  • i just tried this and i dont know how to put it back together :(

  • DOESN"T WORK FOR SPRINT!!!!!!!!!! D:

  • @777codbeast: Of course! Its apple, just different carriers..

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks very much your video was right on. The only thing I would do is mark the screws that come out of the top shield cover as they are I believe 5 screws and they are different. would be much easier the 2nd time and I wore gloves as to not leave finger oil. Thank you

  • Disassembly part was fine but did not appreciate the "reassembly" which was just the video in reverse. Would be nice to have the full talk through as I ended up having to check another video.

  • I change front glass and digitizer. It turns on, but keep black. When I connect iPhone to iTunes and it works perfectly.

  • i did it yeah and when i go on the home page it resprings why is that? help please

  • does this work with verizon?

  • i liked this video but man I'm still scared to take my iPhone 4s apart like that lol.

  • Dankje xxxx

  • CAN WE REPLACE JUST THE GLASS??... NO WAY. So why does ebay (or others) sell just the glass?? There is NO WAY that just the glass can be replaced without a fight! I happen to have an extra front glass (glass only). I tried to get the glass out..... NO FREAKIN WAY! The whole thing is totally GLUED together. First thing I do while attemping to pull glass off... Destroyed the LCD. Its SO fragile! I can see, you GOTTA BUY THE WHOLE ASSEMBLY. $40 on ebay

  • So why am I watching this video! Cause I just dropped my iphone and broke the glass.. Had thoughts about selling with the broken lcd, then said forget about getting a sale. People are afraid of taking my word that its a $40 fix, they think Im hiding another kind of defect, since they cant operate the phone. So Im just gonna buy the part do it myself and save myself from losing too much money

  • Which carrier is this iPhone for? Verizon Sprint AT&T ?

Also, is the interior the same as the 4S?

  • Comment removed

  • @karynmiles the not cool part is that the eBay seller sold you that knowing that it would not fix your iPhone. Even worse is selling just glass without the digitizer. Ask for a refund.

  • @karynmiles you should watch the whole thing before doing anything with your phone

  • thanks for the help man i just changed mine and it works great AAAA++++++++++++++++ FOR YOU ????? thanks again

  • How do we know if it works again if you didn't show us.

  • is this different from an iphone 4s?

  • Okay. I will definetly not try and do this myself.

  • does this also work for the iphone 4s? Are the tiny switches etc. similarly placed?

    thanks for this

  • After replacing the front glass, my signal is gone. Please help!!!

  • Mine is the older version for the iPhone 4. My screen wont show. The backlight turns on but I can't see the.screen. If I get a new screen, when I do this, would it work?

  • @KarotiVerch yep

  • after replacing screen, i notice my wifi signal is really weak. any suggestions

  • @khambeuy if the top shield. specifically the longest screw that holds it in place isn't installed on the iPhone 4. That will cause the iPhone to have a weak wifi signal.

  • just wanted to give 2 tips:

1: my battery was glued in pretty good, so i had to remove the main board and the speaker assembly and then get the battery out, which was still hard at the end without trying to damage it

    2. the screws with the washers that hold the screen, (3 on each side) don't have to be completely removed, just loosen them as much as you can without removing the actual screw and the screen will still be removable, the 4 in the corners will have to be removed

  • no need to buy the sheet guys, just print screen it and enlarge a bit and good 2 go :)

  • Where can I buy a new glass screen and LCD screen, because I am replacing it??? Please reply

  • @Skatrlife09 in the video description there are links to all the items needed to replace your screen

  • can i have this iphone for free

  • Very good tutorial, thank you. But now my home button doesn't work :(

  • Comment removed

  • My home button isn't working plus I can't charge it... Anyone got any dolutions

  • I work for an electronics repair company called GoTronics and I just wanted to say this is a very well made video and the instructions are done very well. This is the number one phone we get and it is 99% for a broken screen repair.

  • Would just like to point out from a previous post that my Red iPhone still looks awesome!! I had to take my phone apart again because my on/off button was broken and after repairing it I've been having problems with my proximity sensor. If you do change your screen just remember this is a well know problem with the iPhone 4. ;-)

  • @alkillen, The post was quite long so YouTube have posted it as two comments. The comments go in reverse order ;-)

  • I am looking for a used iPhone 4. Can anyone help me. Lol

  • The 4S is just the same or the interior is different?

  • Just did this conversion and my phone is on but the screen is not working please help!!!

  • @Blondy1088 you may have forgotten to re attach the screen cable ribbon..i did that my first time.

  • Jammin I replaced the screen now it won't light up but the phone is working

  • remove the vibrator (x

  • @jammin138 what in this video do i actually have to buy? and is there a cheaper screen that you know of?

  • How come mine doesnt have the small cover near the batteries connector mine iphone hace pentalope screw.

  • speaker mesh make sure it's got the sticky glue residue on it. If you haven't (like me) you can just get some tweezers and pull it off the old screen and stick it onto the new one. Thanks for the vid! My phone looks awesome! ;-)

  • Hey, would just like to say I've brought the Red conversion kit off eBay and installed it using this video. Went perfectly and if you follow the steps it's not that hard. Just remember the screws are ridiculously small!! I got myself a large sheet of paper and replicated the circles as on the video just to make sure I knew were everything was. The only tips i'd add to this video is that the battery on my phone was stuck down so I had to use a bit of force to get it out. Also, when removing the

  • @jammin138 when removing the?......seriously..o want to know. i need all the tips i can get....

  • Is it just me, or have apple made it more difficult to do the easy jobs compared to the 3rd generation iPhones? The most common damage done on iPhones (well, any phone really) is a broken lcd or digitizer, and they've made it more complicated to get to...

  • @leebee1989 its coz apple wants you to pay them to fix it

  • Has anyone tried out this and completed it? Is it difficult? Hope you guys answer me ! :)

  • @arsenalhansi1 it is rather easy, but be carfull and put all back correct

  • the right hand side of the screen does not work when i replaced it?

  • That's not the the faint of heart, i misplaced the tiny screws at least 3 times, but it's doable. I could've only done with the help of this video. Thank you!

  • @prochafilho use a magnet and as u disassemble put the screws you pull out onto it so they dont roll away. Using multiple magnets helps specially where different size screws are in question.

  • @iPOwLinda lol

  • thank you! i have just done the repair! thank youuuuuu!!!

  • have anyone done this before and ur iphone doesnt work anymore? like some weird colors on the screen etc...?

  • ooooohhhhhhhhh smart boy yes yes

  • perfectly explained, i liked the paper you are working on :)

  • when you put the new Digitizer screen on you dont put any adhesive?

  • easier to change the transition on a civic

  • exact 2:54 lol

  • Thanks for the video - worked great for me. First try and everything was working other than the vibrator. had to re-seat that and then all was good. A word of warning though, the $35 (shipped) display that I bought off ebay works fine, but looks washed out and streaky. I'm sure I'll be doing another replacement when I find a reputable seller with OEM displays.

  • im gonna post my first attemp at following along with this, i have a severelerly cracked front glass,,,everything works fine, camera touch sensitivity, the glide works fine and what not, but it looks fucking horrible, i hear its a 12$ fix kit from amazon im gonna use, will post soon

  • this is just a guess, but i think this would void the warranty

  • @Rubix4Life and you are correct

  • @Rubix4Life Not sure how, there aren't any seals that he broke and if it was a legit replacement screen how could they know?

  • i think i'd rather just have a slightly cracked screen.....

  • I do this for a living. Once you've done a few it's f*cking easy

  • Just how many people can actually do this on their own after watching doing this?

  • i hope i never get to do that............fail in every single screw !

  • i did all this. and powered it up. it all works fine but the battery wont charge. it shows the charge zig zag sign in the top corner for a few seconds then goes to a plug sign as if its fully charged. i dont know what to do next. i have tried restore and recover and holding the power/home button. still the same

  • child job...

  • WOW! i want those superfast screwdrivers! lol

  • Anyone else noticed the re-assembly is a reverse played de-assembly?

  • hey is a torx t6 screw driver fine? and how bout a phillips #00? thanks

  • Looks easy enough, I'm just wondering what the possible complications of disassembly are?

Its a shame you didn't turn the phone on afterwards to prove it works or show us the home button in any detail.

  • i was able to remove the back :) and thennn i tried to remove the 1st battery screw and wasnt able to =/ sucks!! none of the screw drivers seem to b able to remove it -_-

  • does anyone know where iphoneshopusa gets there lcd/digitizers? I can't find any lcd/digitizer replacements that dont have an ugly grid above the speaker grill. The replacement screen iphoneshopusa uses looks completely OEM. Any help?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Anyway to just remove the front frame around the glass without taking the glass off?

  • @TheRealDJLukie the iPhone 4 frame is sandwiched between the glued glass and lcd.

  • Can i change just the front glass lens withouht the screen?

  • can we replace the white screen of iPhone 4 into the iPhone 4 black one? Does the Screen of White one match with the black one ? Thanks for the great tutorial.

  • @Duckybros yes the iPhone 4 black and white parts are interchangeable

  • You do not have to remove the 6 screw with the washers.

Just back them off until they feel like they are about to come off, then tighten half turn.

The screen bezel clips will slide freely as you remove the screen.

The new screen will slide back in with no problem with the screws and washers still in place.

  • @TheInsaneMembrain

After you do 10+ new screen installs, you can have your screen replacements down to 20minutes or less easily. And that is being careful with what you are doing as well.

  • @TheInsaneMembrain Thanks for the tips! I performed my first replacement yesterday, and the screws with the washers was what took me the longest, I spent forever trying to get them back in (i should have used a magnetic driver). I will definitely do this for my next repair!

  • Really helpful, thanks. It was even better to unassemble because it was is HD :)

  • wow great tutorial! i know for next time, an iPhone 4's screen can be replaced. i wish i would've seen this first. but it was to late when me and my partner had to go to the apple store and told her that she had to buy a new one to replace her old iPhone 4. what a bitch

  • this is a great tutorial, fixed my iphone quickly.

  • Thank you I just repaired my fathers iPhone 4 he's very happy

  • Hi my friend... after repair my front lcd+touch my signal wifi and gps are VERY VERY loss... do you know why? Sorry my english... thanks a lot !

  • Very good video thanks!

  • Excellent tutorial. I appreciate the time and effort put into the details. I will order from your company because you have proven to be reputable and knowledgeable... ;)

  • awesome, thank you

  • i have a question is it diffucult to take the screws out or not??

  • 2 people couldn't figure this out!

  • Yes you take the blue label of try not to touch it when you do.

Grate video got a whit iPhone 4 only took about a hour first time coz of this video thanks mate.

  • did you remove the clear blue plastic backing?

  • just replaced my screen following your video and now my iphone looks brand new thanks mate you the best

  • People who are just selling the screen on ebay withoput the Lcd are scaming youyou have to change both! they are glued together on the iphone 4.

  • I replaced my front and back by this video and yes it works and is very acurate. I just wish it didn't reverse the video and they actually talked to you during the reconstruction.

  • Can you replace just the front glass? Is there a way to remove the LCD/Digitizer from the glass? I see videos of everyone changing the whole screen assembly, but I see people selling just the glass on eBay.

  • @HillBrothersVideo Don't buy just the glass. it is impossible to remove the LCD from the glass. It is glued and if you try to separate it the LCD WILL break.

  • turn it on and prove that it works tough guy!

  • thank you for this video. my iphone 4 is now red :)

  • Do you have to remove the battery in order to replace the front screen?

  • @zhnc8 yes you need to remove the iPhone 4 battery to replace the front screen

  • All thst work just 2 replace the front. F*** That!

  • This is replacing the entire LCD... not just the glass by itself.

  • i have a verizon iphone 4 can i use this video for repairing?

  • wtf my iPhone litterally broke, when I took the thing apart!

  • this is the best, descriptive video i've seen thanks!

  • good instructions, shame you didn't turn it on at the end to show it working

  • the screen of my iphone 4 was a lot more damaged as that one in the movie, i was falling apart....

because of this video i saved arround 200€

    great video!

    THUMBS UP!!!!!!!!

  • afterwards will it work??? :p

  • OMG!!!! open iphone!!!

  • WOW, TOO MUCH WORK ...JUST GET A NEW PHONE!!

  • wow - I can see why it costs so much to replace the front glass on the 4g...

  • HAAHAH I DIDNT KNOW THAT IPHONE 4 HAD A VIBRATOR SO THATS WHY EVERY BODY I SEE HAS ONE LOL

  • looks easy

  • Im just going to be sure to NOT break the glass on my iphone when i get it, the kit costs over 100$...

  • @Sk8AnotherDay That's what I thought I would do before I got one. I was unfortunate enough to break it two weeks later though, because of a hole in my pocket which the phone went through straight onto a pavement. :) Also a day later it slipped from a shelf in my bathroom resulting in twice as big damage to the screen.

Now I'm buying a new digitizer along with a new LCD to be able to read iBooks again. Good luck with your future iPhone though :)

  • awesom video just converted to white iphone with your vid. 5 out of 5

  • Thanks for putting this up. I took me 4 hours to complete. The hardest parts for me was removing the battery and screwing the tiny screws. Using a hairdryer made the job a lot more easy. To screw the tiny screws you'll need a magnetic screwdriver. You can make your screwdriver magnetic by hitting it with a hammer. It sounds weird but it does work.

  • what i'm trying to figure out is does the front digitizer come with those legs that the screws clamp into place so the screen doesn't fall out? I have yet to find out how to get my digitizer to stay in place I ordered the part from a seller on ebay with high posotive feed back and the digitizer I got is just a piece of glass ETC but theres no legs or fingers.. coming off the glass around the edges for screws to hold it in place

  • my iphone exploded. thanks..

  • Why did they make this so much harder? For 3G, it's like "Yeah just pop off three screws, unplug the cable, and you're done". For 4, it's really invasive.

Am I on the right video? Why so difficult?

  • @redjuggler2040 THOUGHT THIS VID WAS GOING TO BE A PIECE OF CAKE AN BY WATCHING IT I ALMOST HAD A HAERT ATTACK BY JUST WATCHING THE TUTORIAL LMAO....

  • @redjuggler2040 because the front screen was reinforced ( gorilla glass = stronger ) and they expected you to break the back glass which probably isnt gorilla glass , so you wouldn´t have to pay so much for the whole screen . capiche ?

  • I did this to make my iPhone white and this helped me alot it was very hard but after an hour or two I did it. Thank you so much!!

  • That looks simple enough...

    (sarcasm)

  • One of the greatest videos of replacing a screen on iPhone 4 I've ever seen, great job. thanks...

  • hello, ive been searching all the net with this question but nowere to be found, muy sim tray got completrly stuck inside, is therea waey to take it out by opening my iphone 4? or did i just screw everything up, :(

  • @gfrhgrthrhrthr you could get a paperclip, bend the very very tip of it to an L shape, place into your sim hole and pry outwards. if you try to take your motherboard out you might damage it with the sim tray stuck inside the motherboard.

I have done this before and it worked.

hope this helps if you havent already figured it out.

  • Wow, that was the most excellent "How To" video that I have ever seen. I would have paid for that instruction. Now, I'll go to your website and order some things. I guess that was the original goal of this? Mission Accomplished guys.

  • Thank you for this great video:)=

  • So is there a way to remove to LCD from the glass?

  • @LegacyofSupremacy - Sorry mate. There is no way of doing this. Has to be purchased as a complete kit with the screen and digitizer. They cost around £45 on ebay. If you purchased a digitizer on its own, they have ripped you off.. Send it back

  • A pity nobody does show how to remove the dock conector

  • @belzebrut when you remove the mouthpiece unit you can just unscrew the dock connector and remove it. its pretty simple actually.

  • thx dude so much this help big time!!!

  • can u reuse the digitizer like can you take it off the old glass and use it on the new gleass

  • @Yummieewaffles there is no way to separate the glass, digitizer, or LCD from the iPhone 4. Trust us we have tried.

  • thx alot

think im gonna use this vid for a white conversion

  • Great. Thanks for helping me get my phone useful again.

  • @roob5 nice to hear you got your iPhone 4 back to working and looking new. what was the hardest part in doing the repair yourself? glad our iPhone 4 repair video helped out.
