Adored this show, my all time favourite, taped it all and fell in love with Stuart Damon but these days more likely to fall in love with Alexandra! Thanks for a wonderful catch up!
I met Baastedo about three years ago at a sci fi convention. She was sat behind a table with Champions memrobilia and when I tried talking to her about my memories of the show, she was like "Well, unless you're going to buy a signed photograph, I won't discuss the show with you!"
I couldn't believe it. I would have bought one from her, but as she was so rude, I declined. I then said to her "I have two words for you Ms Bastedo... Emma Peel!" She was not amused Lol
@bladrunner6 unfortunately, some stars only come to conventions for the money and not to socialize. I've had that happen before and when it does, I just move on and dont buy the memoribilia.
Missed the most of the series first time round, its on ITV4 everday now. Itsso good that I watch that and randall and hopkirk every day, then watch them again when they come round again, just love it !!
They are such great people Alexandra Bastedo still looks great ,I notice that Stuarts voice sounds softer, different to when he was in the series but the other 2 sound much the same. Wish they could come back in an 'Older Champions' series !!
I'm so happy to see them get together... I had the hots for Stuart Damon...I did run into Stuart many times in Hollywood, but the first time, I ran into him at Franklin and Cahuenga he was living in the same Hills as I was called Whitley Heights...he was with his blonde son crossing the street.....I was young 19, 20 year old...beautiful and striking myself...and I said hello to him, but he just blew me off in very rude way...I would later see him in later years at a Hancock Park grocery store.
Well, according to The Complete Directory To Prime Time Network And Cable TV Shows (Tim Brooks & Earl Marsh), "The Champions" did indeed cross the pond for the single summer of 1968. NBC ran it in the 8:00 hour.
@dijjet I remember watching it in it's first run in the US, on a Sunday as I recall. It also was syndicated for a short time in early 1970 as I watched it in the early evening around 6pm
What a fun clip to watch! I've heard of the show but never got a chance to see an episode. If it ever played on American TV (network or local) I never saw it. Looks like it was a wonderful program! And they 3 co-stars look pretty dang good for it being almost 40 years after the original show! Especially Alexandra...my gosh, she is still ONE HOT BABE....hubba hubba to the max, daddy-o! THANKS for sharing this delightful footage with us! :)
the 60s shows in the UK were Brilliant...William Gaunt ...great voice..
I liked jason King...and Hilda Baker...aka I must get a little hand on this watch...Oh and Richard O sillivan...man about the house...I could go on and on...Brill
Wow this brings back so many memories, and the realisation that nothing stays the same. Alex Bastedo was the most beautiful woman ever, and by this film, still is wearing very well, still looks stunning. bless them all.
great clip-didnt know they,d had a reunion-didnt recognise stuat damon either-he looks nothing like craig stirling now.alexandra looks great-she,s the only one thats looked after themself-she,s still fit.does anyone know what year this was filmed?
thanks for this . im so grateful to view this reunion. if u hav more of it i would be even luckier and more grateful than i am rite now.I think William gaunt is so English in his ways when Stuart walks in. Stuart seems like a great guy and very warm. The show was great in 60s and worthy of a big screen production today. Dont ruin it please like The AVENGERS.
Can you put the rest on? This is a great clip thanks. We Brits didn't get General Hospital so, apart from some 80's sit-coms with Bill Gaunt, it's long long time no see.
Great clip. I'm assuming the doc came from the special edition. i shelled out for the boxed set a couple of years ago without it. Any chance of the rest of the doc???
what a marvelous clip, i always wonder what the other two had been up to--if they were still around, what they looked like...a huge thank you for answering my questions!
If you're wondering about the Gene Barry remark. Stuart was supposed to be a regular on the ITC show "The Adventurer" but the story is that Gene Barry had Stuart fired after 2 episodes because Stuart was taller than he was.
I heard that awhile ago. Major Napoleon complex do ya think? I think Gene Barry got the "short" end of the accomplished actor career ladder compared to Stuart Damon. Serves him right.
this is great to see them again after all these years-i loved the champions! great memories of the 70's!

Stuart Damon looks now he's older like Bob Monkhouse,a comic famous for presenting game shows in the UK.

I didn't know Stuart did spy shows back then, and in a starring role at that! Smashing! XD

Just started to watch the re runs of The Champians on ITV4 in England.
It is so nice to see how much the people have all changed over the years.

Thank you so much for posting this fantastic reunion of the Champions.
I was and still am a huge fan and thanks to ITV4, I still watch at least 3 episodes every week.
Of course I have the box set as well.
All three look very well 40 years after the series finished in 1968.
Please post more.

Gene Barry was "Bat Masterson" in the early 60s plus he had a number of movies, so he didn't do too badly in the "accomplished actor" department.
