  • appropriate title for the song. Jack definitely ripped this off. like all his other shit too

  • @axe187187 it's called a cover shithead. led zeppelin "stole" a lot of their shit from traditional blues song too, doesn't make their music any less good.

  • @axe187187 wow, you arnt a douche bag who apparently doesnt understand what the fuck a cover is

  • @DBC98989 hey thanks! I appreciate that.

  • what pedal did he use for the solo?

  • @DeckardA1A1 I believe a Digitech Whammy. They are amazing, though somewhat expensive, they run about $200 new.

  • Jack is one intense beautiful SOB!!!

  • I'm going to sound like a hippy Woodstock wanker but "I was there maaaaan" front row.

This gig will forever be stamped in my memory, I remember the ballroom floor literally bouncing under my feet.. What an amazing night!

  • OH GOD JACK WHITE AND MEG JUST ARE AMAZING AND SEXY WITH THEIR AMAZING DRUNK SKILLS AND GUITAR OMG I DIED.

  • yeah i plan on wearing all red... at the next show i do... foreal. red velvet pants

  • fun to play song. hard solo, cant play it :s

  • @reidotrance so play your own solo. don't try to play it exactly like the original. never try to do that. always try to create your own sound.

  • @spot1333 yeah, you're right ;)

  • meg whites a hot peice of ass

  • jack white is what happens unstoppable force that meets a guitar

  • Peter Gunn meets Screaming Lord Sutch...

  • for a 2 band members they sound like an orchestra like the muse

  • @otherworldtrader1 I think he is too old to prove anything to anybody.

  • The guitar is amazing...his voice is amazing.....i love jack white.

  • does anyone know where to get the lyrics for this?

  • i heard when he did the wengland liverpool he did alot ofdrugs and meg is a xanax person she has bad aniexty

  • @may301985 They canceled a tour because of Meg's anxiety in 2007, but it was because Jack came off going full speed with two bands and she couldn't take it. And Jack White has kicked an interviewer out for lighting a joint around him, I seriously doubt he does anything.

  • @Lucifersteapot i fucking disagreee they have dobne their share of drugs just means they dont use now or at the time they chose not to i refuse to believe jack and meg never partyed fuckthat

  • Jack and Meg together is a freight train out of control......Fuckin great

  • LINK WRAY :D white stripes, you guys are the best duet (spelling)

  • Is it just me or isn't this the hottest drummer chick we've ever seen? As a drummer dude, I'm so sorry she couldn't have my children. :P

  • the solo sounds and feels like the DENTIST doing something hardcore (but in a good way)

  • Give Jack White a guitar and you have created a GOD

  • I LOVE JACK WHITE

  • A fitting tribute to one of Britain's greatest ever historical figures: Screaming Lord Sutch.

  • he's a fucking blowtorch, freight training his way out of hell's ass.

  • Never a woman could to what Jack just did to me: make me cum in less than a minute and a half.

  • JACK IS HAVING A RIPPING TIME. DAVID SUTCH WOULD BE PLEASED. Regards, Colin Dale Radio Sutch.

  • SCREAMING LORD SUTCH FTW

  • I hope there will be a reunion. I have unfortunately never seen them life. They are the only band I've really admired. I grew up with their music so when I heard that the band has been dissolved, to me it was like an era has just come to its end. =(((

  • 4 reason unknow i want to kill prostituds ...... with my knife... >:D

  • @Pantalones909 psycho

  • Planet Claire.

  • @shibbiguy95

The riff was first used in the Peter Gunn theme by Henry Mancini. But yeah, it's the same riff as Planet Claire.

  • thats her name for him when theyre in bed.

  • jack the ripper >: / !! ! !

  • Anyone else thinking he sounds a little like MJ in the beginning...?

  • @WesMott1994 yes

  • Amazing guitarist man

  • @sebastian6736

I’m walking down the street, late at night.

    Jack the ripper…Jack the ripper.

Fools little gold and suffer a little here.

    Jack the ripper…Jack the ripper.

    Hey…peck and lonely

I said “let go o’ me”

Got by me, back and forth and almost got me.

    Jack the ripper…Jack the ripper.

  • @insomniacXXX1 Yes, that's what I found when I googled it too, but those are not the lyrics Jack sings in this version. Only the first and fifth lines are correct :S (apart from when he says "Jack the Ripper"). Thanks anyway!

  • seems like the ripper is still alive...

  • Screamin Lord Sutch

  • Peter Gunn. Look it up douchebags.

  • Could anyone transcribe the lyrics and post them as an answer to this please? Thanks!

  • Jack is a beast..I have their blackpool lights preformance on vhs

  • Perfect example of a nice short guitar solo.

  • im making a sorta 'album' of covers of great songs like this, my list so far consists of jack the ripper and louie louie. Id love to have about ten songs before i record. Im looking for simple, straight forward rock and roll, this song is a great example, any ideas. message me. cheers

  • That guitar is his bitch because he ripped it so much

  • I like that Peter Gunn style guitar.

  • Holy shit this is awesome! Is this a cover?

  • @fatandshort Yeah there are a lot of version of this song. One of them is by Screaming Lord Sutch another by an American garage band called The One Way Streets.

  • @DrewBludd Ah ok thank you :)

  • @fatandshort Yes.

  • I LOVE the way Meg's stool has her name on - like she'll lose it?

  • im so jealous of meg's drums. she doesnt play the drums, she makes love to them. dont believe me? watch her facial expressions and tell me shes not getting pleasure out of it too

  • i love Meg's primitive drum beat

  • EFFIN LOVEEE ITTT Check it my music on my page

  • WHAT CONCERT IS THIS!!! they have so many good songs

  • @bojivemasterman Under Blackpool Lights

  • jack is our generation's jimi hendrix

  • @NICxDANGER HELLYEAH!!!

I'ma a bassist of a few years, and just listening to this guy, makes me want to buy a shit guitar, and just whale on it.

But idk if I wanna go there, I think he's one of the few that can make it work haha

  • @pitbull103 Meg most certainly is an excellent drummer. She's been my drumming idol ever since I first picked up my first pair of drumsticks

  • Put those microphones REALLY close to the drums and you get a wicked powerful sound even from a small woman. She's an excellent drummer.

  • i love how he combines the riff from peter gunn

  • White Stripes, a Vortex Bong and a few beers and life is good....

  • Comment removed

  • @sbritt1994

    Toss that in my Vortex:)

  • I never knew a song about a murderous psychopath could be so awesome xD

  • 0:23 turn that fucker up!!!

  • only jack white can make a guitar scream like that

  • Eliot quanto tempo*---*

    kapskapskapsa

  • Elliotprice vc por aqui!!

  • L., seu destino será igual ao de Mary Ann Nichols! Apenas com uma diferença crucial: encerado no final...

  • Comment removed

  • @eliotprice otimo eliot!

    Obrigada viiu?

    pode acreditaar, eu levo essa!

  • But I think the best version of Jack the Ripper (aka Peter Gunn) is belong to Emerson, Lake & Palmer. Especially Keith Emerson's solo on his fucking Moog.

  • god damn jack is a fucking freight train

  • @ffatboijosh This is a practical demonstration of moving heaven and earth.

  • Comment removed

  • @ffatboijosh haha what you said. I've seen them twice, seems like it was a dream. People ask me about it and I don't know what to say..........twas hit by a freight train, yeah that's it.

  • Main riff of it looks like Peter Gunn Theme

  • @DoctorGonzo32 it is! it is! =D

  • I LOVE JACK!!!!

  • This live is a nuclear explosione

  • Great band! I always said that White Stripes are one of the few last babies of the great rock n roll dinosaurs. I don't mean to offend all you fanatics out there, but am i the only one who thinks that the main riff is inspired from the famous peter gunn theme?

  • @suntfierbinte it definitely is. normally i hate ripped off riffs, but this time it just works great. no pun intended btw

  • Meg I love you

  • the horrors did this song

  • @elliottvongrim yeah, a lot of people have

  • @elliottvongrim Hes covering it from them right?

  • @Trailraya

nooooo! its from Screaming Lord Sutch.

and im not sure but i guess the horrors kind off covered the white stripes version.

  • @kukelekuu Oh wow, I never heard the original, always assumed it was a Horror original. Regardless all the versions are great.

  • @kukelekuu the horrors probably copied the one by the gruesomes- it's more their genre. I could be wrong, of course...

  • @thatonechick77 yeah but the white stripes were the FIRST (to my knowledge) to combine the screaming lord sutch version of 'jack the ripper' with the riff from the 'peter gunn' theme so the gruesomes AND the horrors are covering the stripes cover. is it me or is this getting complicated?

  • dude thats flippen meg white! y u like her?!

  • This Song ist one of the best i`ve ever heart .

  • That thing at 0:34 he does sounds so fucking awesome lol

  • His voice is so powerful in this song, it makes me want to go kick some fucking ASS!

  • Hey Jack bring it BOY!!!

  • this is a fuckin' badass cover. saw The Vasco Era cover it in Brisbane last night.

  • To me this is one of the best versions of Jack the Ripper, if not the best.

  • anyone knows what fuzz pedal he udes in this vid?

  • @FunFret EDIT: used***

  • @FunFret big muff pi

  • i'm not an expert but i think he uses the biggest piece of shit $50 sears kids guitar in these songs. he showed it in "it might get loud" to make a point. it wasn't even wood. it looked like this one anyway. he's just way out there musically. just fearless as hell.

  • @elmariachiterry it's a pretty rare guitar and he only has two of them so it's probably the same one. One of em can cost up to $3000, it aint no Sears guitar man.

  • @1chamberlain1 yes, it is a sears guitar. it's an Airline which was a Sears brand in 50s and 60s, made by Valco (who also made Supro brand guitars). if they're expensive now it's just because the price has been ridiculously inflated due to the white stripes popularity. They were relatively inexpensive guitars. That doesn't mean they're crap, or a "kids guitar" though, other people have been known to play them before him because they have a great sound.

  • @paintbokx Yeah I know now, I just saw him talk about it on It Might Get Loud. Still, can't be too bad of a guitar if he loves it so much

  • ironically Meg is good for jacks knife.

  • I was there! Winner!

  • ha! at first I thought it said Jack the Stripper

  • well he was also a killer - look him up!

  • no dissrespect but when ever I see jack white I think of brandon lee in the crow ghost white rocker from detroitt with long black hair that cover they face. never seen jack fight so I

  • dylan cover first then they break into jack da ripper

  • spy hunter rules

  • hendrixx is #1 white is #2

  • Absolutely...jimi's my favorite dead guitarist, Jacks my favorite living.

  • member that old game spy hunter with the car member this was the theme of the game but wit no words lol

  • i looked it up your totally right! even the solo! haha but i gotta say jack does it better

  • that whammy pedal just got molested ! ... in a good way though

  • To my knowledge the original is by Lord Sutch and Friends in the 60 s

  • is the same guitar riff as in Peter Gunn - The Art Of Noise

  • uhmm this is not a "shit cover" and iys not a motorhead song..... 0_0

  • Motorhead song? are you stupid? and ooh sorry are they breaking the "rules" by not having a bass? I mean for god's sake are people still this closed minded?

  • damn gotta find this dvd its somewhere in my hellhole of a room

  • He was in the middle of a tour...how exactly would you want him to sound?

  • oh, man wtf good band!

We dont have in lithuania one:(

  • Cool sounds.

  • 0:41-0:47 gave me chills..

  • peter gunn meets rock

  • ily white stripes mosh pits.

  • That girl on drums is HOTTTT

  • @MrDreamer It's Meg White, Jack's sister.

  • @AnonymousChoppstick

Meg is Jack's ex-wife, not his sister.

Yes, I know in many interviews he calls 'her his sister Meg' but they're actually ex hubby and wife.

Oh and Jack took her last name, White, and after the separation he kept it.

  • @MrDreamer You made me poop my pants

  • @jarbo26 haha why?

  • @MrDreamer just think about it ;D

  • @MrDreamer That girl is Meg

  • @MrDreamer Haha. "That girl"? Nice.
