I first saw this footage sometime in the first quarter of 2008. An online Gundam model store slated this for a mid-summer 2008 release, but summer came and went, but no MG Guntank. The listing vanished from the site, and I've not heard a single thing about this since. SO WHAT HAPPENED!?! It's right there! It's working properly. There doesn't seem to be any problems with it. What reason does Bandai have for not releasing it? If anyone could help shed some light on this matter, I'd appreciate it.

im completely with you munky, i also would like too know wth happened to our beloved guntank

but i can see that there might be 3 problems with releasing it now

1. sales for this would probably do that well since the price tag does say 10000 yen (roughly 120 USD)

2. most likely pulled due too not big enough fanbase in japan for guntank

3. probably redesigning for whatever reason :/

I suppose that those are all reasons (or excuses) that Bandai wouldn't want to release it. But, I think even despite the price tag, people would buy it. Besides, there's already several versions of the MG RX-78-2, and a MG Guncannon; a MG Guntank is LONG overdue. If it's such a problem to have the RC control in the model, then perhaps if they leave it out, they could release it for far less cost and avoid any technical issues. But then again, the RC is what make this unique... What a quandary...

well it is pretty sad, me and my friends have been waiting for a MG Guntank for god knows how long.

and of course they would have multiple versions of the RX-78-2 gundam, its the gundam to start it all off!!!

also i realized multiple people on here are saying they never made a MG Guncannon, they did, a loong time ago and even to this day was one of my favorite builds :]

I know Guncannon is pretty old, but I've kind of observed the time flow of how MGs were so poor in the beginning, and now so much better. According to my observations, MG Guncannon came out just when MGs were beginning to rise up in quality; around the same time as the awesome MG G Gundam kits, which are still pretty good even today. I want a MG Guncannon, but I don't get it because I don't know how good it really is, and I'd want the Guntank to go with it, anyway. So how good is MG Guncannon?

my only real complaint about the MG Guncannon is the plastic quality of the parts that come in white. its that very old brittle feeling from like the GM Custom and the 1.0 RX-78-2

the panel line markers dont work well on it. besides that its a phenomenal kit. very surprised for such an early kit :]

That doesn't sound too bad. And, because of that, I'm sure a ver 2.0 is a long way off yet. Still, I probably won't be rushing out to get it any time soon. I think I'll wait and see until we know for sure if this Guntank will be released or not.

I have to disagree with the original statement that "It's working properly. There doesn't seem to be any problem with it. " You can see it jerking after half a second every time it moves and he's constantly moving the remote around and retrying. Each time it just jerks a little. It seems like they're using the terribly inferior IR control instead of RF control. You have to make sure the remote has direct line of sight contact with the sensor. Just like a TV remote.

That does sound plausible. Now that I watch this again, I think you may be right. I hope Bandai fixes the problem soon (whatever it really is) so they can finally release it.

I actually wonder why they are doing that at all, why not just make a guntank model like all the others? Why do they feel they have to make it RC just because it has tank treads... none of my other gundam models move, I don't think I need this one to since it's just gonna sit on a shelf. We just want a Guntank Model!! Don't you agree?? =)

I know exactly where you're coming from. I enjoyed building my HGUC Guntank just fine as it is. And, it IS supposed to be just a model after all. Still, I think it would be a great departure from the norm to build an RC model kit. But, I say, if troubles with the RC is what is keeping this kit from being released, I'd say leave it out. If they can get it fixed, fine; I'd love to build an RC Guntank. But otherwise, if they can't fix it, I say just do the Guntank without it. WE WANT GUNTANK! xD
