Great song, I love it. But I've just heard too much music, too many tunes in my life time to be able to say that this is the best dance tune ever. That's just me.
Undisputed heavyweight dance / hip hop track of all time. Its moody and uplifting at the same time and I could listen to the breakbeat loop all day and never get bored ! Played this none stop in my car in the 1990's around the center of London.
If I could re-release just one song this would be it!
i love this song .. as i am from Bristol in UK where this group comes from .. and i live opposite the Parents of 'Daddy G' from this group . so i see him sometimes n say hi to him
This song tops many polls as the best dance tune of all time. The lush strings and trip-hop sound made this an instant classic. The drum loop on this song is from a song called Take me to the Mardi Gras. The video with Shara Nelson was shot in one go at West Pico Boulevard, Los Angeles. The video is famous for Shara Nelson walking while ignoring what is happening around her. The Group were asked in 1991 to change their name to "Massive" because of the Gulf War in 1991 but never did,
@kilchoan1234 I was living in the UK in 1991, and they did change their name to Massive for a time. In fact: at 0:50 in this vid you'll see a copy of a cover from that period, just calling themselves Massive. Whatever, they are my favorite band/collective of all time.
@kilchoan1234 Well said mate! This IS the tune and always will be. Massive Attack were always years ahead of there time,,,cant believe how well its stood the test of time. Still sounds fresh and beautiful now.
@kilchoan1234 I never really considered this a dance tune -- but then, I don't really dance or go to clubs, so maybe I misunderstand what that term means. To me, it's a song to relax to, I song to think about, maybe a song to blaze to. :)
