  • @Krotatne001 better at sucking dicks ofc

  • @BludySkinz better at music

  • Hughes, Coverdale, Blackmore they are simple the best at what they do ;) and to think it was a time when they were in one band :)

  • @DanceIsOwer they were good ,but giilian and glover were better

  • That was a totally awesome concert!!!! ELP basically challenged the laws, ending festivals like this at 10 or 11 pm. They asked, "What are they going to do? Arrest all of us?"

Any others out there, that was there? We sat between the two towers.

  • The rainbow was just a sign of peace and harmony with so many people paid and 2x as many that crashed their way in? it was insane. imgaine trying to go pee.. I went to both Calif Jams but this one was a learning experience for sure. peace rock n roll.

  • si andasse aspararare chi ha detto nn mi piace

  • ... I want to see Blackmore's finges on the fretboard and not his back...

  • Wow. it is legendary performance of Deep Purple mark-III.

Ritchie Blackmore. Jon Lord. Ian Paice. David Coverdale. Glenn Hughes. they are my favorite musicians!!

By the way. my guitar play was greatly influenced by Mr.Ritchie Blackmore.

  • Anyone know the significance of the rainbow..

  • coverdale*

  • david civerdale is a fucking god

  • Coverdale looks so young! I barely recognized him at first!

  • 2:41

  • Glenn Hughes e David Coverdale, grande parceria nos vocais! As melhores interpretações de Smoke On The Water são dessa formação.

  • Best Deep Purple mine up right here.

  • An ever-enduring contemporary classic. only behind the Gillan's way of singing this song.

  • A contemporary classic. only behind the Gillan's way of singing this song.

  • A contemporary classic.

  • Jon Lord is the deepest Purple!

  • ONCE I SAW THIS GUITAR PLAYER

    I WAS IN ABSOLUTE SHOCK

HE PLAYS THE THING LIKE ITS HIS GOD

    AND YOU KNOW WHAT

    HENDRIX WOULD BE PROUD

IF YOU LIKE HENDRIX PAGE OR ANY OF THE GREATS THIS GUY IS SURELY GONNA BE UP THERE

  • @AbsoluteZeroMusic I really hope it didn't take you until three weeks ago to figure this out. Also check out Michael Schenker ( UFO ) Rory Gallagher, Ace Frehley of KISS, Mel Galley of Trapeze, and the bands Krokus, Judas Priest and Triumph.

  • this is why i play guitar

  • Hughes sings better than Coverdale! By the way, sounds good

  • mmm .... no words... thanks

  • where i can find tab of this intro? so awesome!

  • @GCFJXDHK310 you play it one string lower than the original. So it would be

    D-----3---5 KK?

    A-5---3---5

    E-5

  • @Syklenut41 yes thanks. but i wanted the tabs of the intro solo if is possible:)

  • @GCFJXDHK310 o ok i dont know that.

  • best intro ever!

  • coverdale should never have sang this song he sounds like a 17 year old nerd with braces ian gillan is the only person who should ever sing this also the bass isn't nearly as good as glover

  • @missmeleeRS the bass played is much better tha glover ever was. And the bass player happens to be known as the voice of rock as well ! Coverdale sounds great on this song, as on every song he sings. Maybe you just dont like someone that doesnt scream all the time ? :)

  • mto looooco

  • legal o toque da guitarra

  • @Vitaum281 eh lgl msm

  • Stop this MkII vs MkIII shit . They were both great line-ups and deserve respect. Hate the wretched state of today's pop music.

  • They should have dropped this song from their set as soon as Ian Gillan left. Coverversion has no right to sing this song and the fact that they needed two vocalists to sing this is proof positive that the only person who should sing this classic is the great Ian Gillan.

  • @Sargebri they didnt need two vocalists.. They complemented each other. And now they could sing something that wasnt just in a higher range and boring. They could be more diverse, and sing all kinds of music :)

Gillan sang in one way all the time, which he was great at, but it was becoming a bit boring, as gillan himself said :) And it's stupid to call him coverversion to put him down, like you dont have a real argument, you must call him stupid names.

  • @Sargebri coverdale made a name for himself with whitesnake, selling more in one record than purple did in many years, a purple-related record has never sold as much as the 87-album not even a purple record! Last UK top 20 album: sometime in the late 80ies. All Whitesnake albums (except the current one) since 1980 has been UK top 10 albums !

And btw gillan cant sing today, it is a shame, because he used to be good.

  • I saw this on ABC-TV back in the day,and love it just as much as I did then!!!!!

  • That intro is amazing, Coverdale sucks :)

  • 1 dislike! damn..

  • @9706767DD wok sushi!!!!

  • Он от Бога, ГИТАРИСТ, ТАЛАНТ, лучший в мире!!!

  • @9706767DD You're wrong, man! Jimmy Page - лучший! :))))

  • i love this line up...i mean they are all geniouses! But for me the only "real" DEEP PURPLE is the gillan-ritchie-roger-lord-paise .... not that the burn line up is bad...to the contrary...they are stunning...but the original deep purple sound has to have gillan on vox and roger on bass...imho

  • @nemogre disagree with you completely, prefer this line-up, but roger/gillan wasnt in original purple either :)

  • Somebody shoot him

  • RITCHIE BLACKMORE !!!!!

  • i love david coverdale. blackmore is the best

  • Shit...that is Cloverdale on lead vocals! And all this time I thought Gillan was still on at this point in history. Incidentally I saw Purple in New Hampshire in 04 and Gillan was lead vocals. They were FUCKING GRRRREAT!

  • justin bieber dislikes this!

  • @MixatoFreeKill I am sorry.. but he doesn't know how to use internet :/

  • @MixatoFreeKill LMFAO

  • Hughes is better for this tune.

  • Love style of Blackmore. I Can listen this always

  • Glenn hughes is a monster!

  • @ak47dragunov until you hear him singing

  • I agree, I have loved Ritchie Blackmore for ages. For the 5 years that I have played guitar, I have nearly always learnt Depp Purple stuff. Ever since I was really into Deep Purple, I have decided never to quit guitar. Thanks Ritchie!!

  • coverdale sings "THEY" all came out to montreux !! :P

  • WHAT A TIME-PERIOD MEN!!!!

  • David Coverdale has a fuckin' groove.

  • this is the first song i learned to play in the guitar; still these dudes are cocks.

  • hey david cant say his R's it sounds like dang just like me

  • best formation of deep purple! blackmore and coverdale forever!

  • Maybe the most important Rocksong forever. Everybody on the planet knows the tune. But the best version is Made in Japan - sorry David - with Ian Gillan.

  • @4everRory

everything what you say here is true ;)

  • Dont forget Glenn Hughes greatest singer ever walked on Earth. These two were the Lennon & McCartney of rock when they really worked together. Check out Glen Hughes now, hes even better, one of the few who can really pull it off live.

  • @davidthegarner Finelly someone who shares my opinion. Stormbringer is my favorite album of all time I love this Line-up Glenn is playing Dublin in October cant wait to finelly see him I have nearaly everything he has ever recorded

  • Awesome.

  • One of the best versions I've ever heard of this song! Deep Purple are amazing with every "Mark"!

  • David Coverdale sounds great here.........I almost forgot he was in Deep Purple because his Whitesnake career was so huge.

  • Blackmore greatest guitarist ever!!!

  • @criminaljaxx nop

  • c'mon on and burn it doooooowwn !! coverdale rules here !1.fucking classic rock at it's finest !!

  • Pretty good quality. I did the sound BROADCAST for California Jam and it sounds a bit different than this.

  • coool

  • Smoke On The Water burned and tattooed with flames on your skind forever by Mr. Ritchie Blackmore's solo. That solo is one of the best in history, if not the best.

  • I was there Blackmore was'nt there he was sick they had a stand in.

  • Lol.

  • @Caljamscott : I I was chemically impaired at the jam and apparently during that post. I think Ian was sick.

  • I like Ian singing. It's much better

  • o melhor cantor do mundo é o covedale o gillan num canta um terço

  • Love David Coverdale Best Vocalist Alive

  • @kriston1989 Why does he suck so damn much? First he's poses as Ian Gillan, then Robert Plant. He's not even an artist. That's his whole freaking career! Just ass ripping off of other frontmen. DISGUSTING! NOw his voice is fucked completely up because he's been singing like Ian and Robert for 30 years. Fuck him.

  • @aaronscrewme I think You're wrong. Coverdale long time walk to His fame, and I don't think he's bad.

  • @aaronscrewme no, fuck you ! :) he is one of the greatest vocalists of all time. In a poll he ended before Gillan btw :) He does not pose as Ian Gillan, he isnt anything like Gillan, thank God :) And this trying to be like Robert Plant is just stupid to me. If anything, he sang the blues like paul rodgers but :) he's a great artist and often ends up in polls as a better singer than Ian. He has sold more records than Ian. He couldnt have built such a sucessful career copying someone else!

  • @leppardsnake Reality is against you. He canceled whatever halfass tour because he can't be Plant, or Gillan. He even was with Jimmy Page you idiot., it's laughable. Wearing Plants bracelets, the exact same kind on stage, what a freak-show.

  • @aaronscrewme cancelled what tour? You mean the one with page, the US tour was cancelled because there wasnt enough demand. Funny part was plant took over many of the venues for the dates, who is following whom ? ;D

Weaing plants bracelets, the exact same kind of stage, now that was stupid of you to say. A man is can wear whatever he wants to. His voice is not even a lik plants or gillans.. More like paul rodgers :) but he is better than Rodgers, he is the greatest vocalist of all time!

  • @leppardsnake "Weaing plants bracelets, the exact same kind of stage, now that was stupid of you to say." Sorry kid, it's the truth. You have no say in the matter. "is the greatest vocalist of all time!" Wow fuck no.

  • @aaronscrewme well it is stupid of you to say such a thing, since what does that has to do with anything? If you are to compare things, it'd be the vocals, right ? And they are not similar at all. Coverdale is a baritone and a blues man..

I have no say in the matter, haha.. ofc I do, we all do.

  • @kriston1989 no no no,,the greatest vocalist of all are freddie mercury of queen and robert plant of led zeppelin

  • @hernandez37219 Freddie Mercury is incredibly, but he is so overrated, he could never touch Gillan, Plant, Cornell, or even Buckley for that matter, and a few other people, but to all these people calling Coverdale a copycat, he is one of the greatest voices of all time. For a short period of time in both Whitesnake, and with Jimmy Page, vocally you could say he sounded like he was trying to copy Plant, but that hasn't been his entire career. The majority of the time he was in Deep Purple

  • @hernandez37219 He sounded absolutely nothing like Gillan, so how was he copying Gillan? He wasn't at all, he was trying to sing bluesy, and soulful, and rough. The majority of all the high screams in Deep Purple that could even be compared to Gillan at this time were all done by Glenn Hughes, and Coverdale just sounded like himself. Only person you might compare him too from the time is Hagar, but definitely not Gillan.

  • @kriston1989

    David Coverdale sucks

  • @kmz16 fuck off and watch this video ever again!!!

  • @kriston1989 Robert Plant Isn't dead O.O

  • @wipuguay I never said he was

  • ohw.....blacmore blackmore...u'r the inspiration..

  • This song sucked in 1975 performance. David Coverdale rulez!!

  • Deep Purple - Nothing Without Gillan & Glover. Long Live Gillan & Glover.

  • you mean blackmore

  • @alexi13fucker stive morse is also great!

  • Blackmore ends his solo very fine:D

  • Deep Purple - Smoke On The Water (Live, 1973)

This is where it's happening for Deep Purple's Smoke on the Water!

  • people are anal out be stickin to the record, the only consistant thing i need to hear in the tune is Blackmore on guitar, i fhe picks pink on vocals good enuff

  • It sounds as if someone had punched Coverdale in the moutch REAL hard....

  • Coverdale estaba sobrando xD

  • The best live version of this song is on Made In Japan, Blackmore,Gillan,Glover,Lord,Paice, was the best Purple line up Coverdale and Hughes should have just stuck to performing thier own songs because they ruined this one,and what was all that screaming and crying at the end about.

  • I was there......

  • dave coverdale apesta!

  • YEAHHHH FUCKING ROCK AND ROLL so good DEEP PURPLE yeahh many greetings since PERÚ-Arequipa

  • Glenn Hughes is singing as well!
