My sister lived in Paris, France for several years in early '90s as a student studying abroad.

Everytime she went to public parks to meet someone,

in every 3 to 5 minutes, a couple of Paris police officers came to her & asked her to show them the identification paper.

When she had to wait 20 minutes in the park, she was asked to show papers about 4 or 5 times. No kidding!

Well, US is not like that. Thank God!
