and you'll be happier.

And PS. Not my guitar in the background... :)

  • u have a god dam acoustic guitar... freaken use that for this song...

  • i like it.. but It would be better if it was more intense. :)

  • The point is... don't do covers if your not gonna sound good. Thats why I hate cover bands cause they destroy good music and think they are cool doing it.

  • i get ya. I did not see your other comments and for that I apologize.

  • U did a good job n the music sounds ok,but I don't understand y u would play this song solo w/ an electric guitar. Its barely a song the way u played it.If u were going 2 do it by urself, y not just play it acoustic the way Claudio does it.I read ur post about playing a cover n 2 an extent i agree, u should put ur own feel 2 it.but if a song is sung n played in a particular key n u can't sing in that octive and dont change the key you play in 2 reflect ur voice its not goin 2 sound good.

  • I disagree. Sorry you don't like it.

As for the choice of electric, I've explained it at least 5 times in the previous comments, go back and look if you're still curious.

  • Maybe not, I guess I hit on the fact that it was my first solo show. I've played in bands since I was 15, and therefore have always played electric. Until about a year ago, which was when this was taped, I rarely played accoustic and was asked to do this show. My fingers just were not strong enough for the thicker strings at that point. Since then, I've worked a lot playing acoustic. I would have never played this show if I couldn't have played electric.

  • who gives a shit? it's a cover... it's meant to be fun.

  • simply epic !! hope you can upload more ash !! great job !!

  • major props to this girl.. I think thats gonna leave me impressed for the next month. haha

  • haha I need some new vid's bad though... thank you :)

  • Did these guys to come watch a show or is this coffee hour. Please shut up during a performance or gtfo.

  • Well done. You've got talent. Keep up the good work, oh' year and theres to meny pepole talking during your peformence, you deserve a better audience.

  • pretty good...i am not a huge fan of girls singing Claudio's vocal melodies because since girls have a naturally higher voice they don't put as much "mph" into the parts that need it...like "your fathers dead he passed in his sleep"...you need to yell and make your face all squinty, lol

  • I hate to break it to you, but Claudio is a superior being! I definitely have a hard time singing his stuff hahaha I'm very self-concious, so the face getting all squinty doesn't happen very often :( No, but for real, I'm an alto. It's not as easy as you'd think!

  • oh i know it's not easy...i'm a bass...i have to sing everything of his an octave lower

  • Claudio has a few low bits in some of his songs, how do you manage with that? Oh, I nearly forgot - awesome job of singing this live!

  • I have to sing it an octave above =/ Still works for me... some people don't seem like like it, but I do what I can!

  • Octave above?! That would mean hitting a D6 for the high note at "father" and "low notes" of G4 hehe. You're on key and octave, Claudio just has a fuller voice since he's a guy and it makes him sound deeper than you.

BUT ANYWAYS lol great cover. I really enjoyed it. Smooth and serene

  • ... well, the first verse IS sung an octave above where Claudio sings it... I took a lot of crap about it from people on cobalt and calcium when I posted this.

  • Oh I see now, my bad. Still it's kinda silly they gave you crap... It's a cover, and you do what you can, sheesh. Sounds lovely still ^^

  • Claudio's a musical genuis!

  • Max, I love you. You've posted the most comments on my youtube, and for that, you ROCK!

  • very nice cover, i would of used harder and faster picking and a nicer sound from your guitar for the part where it speeds up.. it just makes the song more powerful

  • For a girl singing in the place of Claudio, well done. I wish the people in the background would shut up. You have a good voice. Have you sang the whole song before? I don't like the skipping around you did.

  • skipping around?

  • I think he means not playing it in order.. although.. I didn't notice anything wrong with it. Nice job!

  • "he" is a she :)

  • I still love you!

  • Needs work. Not bad though.

  • well i hope i wasn't sounding like a jerk i really would marry you however awkward that sounds lol

  • haha, no... that was some douche that said I should leave coheed songs to coheed. I've had a few marriage proposals in the comments from this video... you've got some competition! haha, but really, thanks!

  • I'm not good with jerks... so if your comment gets deleted, it's because you're a jerk.

  • Awesome. Awesome Voice, Music, And Everything. Absolutelt gorgeous. Constructive criticism would be to express yurself more. Especially in The "IF YOU GET PUT TO SLEEP!!" part, hat's a high energy line. It's still Very good tho. I love Coheed, So I'd love to see more covers, let me know if you make any more.

  • not bad at all

  • will you marry me please

  • Wow, you NAILED the song. I enjoyed that very much, thank you for that.

Most people who play this song cop out of most of the really high notes but you did an excellent job with them. I personally have to sing an octave lower when I play this and even then I can't hit some of the higher notes. Great job.

  • Just some suggestions nothing critical, i thought it was really good, now i'm gonna check out your other video, maybe i'll find this whole comment was for nothing cuz you already changed a bunch of things. If you can't find the song or don't wanna buy the dvd, just im me (same screen name as username on here) i'll send it to you. Oh yeah and perform for a nicer bunch of people who aren't so drunk.

    Peace

  • I have the dvd... I bought it the day it came out. If you go back far enough in these comments, you'll see that this was my first solo show and whatever the song was lacking was based on nerves. I've grown comfortable playing in bands and playing solo was a little different for me. Thanks for listening though.

  • Unfortunately they don't have the performance i'm talking about on youtube, and maybe you've already seen it a bunch of times, but if you haven't I strongly suggest checking it out. Its from their dvd "live at the starland ballroom" (great to watch just as a coheed fan). If thats just your style then keep it up, but considering Claudio wrote it you may want to try to emulate his style for this song.

  • listen to claudio do this on acoustic at the starland ballroom, thats how I practiced performing it. You should try it acoustic also. Musically speaking it was very good, but yeah its almost as if you practiced good vocal technique too much(if that makes sense) for this song, don't be afraid to belt that shit at certain parts.

  • it was beautiful although lacked a little emotion.

  • Good job, but next time I see a video of you playing this song, i expect to hear you use that beautiful voise of yours to its greatest extent. Like Claudio..you played it wounderfully, But it sounded like you were forced to learn it like a choir song.. Put some more love into it darling.

  • and that croud was quite disrespectful.

  • i think you did a different """version"""" of light and the glass but this version is very good. its not a nessecity that it's like the original. :)

  • She did THE version that is possible to do with ONE guitar and ONE voice. Pick up Live at the Starland Ballroom and watch Claudio play it almost the exact same way.

Ashe has got some serious balls to go out there and do that song. Fact: Co&Ca RARELY play this song live because there's so much going on it it. She owned it. Shame that the audience was filled with a bunch of dicks.

  • Don't listen to that asshole, Love. You did a FANTASTIC job. This is one of my favorite songs, by one of my FAVORITE bands, and you fucking NAILED it. Awesome. Wish I could shred and sing as well as you.

  • I'm usually good with constructive criticism but ouch man. Rhythmically wrong? Pitch errors? I'm not even going to hit on the comment about the fact that it was "good because I'm a girl" and I don't have any competitors. Damn dude. I hope the content of your comment is this shitty because you're an ESL (English as a second language learner).

  • Im not sure if actually tried to sing it exactly like original, but few vocal parts had some pitch errors(im not sure how to express this, english aint my first language) and almost every vocal part were rhytmically wrong. But overally was average and in girls series even excellent(due to lack of competitors). Also extra points for covering such a good band as this.

  • i hate that audience. wish they would shut up.

you have a beautiful voice, and are SO good at this.

  • You did a really good job at the end going from low to high like that. you do a good job of staying on pitch throughout the whole song aswell.

    Great cover.

  • one of the better song by coheed and cambria

  • One of **best song** by coheed and cambria

    sorry for my english

  • Beautiful.

Not an easy song to play by any means, Claudio would be proud!

  • Are you taken by any chance? ^_^

  • hahahaha.... yes, I am! He's the one recording this... ;)

  • Dammit, oh well im only 17, im sure i'll find another girl who can play coheed and cambria one day... oh who am i kidding *cries*

  • Looks like you got a new fan, Ash.

  • I just fell in love....im not kidding.

  • hahaha.... very cute ;)

  • i wish that crowd would shut up and listen!

    your voice is sooo beautiful!

  • You did great, girl!

  • this girl is amazing

  • hahahaha... whyyyyy thank you!

  • I can barely hear you by the audience.. OH well nice guitar playing xD and pretty voice.

  • great job.

  • Awesome! You do the best female cover of Co&Ca on this site, by far.
