But I´m quite convinced there are still some sports like athletics where very small kids are made to train until they cry. And those harsh training methods (which possibly even lead to constant fear of the next day) are not accepted in most western countries. Even though I remember there were some hard drills in east germany before 89 as well.
financial pressure that's the family's situation. if the parents think their child has a better chance of success by joining the team, that's their decision, it's not pressure. they want the best for the child compared against their condition.

Lin D was cheated 5 times in that final because of the korean linesmen, and the last call where lin D got angry EVERY ONE could see it was at least 10 cm out. i think you would react the same way if the score was 22-22 in a final and such a call would be made against you. Thats also why Taufik H doesnt want to play korean tournaments, because of the linesmen. Terrible korean culture.

You must remember, the Korean coach firstly shouted out something to the players~. This itself isn't allowed in badminton. From LinDan's words, he was provoked. If you check in the badminton rules, you're not allowed to communicate with players. I think KOR's coach needs to be penalized too.
