It's called airhiking, it's for escaping from your opponent by continuously jumping backwards in the air. It is cancelled if the opponent switch planes though. He was doing it because he had gotten chakra sealed.

yes when hes in his awakening he breaths out purple smoke that poisons and damages too i think atleast the poison does crazy damage :D
