Maybe that was just an example of some extreme attention to detail on the actors part. The guys foot was broken when it was hit with the hammer at 1:06. You see the same guy limping with the foot hit at 2:14. And it gives out when he tries to swing a punch at 2:15.

Or maybe it was just a fuck up. Either way, I would like to give the film the benefit of the doubt.
