  • ...Japanese, the word..has so many connotations. The 442nd Regimental Combat team was all nisei....Japanese-American men born here in the USA...citizens......and they remain to this day the most highly decorated combat outfit in all of USA history......in fact, after Pearl Harbor, the call went out for Asian enlistees...in Hawaii......they needed 200........2,600 showed up....few veterans even know this..I am a Vietnam veteran on 100% service connected disability.......

  • I believe this march was written expressly for the movie Bridge on the River Kwai to accompany the scene where the British soldiers march into the work camp whistling Colonel Bogey. It is simply called "Countermarch". I hever heard it played in full before. It can stand on its own anytime. Thanks for finding it and posting.

  • according to wikipedia it's written expressly for the movie, and was mixed up with the Colonel Bogey Marsh later on, and becoming a world hit

  • Inspiring. I don't get tired of hearing it. Had a bad day? Play this and the turn the knob to the right a couple of extra notches.

  • I from japan. sorry I can not good at English.

It is not a historical fact.

    Many are dramatized.

    The original author said,

It became a prisoner of war by the non-colored race.

the whole life forgets -- there is nothing.

At a movie, they are an original and a difference.

It was dissatisfied in having incorporated friendship with Japanese people.

In after years,Movie With Planet of the Apes,Japanese people were canceled by having carried out the simile to the monkey.

    but movie is good.
