Hey! nice hybrid! I've had a look at the construction pics - good job.
I had to use a 6mm machine thread as well! (I couldn't find a 1/4" machine screw anywhere). It's a little bit dodgey, but does the job as long as you always remember not to do it up too tightly (or it will definately strip the thread in your camera).
Looks like we are using the same camera too!
