The thing he touched to, 'de-static' himself was just an ordinary power outlet, but it's one that's used in countries other than mine and yours obviously.
Hi, I'm wondering if after i install windows 7 on my new pc if i can take my old vista pc that dieds hard drive and use that a second hard drive cause alot of my stuff wont work without the files on that hard drive.
I was gonna get a gaming PC in a few weeks, just have to find a motherboard and a couple other things. I'm just wondering if a board has a PCIe 3.0 slot, can a GTX 560 Ti go into it...or does it have to be 2.0. Wanted to do SLI at one point but it has one 2.0 and two 3.0 slots.
Usually Intel and AMD processors have stock heatsinks that have thermal paste already applied.
You have to have a Hard Disk Drive (Internal HDD) and preferably a DVD drive to install a disc operating system.
You might need to download and install audio/internet drivers. Usually if you buy your motherboard, it should come with a driver installation disc that installs the essentials.
how do u know where to plug in the wires for the case power button and led lights and stuff like that cuz my coolermaster case wasn't all attached it was in 2 pins and i had to have my uncle help me but i still dont get it.
Thanks for this great video,i am going to build my own pc and this is more than helpfull, you have write everything so clearly and it was not hard to understand what you mean,Thanks Alot for you. :D
@HeartbetSensor They come with your motherboard. You will have a cd. You can also download them. But when you install W7 and have internet access al will be done automatically.
@dikkeman Are you dutch? I'm building my own pc aswell ( Intel pentium 2 and 4) but my LED'S are flashing nd the floppy led is flashing and it's making a weird tikking noise.
@AceStrife I feel you man. This is the first video I saw that gave me inspiration to build computers and this music really got to me. I wish I knew who composed this. This video brings back so many memories it almost brings a tear to my eye lol.
I amazed how many of these vid are here on the tube but no one ever show how to set up the other stuff like the operating system and booting up etc. Nice vid though.
All you have to do is hit F8 or F6 while the computer is booting up (depends on motherboard), use the arrow keys to configure the right options. Then just save the settings and restart, insert your OS disc and depending on what OS you go with, it should guide you through the process.
@matman972 Technically you can build your own. But cases are designed for an easy install and provide optimal airflow. I've seen people make computers out of desks and cabinets. Just takes some fabricating.
I'm 18 in high school working minimum wage and would love to build a real monster of a machine. Something that can play games such as The Witcher 2 with 40+ frames/sec. Can I afford to build one without going broke?
hey iv got one of the worst Computers in the world and i really need some help...
If a Few of you awsome guys go type this (Biggest Giveaway EVER! $700. Pretty good gaming build. Nice air efficient case, Radeon 5770, 4gb of ram (woulda gotten 6gb if I haven't chosen ddr2) and 1TB HDD with windows 7.
@TheOriginalRuskin Front panel connectors are always stupid.. Just so you know, spend extra money on a decent computer case, going with a $40 one isn't always the best idea.
around 3:20 can someone help me, just it says hook up the front buttons and LED's, and do the same for firewire and audio. I am building a PC, have all the parts ready to order but haven't ordered yet. where do those come from? Also, do the SATA cables come with the DVD Drives?
@TheOriginalRuskin The cables for the lights, power button and usb etc. come from the case. They come from the frot panel of the case. Cables fon't usually come with DVD drives but, have a look at the specs sheet and you will see! Hope this helps! :-)
That's what multi-way adapters look like in continental Europe. I put too much thought into static. But is that really all you gotta do to get static of you ? 0:53 ? its that simple and easy ? People go on about wrist straps and static mats etc. That look so simple compare to what others say.
(haven't read all the comments) Just wondering if there was a reason for the order of your steps. I'm about to build my first (hurry delivery guys!!) and I was thinking "install the mobo first...then CPU, heatsink...etc...
@radioman970 Because when you install MOBO first it's not so easy to carefully install CPU because of the space that is left. Whem MOBO is installed and you have problems attaching the heatsink (you sometimes need pressure) you bend (break) the motherboard.
@dikkeman Sounds logical. I'll just set mine right on top of the box it came in to do the work. Also, I remembered you have attachment that goes underneath the board where your processor is.
Btw, I crushed a $150 AMD CPU years back trying to put in a fancy heatsink on a badly designed ASUS board. I was able to get it on a Gigabyte board with no probs years later and it worked well. Still, my last mono ASUS, new one ASUS. Great boards most of the time. Giga was too.
@dikkeman depends if ur usin amd or intel if its intel then yea u would need to attch fan on first b4 sticking motherboard in case were as with amd its diffrent coz u just clip the metals things on the cpu fan on to the plastic hooks or wat ever u call them on the motherboard
@dikkeman na dude u always install the cpu and heat sink first as it easier when not inside the case and also u can pick up the motherboard by the cpu heat sink trust me bro ive done numerous builds
@TheAgentOfFallout It's not nearly as complicated as it seems. It's actually pretty simple, and almost anyone can do it. However, if you have never built your own computer before, it's probably best if you have someone nearby who can assist you. There are a lot of small details and certain precautions and steps that you must know, so until you get some experience, you might want to get someone to help you just in case.
I'm glad to see that this video didn't have some crappy punk rock band blaring while a teenager with shaky hands videotaped himself putting neon lights into his computer.

(haven't read all the comments) Just wondering if there was a reason for the order of your steps. I'm about to build my first (hurry delivery guys!!) and I was thinking "install the mobo first...then CPU, heatsink...etc...
radioman970 11 months ago
@radioman970 Because when you install MOBO first it's not so easy to carefully install CPU because of the space that is left. Whem MOBO is installed and you have problems attaching the heatsink (you sometimes need pressure) you bend (break) the motherboard.
Hey, but you can do it anyway you want ;-)

Is this something that anyone can do, or should I get help from someone who knows something about computers?
TheAgentOfFallout 11 months ago
@TheAgentOfFallout It's not nearly as complicated as it seems. It's actually pretty simple, and almost anyone can do it. However, if you have never built your own computer before, it's probably best if you have someone nearby who can assist you. There are a lot of small details and certain precautions and steps that you must know, so until you get some experience, you might want to get someone to help you just in case.

I'm glad to see that this video didn't have some crappy punk rock band blaring while a teenager with shaky hands videotaped himself putting neon lights into his computer.
