  • I have no harddrive what could I do

  • @Mega1Hack you have to buy one tbh.

  • i buidl mine put it all together, but when i plug it into the mnonitor it says "no video inpiut"

  • Damn that music reminds me of Diablo 2! :D oh i miss the old days :(

  • how how much did it cost to buy all the components separetely ?

  • I like how they used 90s porn music =D

  • @Neilly671

    ;-P

  • Where do I get the anti static thing?

  • @SKATEFOLIFE77

The thing he touched to, 'de-static' himself was just an ordinary power outlet, but it's one that's used in countries other than mine and yours obviously.

  • Hi, I'm wondering if after i install windows 7 on my new pc if i can take my old vista pc that dieds hard drive and use that a second hard drive cause alot of my stuff wont work without the files on that hard drive.

  • @mrcow94 pci-e 3.0 is backwards compatable, 560 ti will work fine.

  • Like lego. Just ordered my new rig, building it tommorow

  • I was gonna get a gaming PC in a few weeks, just have to find a motherboard and a couple other things. I'm just wondering if a board has a PCIe 3.0 slot, can a GTX 560 Ti go into it...or does it have to be 2.0. Wanted to do SLI at one point but it has one 2.0 and two 3.0 slots.

  • Could you make a Video you using it pleaseand how could you put internet into it?

  • which case should i get? 1. Lian Li Lancool Dragonlord? 2. Coolermaster HAF 922? 3. Antec DF-10?

  • VERY GOOD JOB MAN :) THANKS

  • If I buy a Cooler Master HAF 992 High Air PC case, do I need to buy additional case fans and power supply?

  • Building my own tomorrow! Kinda excited :)

Also the music made me think of that I was watching transformer porn lmao

  • do i need a dd burner? is it required?

  • I love how it took him/her 5 minutes.

  • your hands are very red........

  • loved this video, building a gaming PC of my own <3

  • wht is this music called can somone please tell me?

  • So you just smear the thermal paste on the top of the card? :B

  • Ok it was my two SATA cables i had in wrong places, i just switched them and it works.

  • I need more details of where the wires has to be. Please help.

  • first ground yourself, then use a magnetic screwdriver? :S :S :S :S :S

  • Man I wish I had the money to do all this stuff. Looks like alot of fun.

  • this shit looks complicated as fuck lol.

  • What does the thermal paste do ?

  • @MrDens7 Thermal conductivity paste aids cooling. It helps transfer the heat from the processor to the cooling agent, like a fan or the radiator.

  • So, a 13 year old could do this?

  • @RedneckMonkey762

Well i've done it with a little help of my dad

  • do you HAVE to have the cd rom and writer? will it work without it?

  • @dr00gling it isn't necessary, but unless you know how to install windows from a flash drive and you never use CD's then I suggest you buy one.

  • Does it matter in that place i put the "power" chords for the Fans ? or is it a specific location?

  • all i need is that screen cards like yours i have a asus elite group bulited it after my ecs elite group broke how much would that graphics card cost

  • i liked this video, but I have some questions:

-The thermal paste comes with the processor or something or do I need to buy it separately?

-I need to have the drive and the writer DVD?

-I need something else to get sound and internet?

sorry my bad english, im from portugal; i know the video is old, but is the more helpful for me

  • @ArkastaaR

Usually Intel and AMD processors have stock heatsinks that have thermal paste already applied.

You have to have a Hard Disk Drive (Internal HDD) and preferably a DVD drive to install a disc operating system.

You might need to download and install audio/internet drivers. Usually if you buy your motherboard, it should come with a driver installation disc that installs the essentials.

  • @omglolwtfmudkips thx :D

  • u cant build a pc u have 2 hav a company do it r els u get shok

  • how do u know where to plug in the wires for the case power button and led lights and stuff like that cuz my coolermaster case wasn't all attached it was in 2 pins and i had to have my uncle help me but i still dont get it.

  • @oseanlouvang you should buy a Q connector

  • god I remember watching this video when I first built my PC 5 years ago. This brings back a lot of memories...

  • wow, pc building has gotton so much easier by 2011.

seriously who uses screws these days

  • Amazing tutorial,thank you very much ;)

  • why do you need pastle on the cpu?

  • Thanks for this great video,i am going to build my own pc and this is more than helpfull, you have write everything so clearly and it was not hard to understand what you mean,Thanks Alot for you. :D

  • Roughly how much would it cost to build a computer? As in the average overall price for all the components?

  • Comment removed

  • looks simple!

  • so basically all these big companies just buy all the components and assemble them?

  • @keveydaking Yup. Better off building your own because you don't have to pay labor and you can choose the specs.

  • my 4 pin power cable is to short what do i have to do???

  • yo after this i instal w7 and im ready to use the pc?

  • @dikkeman but i have to download GPU and mother board drivers and instal them yea?

  • @HeartbetSensor They come with your motherboard. You will have a cd. You can also download them. But when you install W7 and have internet access al will be done automatically.

  • Comment removed

  • @dikkeman Are you dutch? I'm building my own pc aswell ( Intel pentium 2 and 4) but my LED'S are flashing nd the floppy led is flashing and it's making a weird tikking noise.

  • thanks i already make my own computer just like yours

  • BAD ASS SONG! Nice computer!

  • can you post the parts you used in this?

  • I do this for a living and I still watched the video just because the acoustic guitar.

I'm a sucker for acoustics, despite loving metal. :(

  • @AceStrife

    ;-)

  • @AceStrife yea i build them too

  • @AceStrife I feel you man. This is the first video I saw that gave me inspiration to build computers and this music really got to me. I wish I knew who composed this. This video brings back so many memories it almost brings a tear to my eye lol.

  • can we have the specs

  • @cooltrain6 what is that like porn to you? 'OHHHH MY GOD THOSE ARE SEXY SPECS *jizz*

jk xD but the specs wouldn't be amazing amazing, it was made in 2006, so that's old old old stuff

  • Nice video, I was really feeling the porn music.

  • @DWarrior4

    ;-)-

  • I am new to building computers. But what about wi-fi.

  • HEY if i change motherboard do i have to reinstall my OS? HELP PLS

  • @DSRvmv111

No, you might need to install new drivers, but you don't have to change out your OS. That's only if you get a new hard drive.

  • i am buying all my parts from newegg

  • For some reason, this looks complex. A little error will destroy the motherboard. Probably pay a tech store to do it for me.

  • aww screw it ill buy one

  • Comment removed

  • Information... consumed...

  • I amazed how many of these vid are here on the tube but no one ever show how to set up the other stuff like the operating system and booting up etc. Nice vid though.

  • @djsweetthing

All you have to do is hit F8 or F6 while the computer is booting up (depends on motherboard), use the arrow keys to configure the right options. Then just save the settings and restart, insert your OS disc and depending on what OS you go with, it should guide you through the process.

  • @djsweetthing

You can find that info also on YT. Search for "install operating system on new pc"

  • this song is real chill

  • @TheGweedo4life if you think this is chill look at how to love by lil wayne

  • artige . no

  • What about the operating system in the what you need?

  • Smooth! 5*

  • Straight to the point loved it if anyone is looking for a custom made pc really cheap

  • @sgh069 well, you have to install an os on it!

  • lol "Discharge yourself before you begin"

  • @SoulSocietyMk2

i do not see whats funny with that

  • @f922v Im am just very, Very juvenile.

Anyway , When I was younger and we were gettting Sex Education from our school , The teacher would call ejaculation "Discharging"

  • Thats a small case. Prety good video and straight to the point.

  • FANTASTIC VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ahh...how much costs all this components??

  • i cant make a pc even if i poop myself!

  • Thats weird i always discharge myself at the end.

  • thanks a lot u helpt sooo much

  • I can't go on youtube because I broke my motherboard in half....also what is a youtube?

  • Do you need to have a case?

  • @matman972 Technically you can build your own. But cases are designed for an easy install and provide optimal airflow. I've seen people make computers out of desks and cabinets. Just takes some fabricating.

  • @jmc62093 Yeah man Im building a pc under 500 dollars- decent specs, it can play all games today. Just jeep researchin

  • I'm 18 in high school working minimum wage and would love to build a real monster of a machine. Something that can play games such as The Witcher 2 with 40+ frames/sec. Can I afford to build one without going broke?

  • Great vid simple steps, easy :)

  • that wasn't small amount :)

  • very helpful thx for showing all the basics

  • Seriously, what song is this?

  • discharge myself or make some discharge? :/

  • Built my Phenom II x4 with this video...

  • @omglolwtfmudkips How much did it cost you?

  • @Demondestiny0x

$700. Pretty good gaming build. Nice air efficient case, Radeon 5770, 4gb of ram (woulda gotten 6gb if I haven't chosen ddr2) and 1TB HDD with windows 7.

  • @omglolwtfmudkips I'm doing the x6

  • @sobewong

    I wish I could have done the x6 :(

But it was an extra $40 and my Phenom was $140.

  • @omglolwtfmudkips does it work and run well?

  • @theaveragejoe32

Runs like a dream with any game out there.

  • @omglolwtfmudkips good 4 u

  • The hardest part: those damn led/front pins. *facepalms

Took me 2 days too figure it out.

  • @Ripafartstudios Did you build your first Computer? What was hard about it? Why where the LED's so hard?

  • @TheOriginalRuskin I didnt have the book for the motherboard and the case was old, so i wasnt really up-to-date.

  • @TheOriginalRuskin Front panel connectors are always stupid.. Just so you know, spend extra money on a decent computer case, going with a $40 one isn't always the best idea.

  • @mario11168 @mario11168 I already ordered all my stuff. is this a good case? - RAIDMAX Quantum ATX-798WB Black SECC ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

  • @TheOriginalRuskin Ah yes very nice case, I have that one. Just put the hard drives in first, otherwise it will be a huge pain later.

  • @mario11168 alright. Thanks :)

  • Discharges his static but uses a magnetic screwdriver?

  • around 3:20 can someone help me, just it says hook up the front buttons and LED's, and do the same for firewire and audio. I am building a PC, have all the parts ready to order but haven't ordered yet. where do those come from? Also, do the SATA cables come with the DVD Drives?

  • @TheOriginalRuskin The cables for the lights, power button and usb etc. come from the case. They come from the frot panel of the case. Cables fon't usually come with DVD drives but, have a look at the specs sheet and you will see! Hope this helps! :-)

  • ummmm i dont want to kill myself sooooooo do you do the discharge on pluged outled or an unpluged one?

  • this pc can't start beacuse the VGA don't start whit 12v power only, but it needs the dual power (12v and 5v)

  • Email gaming4cheap@yahoo.com for 300$ gaming computer. NEW!

  • LOL JUST THROW THAT CPU RIGHT IN THERE

  • What was that, that you touched when you "discharged"?

  • @BloodTribute

That's what multi-way adapters look like in continental Europe. He touched the metal bit (earth) of a plugged in socket to get rid of any static charge in his body/clothing (otherwise the sensitive bits of his computer could be damaged). Touching a metal radiator or any large metal object connected to the ground should also work. Hope this helps!

  • @bowehj96 Ok thanks! I ended up getting one of those static wristband things for my first build a week ago. Worked out perfectly!

  • The word paste just grosses me out.

  • @dikkeman what phone have you got?

  • Um the graphics card comes with the motherboard right?

  • @nashbored1231 rarely they come with a graphics card inside but usually not unless you buy an intel processor with an inbuilt graphics card

  • What graphics card is that please respond

  • Bad camera angle. Hands constantly blocking the view. Moving onto the next scene before finishing installing each piece. This video is only useful for people who already know what they're doing. For those who don't, this was far too vague, as we can't even see half the things you're doing.

  • funny my old pc came without a case fan. is this a bad thing?

  • Pretty basic video..... If you want all the directions written out with pictures of how to build a computer check out (elitepcbuilding . com) , I found it to be much more useful.

  • But, what about different models (i am a noob) i have for axample a "intel pentium 4 3.0ghz" so if i go out and by a "Intel Core i7-950 - 3.06 GHz" it will works? How do you know if new things fit with "your" computer, are all parts-models the same, or do different brands work with other brands? best regards, Denmark,

  • @Learncountriescom The MainCard must have same ''socket'' as processor :P

  • How come a 2006 Video showing HOW TO BUILD YOUR OWN PC is more helpfull than a 2011 one ?

  • i hate you, you make this look easy.

  • I put too much thought into static. But is that really all you gotta do to get static of you ? 0:53 ? its that simple and easy ? People go on about wrist straps and static mats etc. That look so simple compare to what others say.

  • (haven't read all the comments) Just wondering if there was a reason for the order of your steps. I'm about to build my first (hurry delivery guys!!) and I was thinking "install the mobo first...then CPU, heatsink...etc...

  • @radioman970 Because when you install MOBO first it's not so easy to carefully install CPU because of the space that is left. Whem MOBO is installed and you have problems attaching the heatsink (you sometimes need pressure) you bend (break) the motherboard.

Hey, but you can do it anyway you want ;-)

  • @dikkeman Sounds logical. I'll just set mine right on top of the box it came in to do the work. Also, I remembered you have attachment that goes underneath the board where your processor is.

Btw, I crushed a $150 AMD CPU years back trying to put in a fancy heatsink on a badly designed ASUS board. I was able to get it on a Gigabyte board with no probs years later and it worked well. Still, my last mono ASUS, new one ASUS. Great boards most of the time. Giga was too.

  • @dikkeman depends if ur usin amd or intel if its intel then yea u would need to attch fan on first b4 sticking motherboard in case were as with amd its diffrent coz u just clip the metals things on the cpu fan on to the plastic hooks or wat ever u call them on the motherboard

  • @dikkeman na dude u always install the cpu and heat sink first as it easier when not inside the case and also u can pick up the motherboard by the cpu heat sink trust me bro ive done numerous builds

  • Is this something that anyone can do, or should I get help from someone who knows something about computers?

  • @TheAgentOfFallout It's not nearly as complicated as it seems. It's actually pretty simple, and almost anyone can do it. However, if you have never built your own computer before, it's probably best if you have someone nearby who can assist you. There are a lot of small details and certain precautions and steps that you must know, so until you get some experience, you might want to get someone to help you just in case.

  • @SoniQ15 Thanks for the help

  • wear rubber gloves if without discharge equipment

  • I'm glad to see that this video didn't have some crappy punk rock band blaring while a teenager with shaky hands videotaped himself putting neon lights into his computer.
