@thenissan562 you can drive in the rain, you just cant submerge them in water. So advoid puddles when driving, or water will run through your filter and into your engine causing it to hydrolock.

Spec-Vs may be better and faster, but the 1.8 is far more reliable.

Nice ride man. I have a spec-v i have had both the b15 an b16 version an they are not as fast as these hard core spec driver's say they are. They are quick from the start but after 4th gear all the power is gone. For the money they spent they should have got a srt-4. But i will say a 1.8 wil not beat a 2.5 spec-v. It's just common sense.

i am still in the process of building this, and for all you shit talkers saying your specv would beat me, i've dusted two specv's by car lengthes already... mods not listed : spec-v throttle body, ported intake manifold, safcII. not to mention that my 1.8 is lighter. i'll be updating soon then see you bitches squawk then.

Nice for an everyday driver. I wouldn't do anything else though. Not worth upgrading unless you do an engine swap.

I'm just sayin, if the owner is concerned with speed, he made a huge mistake at square 1 with buying a GXE. When I read this guy's post he doesn't sound like he has the resources or know how to build a 1.8 and install a turbo kit (no offense). He should save his money and buy something with a more sporty intent.

Is that manual? Didn't realize they made 1.8SE in manual. I have an auto '06 Sentra QG18. Same style header, ebay intake, and soon a Flowmaster 40 series muffler. Not a race car by far, it's mostly for fun. And hopefully ANTI-rice. Nice sounds in car btw.

Without a dyno i'd just be throwing out numbers. I will say that it keeps up with my Grand Prix SE (210hp, 260ft lbs of torque) until about 60 I start to slowly creep away.

He's actually planning on getting rid of it since they're is essentially no aftermarket backing for the QG18DE and he's already had a blown head gasket, and most recently a blown engine with only 60K miles on it.

I have a Sentra 1.8 Special Edition as well. Got a cheapy Ebay 4-2-1 header, short ram intake and resonated tip... Sounds means when I drive hard, but it has this annoying raspiness at ~2k rpm and during idle sounds like metal clanking sometimes haha.
