A travel presenter should learn something about the culture. You do not wai (put your hands together and bow) to a food vendor. You do so to your girlfriends' parents, a business contact, the police, your boss etc.
What complete load of bollocks. I live in Vientiane, Laos and the info given in this video is completely inaccurate. Firstly, although all of the food mentioned is available, you don't see it all on one cart. In fact I have never seen a cart selling pastries since I've been here; you have to go to an expat place for that. Secondly, 3-4 dollars buys you a cheapish expat meal. To eat basic Lao food costs 70 cents to 2 dollars.
Thirdly, a travel presenter should learn something about the culture.
Thanks Matt Lauer for taking his TV crews to Laos, I wish I can see more of Laos that you have visited. I was watching(channel 5) while I was at work for a while in 08 somehow the place I worked having a TV in that room call: Command Center but I could not tell you what company is.. Laos is great place and people are lvery generous..
R U kon lao too? I was watching hmong clips about vang pao, dem hmong ppl r talking shit about us lao ppl. U should go read wat they r saying n pass da words
Thank you Hampau64! I was pleasantly surprised when I saw one of the segments in my hotel during a business trip. I hope the national exposure brings many visitors to our beautiful homeland. I'm amazed at how much Vientiane has changed since my trip in 2002. If the Lao Government wisely invests the money from tourism into education, infrastructure, and its most valuable resource - its people - then hopefully one day soon, our country will become a key economic player in Southeast Asia.
Ctd. from previous post....
