The Movie was good but they messed up the ending in the book sperm whales kill the beast which makes ssense because the sperm whale is the only thing that could take it down

@junglejedi1 It does make sense, but think of it like this: in terms of film, it's a downer ending. The same thing happened in "Jaws." In the book, the shark gets impaled too many times, and dies from its own wounds and sinks. That, too, is a downer ending.  So, Spielberg changed that when he made "Jaws".

@spieljawsfan What irritated me wasn't the ending, but the fact that they made the squid an angry mother out for revenge. That kind of ruined what could of been an otherwise decent TV movie.

ok you all think you were scared by this well i live in australia next to patonga beach where it was filmed and i shit my self when i watched it cause we had just got bac from our school camp there like the week before and we were playing jumping of the warf and we even walked over to the rock pool at pearl beach wich is where they filmed the babie part lets just say im 22 and i still won't swim at patonga beach its creepy and has this real strong smell of fish and the water is ereally merky

pff! in australia u have everything to be afraid of! the waters are filled with the deadliest sharks and crocodiles, then theres the poisonous animals too!

sharks and crocs are not that bad here in oz, like you said its mostly the deadly snakes and spiders but the chances of getting attacked by any of the above are very slim...most dickheads that get taken by crocs are swimming at waterholes they are not supposed to be. shark attacks are random and most of the bad snakes/spiders stay out of peoples way. any who...im guessing your from us? dont you have like bears and wolves, coyotes and tarantulas...seems pretty even to me. lol.

well, ya i guess thats true... but it depends wat part u live in. bears mostly live in wildlife parks and coyotes and turantulas live...im not sure where. but i guess its the same with australia huh? u would probably be safest in the city parts?

yeah, i grew up in a country town so i saw loads of red belly black snakes, king browns and tiger snakes. also red back and whitetail spiders. its the northern territory thats renowned for crocs. im in the city now and we dont see anything deadly...or if we do its very occasionally. depends where you live for sure.

I remember being 6 years old & this was My favorite movie ever when I was little. I think it's a "Sci-Fi" channel movie, if it is, than it's got great special effects for a late 90's TV movie.

lol this movie is awesome and allthought its just jaws with a squid humm should be called tentacales...its a very enjoyable film lol i was completley obssesd when i were like 8 that squid terrified me on my sunday morning swimming lessons hahha

I have this movie on dvd,put I should tell you some scenes have been cut out,after the baby squid is killed and the mom comes up,that bit is cut out,also the bit where that are checking out the dead baby and the mum is there is also cut out,in the sub before the mum kills them,when they are teasing the guy was cut out,when the baby squid holds on to the anchor has been cut out,so if you want to know where you can purchase this dvd let me know.

there's a 2-disc extended edition that came out that contains the whole miniseries. Nothing is cut out.
