It is not from a musician who cannot figure out what to do... It is a perfect situation to express that paralytic state of shock / grief - everthing stops, nothing goes forward.

A singular and amazing song. The man is In a genre apart. No wonder he has the respect and friendshhip of Renee Fleming and others from the classical art music arena.

This album has kind of sunk without trace in Britain, which is a tragedy because it's easily his best since Want one. Then again, sad songs that seem to be about sadness don't really sell, do they?
