@traper0212 ya my track that holds the window in place also is rusted out, my regulator like the one on the website is fine. where can I get a new track and how do i replace it?
how can i tell if my motor for my 97 chevy power windows is bad or if it's just the regulator...my wife drove it too McDonalds rolled the window down and now it's stuck down...this happened once before...and i took the door panel off and ran through the wires and it fixed the problem last time...but this time i can hear a "Clicking" sound when i try to roll the window back up...i also ran the wires backwards to make sure it wasn't the switch...any kind of help would be great.
@thirdstreettito Mine was stuck in the up position so what I did was turn the ignition key to power up the switch while holding the window switch in the down position (may need a helper) I took a small hammer and tapped the motor which kicked on and lowered the window.. Try this first!!
what can i do, i have my 1996 chevrolet suburban. And for some reason my power locks dont work. I push the button to lock and it works. but when i go to unlock only the driver side door unlocks. Any suggestions on what i can do to fix this. It gets frustrating opening all the doors by hand. Thanks in advance.
@eramirez189 If you are using the hand remote that is how it works. Push the button once and the driver door unlocks push it again all the doors unlock. If it is not that simple then try replacing one of the door lock actuators and see if that helps 1 door. If so replace them all.
@mexdogg74 Remove the fasteners for the regulator slide the entire regulator and window assembly down so you can reach the bolts that attach the regulator to the window.
i had to do that a couple times on my old 97. had to do the window, regulator, panels, latch, rod, inner and outer handle, was a mess. needless to say everything worked a whole lot better afterward. i fixed everything at once but it all go at once. inner handle froze then broke. someone tried to break in, broke outer handle and window, then the latch seized up and the rods bent.
Thank you so much for this video. It's one thing to read about how to do something but seeing someone do it makes it much easier (e.g., removing the door handle trim -- I was trying to do it the wrong way and couldn't figure out why it wasn't working). I had to change out both my power window motor and my door handle assembly. For some reason, my 1999 Tahoe door looks like the one in this video even tho it says up to 1998. Maybe they changed the door type in mid-year 1998/1999. Anyway, thanks!
@DeepEllumUSMC I think in 1999, the Chevy/GMC pickups switched to the new body style, but the Tahoes/Yukons/Suburbans remained with the old body style for another year. I have a 1997 Tahoe and it looks just like the 1999s.
Who needs a man when we've got YouTube ?! Lol this was very helpful !

@traper0212 The part that (sounds like) you are describing is part of the window regulator. We sell them on our website. Here's a link to them.
