  • no, belladona! these are hausas, nigerians and forever muslims. these singers are kanawas i.e from kano, which is 99% muslims.there are of course christians in the northern parts of nigeria who speak hausa fluently as a second language i.e biroms of jos, katafs of southern kaduna, bachamas of adamawa, jukuns of taraba, tangales of bauchi, bius of borno, gwaris of niger, zurus of kebbi etc.

  • how can i find christian hausa music, i've been looking for them, but hard to find.

  • @samboms the best thing you guys should do to our motherland africa and her culture is to abandon all these foreign religions imported that destroys africa and its cultures ie islam and christianity

  • @samboms

I congratulate you for your mastery of Nigerian History. This is remarkable. You don't run into people like you these days. I am soooooooo proud of you. Please keep it up and pass it on.

  • I truely believed that no music will beat Somali music in the planet. Thank you Somali people.

  • This is Hausa though...

  • well dis ain't somali peeps they are Nigerians, Hausa's, and they ain't muslims, they are Christian singing in Hausa language...

  • Masha Allah whatever they are saying its great and is similar to my tangue - Somali.

  • hahaha!! but hausa are the best in the world

  • @Hindatou You are right about that Hindatou.

  • @bawaboy1

Hausa have nothing in common with Niger-Congo languages or Nilo-Saharan languages ,Hausa belonged to Chadic language family which in term belonged to much larger Afro-Asiatic family.

Afro-Asiatic family itself originated in Mid East not Ethiopia. In fact all these people are more Asian than Africa if you want to follow the origin of their languages and their DNA.

We have new studies about Chadic speakers, they came from Asia to Egypt & then moved to Libya before entered AIR MOUNTAINS

  • So this is Nigerian. Wow. To me it also sounds Indian. sorry for my ignorance.

  • I heard the British displaced alot of people and sent some to India.

  • TheCongoWasRobbed, I do not know where you heard such story from, but we Nigerian has never been in any stuation of displacment. What you heard was that the Brithish colonized us just like any other country. Therefore please get your story right before- hand so that you don't upset a lot of Nigerians.

    Thanks

  • I was not speaking about Nigerians. I was speaking about myself as far of having Asain fore parents. Someone told me that they moved around some of the North Africans. My mother's family looks more North African than Indian so I was wondering why. I was not not speaking about Nigerians.

  • There is a possibility of a similarity between both cultures especially considering our traditional instruments. Hausa's have a string instrument very similar to the Sitar and lots of wood wind intruments that could have originated from the same influence. Who knows. Anyways, I really appreciate both cultures, very rich!

  • This type of music sounds more like Imazighen music to me. So this tribe could be related to them in some way.

  • Most about any tribe whose language is a member of Bantu-languge and has an Islamic influence in its background, you will find some similarity in it's music.

  • @danbalaabdu hausa is not in the bantu language family.

  • @sockslynee Are you sure of your facts? Just Google the word Bantu, or the phrase Bantu Language and see what shows up. Happy reading.

  • @bawaboy1 I dont know which wikipedia your reading I read in "Penguin Atlas of African History" that the chadic branch of language is from chustic that has been given indepent status from being isolated for so long. tfor word m-t 'die' (Ehret: *maaw), attested in Chadic (for example, Hausa mutu), Egyptian (mwt *muwt, mt, Coptic mu), Berber (mmet, pr. immut), Semitic (*mwt), and Cushitic (Proto-Somali *umaaw/*-am-w(t)- 'die'). It is afro asiatic sorry to burst your bubble :)

  • @danbalaabdu There are no Bantu language groups in West Africa except in far South Eastern Nigeria I forget the name of the ethnic group. But for the most part Bantoid language does not exist in West Africa. Hausa is an Afro-Asiatic language.

  • @VraiDiouf Are you sure of your statement? Just Google the word Bantu, and see what you will come up with. Thanks.

  • @bawaboy1 if you read your defintion of Bantu on Wikipedia like you claimed you would see that West Africa is the only region with NO Bantu speakers. souce: wiki/Bantu_languages Also, Hausa is not related to Bantu, Hausa is an Afro-Asiatic language like Amharic, Tamasheq, Arabic, etc. You may want to look up where you get bantu from. Are you even African?

  • Look up Amazigh and you will see. So maybe the music in India is really from Africa or Yemen.

  • I really like da song with all my heart.

  • hausa people are from the northern part of nigeria.hausa people and fulani people are mixed together. The main tribes in nigeria are hausa, yoruba and igbo.

  • why this sound Indian, what's it about?

  • LOL where did that chinese man come from? Nice song though

  • lovely Hausa song fron Nigeria
