  • 1:32 - Where is the sound track coming from when he spotted the uboat?

  • @TechnicalJaguar It's the main title of "Das Boot".

  • @eltfell I walk talking about the "German Uboat, over there!" track, which movie?

  • @TechnicalJaguar Oh - that. Sorry don't know.

  • Deep boat is another result of the inspiration of Das Boot, quite funny

  • This is so insane that it's brilliant! Thank you!

  • That is some very clever editing. I also liked the ending, with the idea that both ships ultimately go down.

  • This is what would happen if Sea Shephard got themselves a german u- boat.

  • I'd pay mony to see that.

  • Did ya see it? Did ya see it?! Ahab had that "Jew Eye" going on

  • Actually ishmail and the engineer of the uboat did return

  • This has to be the LONNNNNNNNGEST trailer in the history of the world. Could probably have taken at least three more minutes off and got the same effect. I just read deidzoeb's post - what he said.

  • i lol'd extremely heartily!

  • Awesome trailer.

  • Very nice. My only complaints are that trailers are rarely 6 minutes, and the title made me think it was going to be the whale vs U-boat. I would have called it "Ahab vs. Das Boot" or "The Pequod vs. U-96", except only geeks would get the reference at that point. That said, my next stop is to watch your other mashups.

  • Very good & enjoyable.

  • Priceless..... lol :o)

  • I've never seen Moby Dick, but this recut makes me want to watch it. Is it any good? Though I won't be able to watch it without thinking that it should meet U-96...

I marvel at the editing and how expertly you wove the two pieces together. I love the tambourine bit at 4:18. Well done.

  • hahahaaaa!

    Love it man!!

    Very very good work!!

  • uhh dis is fake

  • of course it is, but its fun to see

i think its a brilliant idea

  • 1:1 ?

  • very entertaining well done

  • I love this, really Genius.LOL LOL LOL

  • Hey, buddy. Thanks for bringing these two seafaring masterpieces together. Bravo!

  • Hey, this is Great! Very entertaining to say the least, fantastic melding of the two epic movies and an actual storyline. Thanx for putting this video on!

  • That's not the Pequod it's the HMS Surprise! What a surprise.

  • was the very very begining bit from master and commander?

  • brilliant sheer genius

  • love the part with the sonar and depth charges

  • Two of my all-time favorite movies...joined in a deliciously unholy marriage! Too funny!!! Good job, kid.

  • Two of the greatest tales of the sea ever told.

Ahab brought his hatred for the white whale

While the U boat crew brought love of country

In love and hate no one wins....

  • I loved the harpoons too! :p

That the sloops are being dragged by the u boat then LOL

The wasserbomben were nice done too !

  • Brillant !

  • Love you for this one. Great movies.

    BTW:

Actor who played Picard in Star Treck tried the captain in mobby dick too and realy failed in that role (hes a great actor). Only greg was able to show that hate..:P

  • DAAAAAS BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT

    god i love beerfest...

  • haha the ping and the wasserbommen! Great job

  • Genial, Brilliant, einfach nur gut gemacht, Danke, THX

  • I laughed out loud as soon as I saw the title for this.

I haven't seen alot of those scenes from Das Boot, are they from the 6 hour extended version?

Had that for over a year and haven't gotten around to watching it yet.

  • Yeah !

  • This is epic

  • you made Capt. Ahab proud..great job

  • This is absolute win. Coolest thing I've seen on Das Tube in ages!

  • This clip has been made good something so. From the idea up to conversion simply first-class.

  • hhaaahaa submerine vs a old ship very funny

  • way to go, that is creative

  • amazing! you're a genious! five stars are not enough to say how much this "movie trailer" is excellent!! great job, man!!

  • I couldn't breathe while I was watching it because I was laughing so hard.

  • sehr gut gemacht !!! nice one !!!!

  • Very well done!

  • Wow this is epic! You sir are a true genious. Do consider a career in comedy or something.

  • good match , Jurgen Prochnow great actor Xd 5*

  • n1 but torpedos are missing :D

  • funny lol

  • lol very funny and perfect made, m8! very good

  • Super!

  • lol,

U-96 wouldn't even need a torpedo to send Capt. Ahab to the bottom!

    Torpedoes LOS!

  • U 96 would be able to ram the wooden ship and recive little damage.

  • a0e0roberts Why ?! don,t you get a real life, as an old man, looking for some kind of Identity ,, among the hero s of 50 years or more ,,, Trying to enact the seven stages of a man on Youtube, a Very Poor, Erzatz

  • Keirfree, why don't you read a book or something and stop being a pest? Read "Moby Dick." You might learn something. Might be a first for you.

  • Absolutely genius!

  • "To the last I grapple with thee; from hell's heart I stab at thee; for hate's sake I spit my last breath at thee."

OK, when Ahab's men toss the wabos over the side... that was funny!

  • I was going to say that! ...then I didn't...

  • LMAO, that is awsome. good job

  • brilliant!

  • Your brain isn't wired like everyone elses' is it now? :-D

  • 拍手喝采!

  • Excellent. But it's not very credible that U96 could have managed to sink Ahab's ship. I mean, apart from the main ship, they have several boats in addition while U96 is all alone. Also, those early submarines still had no anti-harpoon protection systems. Ahab could have sunk U96 in the blink of an eye.

  • lol

  • Lol those depthcharges, i cant stop laughing :D Captain Ahab stabbing the german sailor with the harpoon, and one of the Ahab's sailors making the harpoon head and germans listening it, oh my god this is so hilarious. 5 stars!

  • extreemly well done! 5 stars

  • HAHAHA 5 Stars, excellent...

  • fucking genious dude, epic success! i love ur vid!~

  • This was subtle and superlative. Well done!

    Bodenedelstahltx

  • Wow, that was EPIC!!!!

Great job putting these two great stories together, including the appropriate musical scores which were well placed.

I especially got a kick out of the whalers throwing the barrels into the sea, which turned into exploding depth charges haha!

  • Wenn das mal nicht geil ist!!! Respekt!

  • Oh my god that is so f&*^% funny

    brilliant

  • einfach nur geil

  • l.m.f.a,o

  • ok, that is funny....its been done really well, its hard to get this sort of thing in sync...:) thanks for sending it

  • thought u would like ;-]

  • yep i liked it:D

  • cool ;-]

  • Best juxtaposition ever!

  • This video has a great editing work, congratulations!

  • This is sooo cool !!

  • Sehr gut gemacht! Echt klasse!

  • This is so damn good!

    I love it ^^

  • Sehr gut

  • That Was Good

  • GREAT, gut gut gut !

The Bugale breiz enigme is closed !

  • ROFL! Hilarious!

  • GOOD JOB!!!!!!!!!!

  • Both good movies, but i would have to say Das Boot wins.

  • The Nautilus was NUKE powered, it would be a close call I believe...

  • Very good on the editing. The Peqod hunted whales and U-96 in Das Boot hunted men in ships, mostly merchant mariners. The actual account of Moby Dick was between Moby Dick & the whaler Essex. Collision was an accident. U-boats deliberately sunk opponents. Don't see your philosophical connection, good job on editing though...

  • The connection is that I wanted a tragic end for both ships, because both sank in the movies. So I let both collide due to the heat of the battle.

  • Nemo's Nautlius vs U-96...

  • I Stilll Say U-96 Wins, But they are both good movies.

  • It's just meant to be funny. Nothing deep to find excpe the sunken vessels. They crossed time and space to fight each other and both lose. Both captains are great mirror images of each other so it's geat to mix these to movies. Great editing in my book.

  • Both captains are NOT great mirrors, Ahab was out for revenge, while the U-Boat captin was a rather outspoken anti-nazi, protecting his crew and ship at all costs

  • I've never seen Das Boot but just from what I've seen here they seem to be mirror images to me and that's all I care about. Besides this is an editing excersize meant to make a whole new movie out of two and that's why I like it. For something that wasn't.

  • LOL

  • AWESOME!!!!

    Very good.

  • Splendidly original. XD Definite favourite, and really admired the incisive editing.

  • very groovy!!!11!1 cool idea, very well done!

    5 / 5

    goes straight into my favs

  • Wow your transitions are flawless. This was very well done. I like how you kept the soundtrack going. How did you do that? Very good job. I still have much to learn.

  • indeed very very good

  • Wirklich super gemacht!

  • "Beyond mind: "hahahahahahah" " Brilliant truly brilliant!

  • Ten out of ten for imagination and execution!

Can't wait for the full length version!!

  • Very good idea! Nicely done!

Gute Jagd und fette Beute ;-)

    Gruß

    Mr. Fleck

  • lmao Sir a Wooden Boat with cannons. Shoot the AA Gun and the water line. Dont even bother with the deck gun

  • Nice vid guv'nor

  • Oh man, I've never seen Moby Dick, but there's no need after this great compilation.

I love Das Boot, and this was just awesome.

  • Two great films, would never have made the conection myself. 5 stars, you got talent man!

  • Good Job Amazingly nic.e

  • Super Video!!

  • Man,that is one of the most brillant clips I've seen on YouTube!!Great work!

  • Just curious; did you use some footage from Master and Commander in the beginning?

  • Yes, the beginning is from the Master and Commander Trailer.

  • FANTASTIC! That was very clearly a whole lot of work, and it is awesome! Thanks

  • "Cap'n! IT BE SOME KIND-O STRANGE SHINY-METAL WHALE!"

    "Harpoon!!!"

  • was ein scheis alter. solche pappkutter wurden artgerecht mit dem ramsporn zerlegt. da is jeder torpedo zu schade.

  • Strictly for scientific research.

  • Lol, Nice, I like it, can't wait for the premier!

  • Unless U-96 couldn't go back through the time warp, they would have returned home because they would have destroyed the Pequod within a day.

  • That U-boat can sink them with no sweat.

  • LOL!

Uh yeah, U96 has the edge against The Pequod as far as torpedos versus harpoons goes,

    No question.

  • One shot from the deck gun, right at the waterline!
