How can people be so dumb that they still like Helen Clark? She put NZ in to a recession BEFORE the GFC. She damaged NZ not only economically but socially. Without record high dairy prices NZ would be even deeper. The only people that benefited from her reign are those that didn't work. I am a proud 5th gen NZer, born in NZ, highly educated, that just had to get out after 2005. NZ isn't the place it was for my ancestors. The balance of votes is held by 2nd gen poms and South Auckland.

@MedicAmbo5000 The reference to 2nd gen poms was pointed toward the assisted immigration after WW2 that saw Britain have another crack at exporting her underclass (after the Australian experiment), certainly not English in general (a few Chavs now are just bad luck). Ms. Clarks position in the UN isn't based on economic credentials (and she is experienced at handing out other peoples money to basket cases) - the fact you don't understand that, and have to resort to foul language, well...

Time has passed and proven Helen Clark is very astute at getting her own agenda with or without supporting NZ and its economy. She failed to disclosed so much and ran all over NZer's interests in pursuit of her own interests that it should be a crime to do so. So many NZ'ers failed to even appreciate what she did behind the scenes.

@trademestuff - your right. Think tax changes will make things better- NOT! Nothing will save the economy. It slowly dies from being put on the path of distruction by Helen. Social and minority group issues have become more important than turning it into an economic powerhouse. But Hey, thats what the people voted for "a poor economy and more about rights and interests of minorities". Drill for oil and own it, then NZ would be well positioned. Instead Helen Govt gifts away licences every year
