Too much pitch bending and rhythmic freedom on "You're Just In Love!" It's not stylistically appropriate to bend and stretch THAT much. This isn't a 70s ballad! Gah! At the same time, this song is so rarely sung, that I'm just glad they did it. :)
This is quite pleasant. They both have such unique voices and quite lovely! May Karen Carpenter rest in peace - it will always be so sad about her anorexia and losing the fight. She deserved so much better, but her talent lives eternally!
I love the Carpenters' music dearly, and they were my favorite band for three years. I was more addicted than anyone I ever met... yet, I feel that someone needed to tell Karen to wear different dresses. This is a prime example of her look going wrong. She was still an attractive woman, though. She just wore dresses that didn't complement her.
Little Karen Carpenter, bless her heart. I wish they had understood more about how to treat anorexia back in the early 1980's, Karen might still be with us.

This duet version should've been on "As Time Goes By"...instead of Richard replacing his vocals with John's...

It's such a shame how corny this was. They had so much talent and potential.

She wore these outfits to HIDE her anorexia. It was the designers who did this...and plus she was going for a classy look...

@karencarpenterfan I disagree. Her dresses are very pretty and compliment her.

Wow, I'm happy I stumbled across this, I remembering seeing this back then and thinking what a great version of "You're just in love" they made.
Seeing it now brought a tear to my eye, of fond days gone by.
Thanks for posting.
