  • If Perry had his druthers & Tx did secede from the US, now that a large portion of Tx is on fire would he still expect the fed help he is getting now?

  • cali is worse than tx

    even though perry is gay

  • Rick Perry my man!

  • OMG, over a month of media bullshit summarized in under 45 seconds!

  • Th swine only killed one person. This was just overblown.

  • Wait, what? Didn't it kill like, more than 100 people in Mexico?

  • Yes, but Mexico a third world country with little access to health facilities. Most of the people who died from the disease were in southern Mexican slums.

  • 4 people and over 600 cases in us

  • If Texas succeeds, my family and I are leaving...

    -Abrown in Houston

  • bye

  • I've read alot of your commentaries here. You are so Un-American, why the heck don't you leave?

  • Who, the libertarian or me? I'm a minarchist.

  • Great idea abrown! That is exactly what Texas and I are proposing.

  • A texas succession from the US would mean a 1 party system for the country. How many electoral votes come from texas? Other than having a democrat governor (ann richards) they have been pretty much straight republican for a long time. If you were to take the texas votes out of the college, democrats would have the constitution rewritten in no time at all.

  • So you're making fun of a state who want to part from the united states because of it's tyranny just because they want to stop their people from dying of swine flu?

Dick. Alwasy funny, but in this case, a dumb dick.

  • Forget Texas seceding from the union, can we just kick the cowboys out of the NFL?

    Signed,

    Skins fan

And all other fans tired of hearing about that over hyped sack of garbage every year that can't win a playoff game for a decade and a half.

  • This is hilarious. "Seriously, give us the drugs." XD I don't always like these things, but this one was fucking funny.

  • In the last election 39% of the voters in Texas voted to have Rick Perry stay as Governor, 61% voted against him having another term.

He'll not be relected as his #s now are even worse.

  • I hate you Rick Perry. For the good of Texas, and the UNITED States of America, crawl back under your rock. You suck. Thank you, a Texan.

  • Make up your mind Gov "Piggy."

  • Lol...too funny!!

  • Technically, California and Texas could suceed, because they're a part of the US only by treaty. Then again, it would be seen as treason in todays world, and we'd force them back in if they tried anything like that.

  • Texas could spit up into 5 states. They can't secede. No state has that right.

  • Um... They can. All they need to do is to ... you know ... do it.

  • Oh they can try. The point is that they don't have a right to secede. No state has a right to secede.

  • Did the U.S. have the right to secede from the crown? Secession is a statement not a question. Ideally, we would like to peacefully secede from the union much like Slovakia seceded from the Czechoslovakia in 1993. Its tragic that the president who started much of the current mess in the U.S. came from here.

  • My reply was to someone who thought that Texas has some treaty-borne right to secede whenever they want to and that the federal govt can only stand by idly and watch them do it. This is false. There is no special option for secession for the state of Texas. If Texas secedes, it's going to find the brunt of the United States coming down hard on it.

  • Why is that necessary? We are committed to not initiating violence against the union. Please show me where in the U.S. constitution that it reads that you are required to attack a state that no longer wishes to be in the union.

  • I would suggest that you look up Texas v White. The Supreme Court ruled that the Constitution forbids any state to secede. Such a secession would be viewed as a act of treason.

  • Voluntary membership ensures that the union stays true to its principles in service to the member states. Coerced membership is a sure path to tyranny.

  • The union is violating the consitution in many ways, including failing to commit this nation to war in the method required and turning over the function of valuing of money to private bankers. There is no way to bring these cases against the federal gov because it simply decides not to hear them. For Texas the answer is to get out. If they want to call it treason, so be it. WE WILL NOT SHOOT FIRST.

  • Tremendous stupidity.

  • As we stray from the noble principles of our founding, this empire becomes no more permanent than the Roman one which preceded it. Additionally, its leaders are taking the same steps to assure its demise. What is "Tremendous stupidity' is to fail to plan for the continuance of the Republic of Texas apart from ANY union. Texas is a wonderful place with great resources. She deserves to stand among the nations.

  • I'm fine with Texas seceeding- but if they do, can California secede next? most of the country doesn't seem to like us very much, and I think it's time to leave this failing relationship.

  • California seems very pro-union. If we go, you are welcome to join us in the Republic of Texas. We don't offer the big government services that you may be used to. We offer opportunity and freedom instead in a country without an income tax.

  • No income tax.... I'm in.

  • Now you have a more realistic analogy. A war of independance is not really a secession. You're talking about making a nation from whole cloth. Secession is tearing a piece of a nation, and is rarely succesful.

Please remember that Czechoslovakia was a very young nation. And it was entirely manufactured. I doubt the relationship between Texas and the United States has anything in common with it.

  • Gov Perry is trying to get all the Fed. Funds he can from Barack that'd result in big contracts to his corporate buddies but he doesn't wanna take $500 million from the Fed Govt to help the unemployed cuz the state might be out a few dollars on the program.

He's also working overtime to see that babies born to illegals can't get food stamps...their parents already can't.

Family of 3 might be eligible for $150 food stamps, but if only the child is a US citizen than just $50 for child.

  • have any of the texas democratic congresspeople given their opinions about the secession yet?

  • It comes up every session in the state legislature and most who support the idea are fringe republicans. There are dems who support it, but they are conservative democrats. In reality, the provision allowing Texas to legally succed from the union has expired. I believe it expired about 10 years ago.

  • To Obama if Texas wants to succeed I say let it go, it is such a backwards state that still thinks george bush was good. They still think they piss oil and shit gold. Honestly if Texas succeeds i won't loose an ounce of sleep

  • Every state has just as much right to secede as Texas. Honestly, with as much as the Federal Gov't has fucked shit up in the past 30 years, I don't blame them.

  • SHOW ME IN THE CONSTITUTION where it says the states have a right to leave the union? We actually fought a War over this issue and the secessionist LOST!!!

  • Texas has its own constitution.

    ARTICLE 1. BILL OF RIGHTS

Sec. 1. FREEDOM AND SOVEREIGNTY OF STATE. Texas is a free and independent State, subject only to the Constitution of the United States, and the maintenance of our free institutions and the perpetuity of the Union depend upon the preservation of the right of local self-government, unimpaired to all the States.

  • Texas does enjoy this right that no other state does. But don't you find it a bit ironic that a sitting governor would mention this over what amounts to cleaning up the mess left by the former governor of TEXAS!

  • Every state has its own constitution. Surely you know this. Number two, Texas would have a very hard time getting out of the Union. Most likely, there would be more fighting.

  • Im sure Texans are aware of that. They must believe their state is worth fighting for, or the option would not have been presented.

Besides, Texas is more than capable of taking care of itself ( just as any other state ) Even more so if you think about it. Theirs the oil, the ports, the cattle, the farming, the minerals and resources, the military might and the loyal man power to make it happen.

Honestly, theirs more pros than cons to a Texas secession.

  • Do you think that the Federal government is going to let Texas keep the military if it secedes?

  • What military? They obviously can keep texan soldiers...

  • Then let them. Whats the problem?

  • More pros than cons indeed. The rest of us would be rid of Texas!

  • what about the liberals in Texas? There are liberals like Shelia Jackson Lee. Where is she on this?

  • Thank you for not advocating violence against us as so many of your fellow unionists do. We need more unionists of your mindset to have a peacefull secession. Keep up the good work.

  • Everyone knows that Slick Rick Perry panders to whomever he speaking to at the time.

  • This bird-flu-swine-flu-human-flu all mixed together is manufactured ... not possible to happen naturally. Listen to Alex Jones [YouTube] for more.

  • Right on! I saw this one coming! I agree with Dizzymasekela LMFAO

  • We should help Texas deal with swine flu, but first we should waterboard Perry then shave his head then make him suck Joe the Tax Cheat, Welfare Queen, and Unlicensed Plumber's cock.

  • ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!!!

  • if texas and florida secede we can make iraq and afghanistan states. we're gonna be there forever anyway

  • WHy doesn't Florida float off? Cus Georgia sucks. arharhar

  • hey go ahead Texas, who is really gonna miss ya? While you're at it take Florida too....48 states sounds fine to me!!

  • Perry's dream is my dream. Wouldn't it be wonderful to lose Texas and most of the South (except possibly VA and NC)? No more bible beaters. No more questions about presidents and their "personal relationship" with God. It would be just like the US was a real adult county.

Yes, Rick, you can go -- but you have to take Utah with you.

  • What about Florida?

  • Forida can stay -- if they behave. LOL

  • Yeah, wouldn't it be awesome if a state which is only behind Cali in terms of economic activity, and has massive oil reserves just leave the U.S?

  • gwef7 yes, it would be awesome, we could get oil from Canada & Venezula...so who needs Texass? They could give back the Stimulus money, tear up their Medicare & Social Security cards, would save us a bundle & make their own vaccines! Dont let the door hit you in the a** on the way out Texas! Bye Y'all!

  • Remember all the outrage over imported oil? Yeah,me too.

  • Learn how to frame a proper question..

  • Alaska?

  • How about Alaska?

  • totally, and Hawaii too

  • Alaska can get lost, but I like Hawaii. Pineapples, sunsets, and hula girls ! :D

Besides, where would Hawaii be without America? The Pacific ocean would be the perfect metaphor for Hawaiian independence: Totally isolated in the middle of nowhere.

  • ok how bout making them a dominon, like Australia?

  • Yea texas has there own mexicans sneeking in.

  • Take Rumsfeld's tamiflu drugs and die or don't take Rumsfeld's tamiflu drugs and live. The choice is yours. 9/11 debunkers should definately take Rumsfeld's tamiflu drugs just to prove that it was an outside job.

  • The red states SHOULD secede. They can have their Jesusland all to themselves. I'd be perfectly happy in the United States of Canada.

  • Nah, we need their farmland.

  • Red states take the most gov't welfare and would be worse off than third world countries if it weren't for blue states and the federal gov't.

  • 1. DC receives more welfare per tax dollar paid than any other district/state in the country.

    2. Why do you support welfare if those "third world" red staters are leaching off of you? They dont want welfare and they dont want to pay for it, so why not let them have it their way? Thats how it should be, each state should provide for its own constituents, like the Constitution says so.

  • Finally I've been waiting for some criticism on this guy. Thank you Headz up.

  • To Rick Perry: Go ahead...do it, faggot!

  • why do you always make that same comment on like every political video?

  • Thumbs down just for the random caps.

  • Roflmao!!!!!!!

  • If anyone thought Texas was seriously going to secede from the Union they were drinking some pretty strong liquor...probably stuff you can only find in Texas.

  • I agree, but why did you name yourself HerbertHoover? That guy was one of our worst presidents.

  • I do not view him as a terrible. I see him as the last of the progressive Republicans in the mode of Teddy Roosevelt.

I see Hoover as a tragoic figure who was left holding an empty bag left to him by the Federal Reserves of the Wilson to Coolidge Adminsitrations. President Hoover attempted to react to the recession of 1929 with the Federal Reconstrucation Administration (FRA) and other precursors to FDR's much heralded New Deal. Damn Smoot-Hawley Tariff though, kept the depression going on.

  • Rick Perry, typical Republican. Gotta luv em :-D

  • Google Bilderberg Group. Fake patriot Rick Perry has been a quest at the ULTRA exclusive Bilderberg meetings. Hillary and Barack snuck away to attend the 2008 meeting in VA last year.

  • Pretty strange have the "drugs" already to go ?

  • yeah i live here too

  • Lol is all I have to say.

  • When you do decide to go, please take Alaska with you

  • Hell, all the red states can go for all I care!
