There was one huge reason I loved this more than Mario Kart. I loved the fact that items were put in specific places, and you had to strategize when to use them more than in Mario Kart. In last place in Mario Kart, get a star or lightning bolt to get back to first with little effort; in this game, you had to be skilled to get to first place from last. Are there any other racers like this with no car damage and similar power ups? The game also had a terrific single player.

I love the DS version... but I think they should have kept the races where you gather the silver rare coins, and not the tap on the coin with the stylus mode...

@04tm34l3 the rooster was an unlockable character in story mode, achieved by driving over a frog with a rooster head. the clock is the guy you race in time trails, and i assume he could either be unlocked by cheat code or beating the tt challenge for every map

@04tm34l3 because you might not have unlocked them, they're the two unlockable characters, you unlock the rooster named Drumstick by running over him in toad form when you get all the keys I think, and the clock named T.T you unlock by beating all his time trial ghosts, do a good enough time trial, and his ghost will appear, beat the ghost on every stage and you'll unlock him.
