  • It wasn't such a big deal when they separated briefly, but since Alice thought it was -- I'd blame the guy who was dancing with Emily. Those guys should have worked as hard at perfecting their moves as the girls did. The guys should have held the girls in the right position and guided them in the right direction at all times. But heck, if the guys had been that good, then they would have been stars. . . .

  • Wish they did "The devil you know" or "Tunnel of Love" instead XD

  • I LOVE TUNNEL OF LOVE.

Well actually, I love that part where Alice goes "where is mine!?"

    ...great musical :)

  • that might be my favorite of the whole show LOL

  • I doubt they could do Tunnel of Love on the Thanksgiving Parade, given the subject matter.

  • Of all the amazing songs from Side Show, they chose this one to do? lol. COULD HAVE DONE WAY BETTER!

Doesn't make me love Alice or Emily any less though.

  • I think they wanted a really big production number, even if it isn't the best song in the show. Personally, I like many of the other songs much better, too.

Alice and Emily are amazing. :-)

  • I just keep on replaying the end of this song because I love that bit.

  • where do they get pulled apart?

  • Wow, that was fucking amazing. Alice has some GREAT legs!

  • the wind blew 'em apart during the dancebrake mwahahah! XD

my friend and I are playing them in a show within a show. we're doing this song. I'm Violet and she's Daisy, but we put me on the left becuase I'm left handed. :)

  • They aren't connected by anything, they just join up together, it's amazing.

Alice Ripley told Seth Rudetsky that the moment here where the wind pushes them apart was one of the worst days of her life. I love her!

  • I doubt the wind had anything to do with it. It wasn't that bad, but it looked like she just took her step back too soon in the choreography. No biggie though! I wouldn't say it was so bad that I would call it "the worst day of my life". Maybe if she fell or something, then I could see that, but not that slight error.

  • is this live or are they lipsyncing

  • They are definitely lipsyncing. I think the Macy's performance are all lipsynced.

  • All Macy's performances are lipsynced

  • thats a very expensive looking vaudeville act hahaha lol

  • THANK YOU!!!

  • are they actually connected or are they just trying to keep together??????

  • They were just trying their best, sometimes unsuccessfully, to stay together. At about 2:45, they don't do such a good job.

  • Hey, they do pretty darn well besides that one spot! It must be really hard to stick together like through and entire 2 hour+ show!

  • but other than that it was flawless

  • @bdtb the wind blew them apart....even in the show, they were never held together by anything....that is how good they were....i think that one of them (alice ripley?) got mad about it b/c they had worked so hard to be in sync with each other without any help

  • @bdtb I have actually talked to Alice about this performance, and she gets so pissed thinking about it, because of the wind separating them, but Alice kinda blames Emily too

  • I can't get over how fantastic their voices sound together! I LOVE this musical.

  • I know! They always sound so perfect together all the time! I love it! They made two albums of duets together... I so have to look into those!

  • I remember seeing this on the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade and thinking this was a show about Egypt. Years later, I put two and two together.

  • you'd think they would sew their costumes together or something like that. or velcro, idk.

  • well they had a lot of quick changes, so it would have been a problem if the costumes were sewed together, but I completly agree on the velcro.

  • it was more conceptual than that

  • yeah, i've seen more of the show and now i see there vision and the symbolizm and junk.

  • haha 2:45 oops

    other than that...they're fun :-)

  • there was no oops.

by the blocking, they're not actually attached

  • yes, i know. they press their hips together and dance perfectly together to give the illusion of being attached. at 2:45 they moved too far apart and actually separated. its kind of obvious...

  • especially when alice quickly moves her hand down to cover the gap lol

  • I think that was actually part of the choreography. The guys do it too.

  • well that just makes no sense.

  • LOL. Why? They have their palms flat--it's like a hieroglyphic pose.

  • It's one of their vaudeville acts set in Egypt

  • LOVE IT! espesh when you see them obvi separate

  • Thank you so much. I was a pharoah dancer in a recent regional production of this show and its so great to be able to see the fantastic orignal choreography!

  • thanx for this rare video!
