Heck, there's still a few places in my town that are still just... there. like this gas station, the windows are still boarded up, but all the debris was cleared, but its... like there as a reminder I guess. every time i pass it, it just makes me remember... And that was almost 3 years ago already.

I was out of town during Gustav, but I was back and in school by the time Ike hit, didn't have power for about a months, and my school was out for weeks. I live just 20 minutes away from galveston. it was my first hurricane ever to experience... it was scary. I remember driving through galveston a year later and still seeing damage left behind, it was just heart breaking.

I live in Freeport Texas right close to Galveston that was one freaky Hurricane Ive been thru many many many hurricanes and that was by far the worst

That's one strong storm surge. I can only imagine what an actual hurricane looks like. My heart goes out to all the people that lost their belongings to hurricane Gustav and Ike.
