@ericyanikov Yes, art is created in a culture and in a context -- but if it is great art it eventually transcends both; and then it belongs to all humanity and all the ages. Example: The Rolling Stones wrote "Gimme Shelter" in the context of the social chaos and generational splits of the late 60's in North America and Western Europe. People too young to remember or from other cultures don't know this and don't care: such songs endures because they make your hair stand on end just the same.
