think.... this is the pet shop boys "electro remix" of the tune. they were working with her a few years back.. you have i-tunes? type in yoko ono and walking on this ice and the single for it shows up and it has this song remixed by like 8 differnt remixers and the pet shop boys. but it sounds like the pet shop boys one.

But when they progressed to Elenor Rigby it showed they were not just traditional pop artists. Show me any boy band thats had a huge hit with a somber melody & dark lyrics accompanied by a complex string arrangement....i dont really think you can.
Now if you had said that about the Monkeys...great pop band but still...
