Lata minęły,piosenkę i dziewczynę kocham do dziś.Pozdrawiam wszystkich co lubią ten utwór i ten zespół.

  • This is a classic. The moment you hear it, you feel your connection with the Ghanaian entertainment industry, talk of Osofo Dadzie, Cantata etc..... We are all proud of Osibisa!

  • Ciesze sie,ze po dlugim czasie moge uslyszec Osibise.Swietna grupa.Zbigniew

  • This song has been on my brain ever since I spent a semester at the University of Ghana, Legon, in 1973. I searched but was unable to find it here in the US back in the day. It reminds me of the incredibile mix of excitement & determination about African liberation & a kind of self-confident cultural pride that allowed for an equal openness to other cultures I experienced in Ghana. African music, literature, film were a revelation for me then & changed my life. Thank you!

  • It will be hard we know

And the road will be muddy and rough

    But we'll get there

Heaven knows how we will get there

    We know we will!

  • Not familiar with this version, hence do not like it.

  • reminds me of jimmy cliff's 'many rivers to cross' wonderful!

  • This Summer in London, my freind got a free ticket to see Osibisa at Ronnie Scotts which included a backstage pass to meet to the band and the road crew. She's loved them and so do I!

  • yeah...

help us to fight globalism, join our peaceful. worldwide movement!!!

  • Recordar es volver a nacer, o mas bien, no olvidar un pasado mas o menos feliz, pero un pasado propio, insustituible e inperdurable y Osibisa forma parte de él.

  • Osofo Dadzie

  • cantata theme

  • "We are going Heaven knows where we are going We will know we're there We will get there Heaven knows how we will get there We know we will It will be hard we know And the road will be muddy and rough But we'll get there Heaven knows how we will get there We know we will We are going Heaven knows where we are going We will know we're there" LOVE IT!! :)

  • Osibisa are a great folklore group.

Brother Teddy Osei is my man that made the group so uplifting.

Osibisa brought so many memories in the early seventies and man, those were the days.

    RIP, Brother Mac Tontoh.

  • i listened to this song many years ago when life was ahead of me.... i still haven't figured it out yet 30 years later, yeah only God knows

  • Uplifting, spiritual, optimistic--simple, harmonic, fun!

  • rrrr'hasta maaah

  • Thanks for posting. After some 30 years, this song just popped into my head. Its brilliance and heartfelt melodies still resound. This combination of Africa and the Caribbean is still superb. Bless up Osibisa.

  • please have you hear a son called " awake " ? i think from their first album. if you have it, share it. thanks from mexico

  • This song brought me to tears on more than one occasion! Even now, over thirty years later, it still moves me. The voices, the harmones, the flute... something magical happens. But, as this live version shows, there's humour to balace it as well.

Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel did a real crap version a year or so after the original, without much acknowledgement to it's source.

  • DEFINATELY a pioneer of African beats!

  • very nice

  • Fabulous music.

  • We are going..heaven knows ah we are going....we know we will.

  • TIMELESS ! ! ,SIMPLY GREAT ! ! !

  • True music.

  • for some reason I woke up yesterday with this lovely song in my head, and I hadn't even heard it for years! I was priviliged to see Osibisa live about 5 times in the late 70's and early 80's-wonderful, wonderful nights out.

  • love love it!

  • Roger Dean did this cover. Also for the rockgroup YES. He has a website.

  • Question for all out there. Who created the covers for Osibisa? The artwork is interestingly, wow. Love the music, reminds me of my teens.

  • @bigh560 cover is by Roger Dean. Find with Google.

Didn't see them at the empire but did see them a couple of years dahn sarf - live in London now. Actually can't remember where I saw them but I know that me & the lasses had a great night out with a set that was over 2 hours. Took me days for my dancing knees to recover!

U see them @ the olde empire then??

    :-)

  • my aunt taught my cousins & I this beautiful mellow song back in my youth...whilst driving around in the winding roads of the lovely Inyangani Mountains in the Eastern Highlands of Zimbabwe...good times.

so re-assuring, only the Father knows...so we're in safe hands...:)

  • Wonderfull music...I used to hear it when I was fourtheen...Now I found it on Youtube...Compliments

  • This is soft and tender but yet very powerful music i remember this song was soundtrack to some Akan drama shows. Oh my goodness how much i love my country Ghana. Simply beautiful, authentic african music.

  • ..i believe one of the shows you are talking about is Osofo Dadzie..starring Super OD amongst others ??

  • still makes me wanna cry

  • ¿alguien se acuerda de Osibisa en Les Enfants Terribles?

  • la mejor musica africana

  • beautiful.

This song, and the song Lullaby to an Anxious Child , sung from Gregg Kofi Brown ( Osibisa ) and Sting, are my favorites.

  • Osibisa are fantastic. It's like Reggae, Prog, World Music, Jazz Fusion, Funk, Rock and Gospel came together.

  • 1972 memoir. Lay back and relax with these sounds on the headphones. In November 1977 I met one of the band "Sol" at King Cross in Sydney. Three girls I'd just met managed to find him after a show. We all went out on the town for some fun.I re-met the same girls later by chance. Neat chicks. The lovely blonde was later attacked by a pit bull (dog) and had her face mauled! That's life.

  • super bon bon délire

  • I sold a lot of old LPs but kept this then got it on CD and played it for a black friend who hated it. Go figure/

  • 30 years ago .... and I was world champion ...

  • Are they still together? Id love to bring them to New Zealand for a concert. They still have a decent following here and think Im one of the few that have actually seen em live even if it was over 35 years ago!!!

  • Yes, they are still performing and touring. Google them. They have an official website.

  • my family and i used to sing this on car trips across southern africa

    Osibisa rocks

they had the most amazing album covers

    long live the seventies

in my opinion some of the most soulful, funky, groovy music ever

this song in particular is quite appropriate for the world we live in today

    Woyaya

  • They used to have a huge spliff before coming on stage ...and then walk through the audience in their African robes ...this is their best uplifting spiritual....OH YES...

    WOYAYA...

  • Greetings from Hungary! /midle EUROPA/ GOD BLESS AFRICA!!!!!

  • Our friend who posted this version has really done us a great deed. I will always remember not only the song, but the uploader as well. You made my day - THANK YOU.

  • Such a great song reminds me that this world is not our home indeed. Does anyone know what inspired the writing of this song?

  • Ocbsa has been very inspirational to me from early age.

    i love ocbsa

    one love Carl

  • Great group of TALENT!!!...its a shame Kiki (once a millionare) had to go the way he did...

  • This is a song about change, yes, but also about the circles of immortality - we live forever in the new generations. My heart is smiling.

  • The rhythm of this is fascinating... the vocals are in 6/8 counted in 2, while the accompaniment is 12/8 counted in 4... so it feels like triplets over 4.

  • This is a very good time to listen to this song and work together... Change is coming, we all want what's best, Obama elected, elections are coming to Ghana in December, more changes are coming to work together hopefully!!!! May the good people live a long life and may the bad vanish and come and join the good side!

  • not from africa, didn't live in the 70s, just barely lived in the 80s haha... but still, i saw this record at a local store and the album art was so great that i had to pick it up. awesome stuff, im really glad i bought it.

  • Greetings from Perú to all the black people from Africa...don´t forget that your music change the world.

  • hi i know o.dadzie the comedian funny man through my husband who is from dormaa

As a Zimbabwean it is more so now given what is going on around the nation.

  • Thank you kind gree47

The goose bumps are up and down my back.

This is one of the best versions I have heard of this song by this great Band. It has so much meaning to this old fella. I sing this very song every time I'm up against a rock and a

hard place. Its now posted as a favorite!

  • Thank you so much for posting this. I haven't heard this song since the 70's. I always regretted letting go of my Osibisa album - this song still goes through my mind now and then.

  • I saw them in the early 70's and early this century! great then and now.

  • Tegwani High School - Victor Pezulu in 1971 used to like this group .. now 37 years later I reviewing my back pages .. Nice song, nice group - Nigerian?
